Lake Street Bar and Grill

Lake Street is closed and yet the world still goes on!
I am not going to miss this place. Eastside cheese at it’s best. I had one maybe two good nights there, but for the most part it was filled with idiots both male and female.

This reivew only pertains to the bar/​nighclub. I ussually go DT, and I was told to «dress to impress» at lake street. Um lets just say, no. I was over dressed because everyone there had the worst sense of style on the face of the earth. I was told it was a place of «overly dolled up girls» and «affliction wearing douches», that!!! I did not see. I did see frumpy weirdo’s, dorky country bumpkin guys, and just… loser/​dorky people in general (except for the 3 people out of my group and me). There was no one on the dance floor, and those that did dare to brave the bare dance floor had no business being on it because they couldn’t dance. I saw alot of girls wailing their arms, and trying to do that sexy hair toss, but in the end, it was moreover entertaining, and comical. I might consider coming here for lunch/​dinner but never again for the night scene.

Lake Street Bar and Grill is one of the best places to go in Kirkland! I’ve been with a few friends and the bartenders are fantastic, the drinks stiff, the music great. They seem to have a good rotation of DJ’s spinning Thursday, Friday and Saturday and the cover isn’t too expensive. If you are looking to get away from the «Seattle bar scene» and check out Kirkland, make sure you visit Lake St!

I do not like coming here. But I end up here maybe once or twice a year for various reasons.
The crowd is awful. Bunch of +2’s and bottle rats, and ASSfliction shirts.
After last call, I ran to the restroom. As I walked down the hall I saw a man talking to a woman close to the ladies door. The woman walked past me and left. The guy stood there. I opened the bathroom door and turned to walk towards a stall. I was quite startled when I saw in the mirror that the man had followed me into the bathroom. I was completely alone and cornered.
I told him he was in the ladies room and he said «I know» we exchanged a couple more creepy words, I was so scared I pushed back him quickly and left.
I went to tell the bouncer and he really didn’t care at all. He said «what did he look like?» and I said «a grey shirt and…» he cut me off and said «Hes leaving right now» pointing at the door and turned around. «Umm.that is not him, he is still in there» he ignored me again.
I couldn’t believe this. If security doesn’t take things like this more serious, something bad will happen.

Alfie is simply the best bartender in the Seattle Metro area!

The flair bartender is great, besides that it feels like a prop from Jersey Shore. It’s been a while since I’ve seen so many over gelled douche frat boys in one place. And last time I was there an old dude came in and threw up on the bar. yuk.

Expensive. Not much happening there… basically empty on Fridays.

If water is supposed to be free, how come a cup of ice costs $ 7? It’s too bad too, cause the bartenders themselves (What up Alfie?) are really nice.
Typical Kirkland crowd (read; flagrant hair product abuse.) Music is just average, with the exception of Thursday when DJ Brett Michaels comes into spin. I would advice saving your money and time, and just head downtown.
As is always the case, if you are drinking in Kirkland, make sure you aren’t driving as the cops have NOTHING better to do then drive around the main drag and look for people to pull over.

This is only a rating of Lake Street as a night club. Even with free cover for ladies on a Saturday night (+1 star), this only gets a 2 star rating from me. One would assume in an area as nice as Kirkland and being one of the only clubs there would be more than 20 people on the dance floor.
I walked in at 11PM, and went to the bar to buy a couple drinks. 14 $ for ice and some vodka tinged cranberry juice. The bartender was nice (+1 star) and proceeded to tell me that the place would get a lot more busy by 12. (also told me that I looked at a 15 year old… lol thanks…) 12 rolled around, and then 1AM… there were people pretty much break dancing — thats how much free space each person had. All I’m saying is that when I go to a club, I don’t want to be looked at as the only fool dancing with a strange mix of guys vultureing around.
Overall: Venue is alright, lots of parking (because no one is around there :/​) drinks are mediocre and so is the music. Save your money and go downtown on a Saturday night.

The nightclub aspect I cannot comment on, however as an indie crafter, I can say that this is a good place to have an event! They also have really YUMMY brunch!
I participate in I Heart Indie Crafts, which is held here every other month (starting on March 7^th). This is an awesome venue for this, especially since the floor plan is very open (when the tables and stuff are moved out of the main area).
So, if you are in the mood for Brunch, Drinks, Art and Crafts, then come on in on the first Sunday of March!

I’ve only been here for karaōke. Sandra Dee, the host, is super friendly and cool! The sound system is pretty good and the selection is good, too. The atmosphere is kind of standard Eastside faire. At about 11, tons of bros suddenly filled the place. It was like Jersey Shore! Then when they realized that the male to female ratio was about 4:1, they all left. Not really my kind of place, but if you need a karaōke fix, this place is alright.
It’s true about the icy drinks. Even though I only ordered Diet Coke, I mostly got ice.

For some reason I was really excited for the «SEXY TIME» stamp they were supposed to have. I mean, who doesn’t want to be stamped with that? Although I suppose the «OK» stamp they have is actually a better indicator of what you can expect. Nothing about Lake Street Bar is especially bad, but nothing is especially good.
You should definitely expect to drop some $$$ on mediocre drinks that have a lot of ice in them. As Heidi mentioned, they use an obscene amount of ice in all of their cocktails. Most drinks are around $ 8 which isn’t really expensive, but considering you get a few drops of booze and a lot of ice, it’s not a great deal. The Long Islands I had were all insanely sweet and had a little too much Tequila in them. The Jäger Bombs were served in a teeny, tiny glass and only had a few drops of energy drink in them. If I ever come back I’ll probably stick with beer. Although it’s entirely possible they’d put ice in my beer just because they’re slightly obsessed.
The service was sometimes friendly and sometimes quite rude. They served patrons rather randomly and the amount of time you waited for a drink could be fifteen seconds to fifteen minutes. It might not be the worst idea to hire another bartender.
The DJ was so-​so. Definitely played a lot of current and older Top 40 and more than one Sir-​Mix-​A-​Lot song.
All in all the place was okay but I’m not sure I’ll be coming back anytime soon. It was a great time, but I think that’s more a reflection of the awesome people. Fun for Kirkland nightlife, but the $ 5 cover was a bit ridiculous.

Do you like ice with your drink, or drink with your ice? Well either way be ready to have an icy good time at this place. I wish I had taken pictures of our empty drinks, filled to the brim with, yup you guessed it, ice.
For 7 dollars a drink, I don’t want it in the smallest plastic cup possible, completely filled with ice. It’s seriously a rip off. Stick with bottled beers, for $ 5. The jäger bombs are also a rip, at $ 8 a pop, they were the smallest jäger bombs ever, and were poured into the small plastic cups, about a ¼ of the way up.
The last time I was there DJ Niros was spinning, and was freaking awesome. This time it was DJ Violate and it was not nearly as good. Some of the stuff he played was great, other stuff boring.
If you’re a pretty girl expect to be overly oggled and groped by the guys there. If you’re a girl on the prowl, this is the place to go, guys are not afraid to come up and start dancing with you, even if you’re trying to dance with your boyfriend.
****I will say that the owner came up to us when we first got there and gave us tickets to come back with free cover, which was nice. However, I had my friends sign up on the website for the newsletter, because it says if you do, you will get free cover. When they got there, the bouncer said sorry no way to prove it. I talked to one of the managers who said you had to print off the page. However, when you sign up, there’s no page to print off. I know this because I also signed up. She let me friends in for free, so that was nice, but it was a pain in the ass.

The bf and I stopped by here before meeting up with friends and it was the first bar that we came across where the people inside weren’t over 40. When we walked in, there was some guy behind the bar who just stared at us awkwardly. I don’t know if he was a manager/​a bartender/plumber…but he was pretty good at making us feel uncomfortable and unwanted. No wonder there were only 3 people in there when we were. I was wondering if he wanted our ID’s, if they were having a private party, or something else the way he looked at us.
Finally the bartender came over who was really cool and got us our drinks. Like I said, BEST grape nehighs I’ve ever had in my life. PERFECTLY made. Just enough of everything, not too much of anything.
He was really quick to refill our drinks and ask if we needed anything else.
I wasn’t sure what this place was. They had a bar. But a disco ball and what looked like a DJ booth. But then they had pool tables smack in the middle of the bar. Kind of an odd set up. I don’t think I’d go out of my way to come here again… but it definitely wasn’t a bad place. Just awkward.

I am going with 3 stars b/​c this place has great people watching in and outside the bar.
Picture this:
Hot day outside, half dressed people everywhere. I need a drink to get this heat cloud away from me. Walk into Lake Street Grill and am immediately greeted with «You are the pretties Brunette in here». I am also the only brunette in there. They won my heart anyway. Then the waitress comes around with a drink special that sounds more like a Sesame Street characters name. We drink the drink then order a pitcher. Mean time we hear the LONG, DETAILED and unsolicited history of the waitress who was having her first day on the job… and first day on the job drunk. Nice. Then we get a doubly long history of the bars and they gossip.
I like everything this day/​evening had to offer. Would I go back? Mmmm think not. Seems a little too incestuous. Weird I know.

We started out at the Sharks Club which was struggling to keep whatever clubbers were there on the dance floor. We decided to head to downtown but while walking out to the car we heard the base and loud music and decided to follow. This club was packed. It has two bars one in front on the street side and one in back behind the dance floor. There is also a bar set aside just for water. Plenty of room to sit at the huge windows and watch people walking around downtown Kirkland. The dance floor was good sized. The DJ mixed it up well. Best part was the Journey song that he mixed with booty shaking dance music and the crowd went wild singing at the top of their lungs. I think we all deep down heart Journey. Thanks to the great bartenders Taylor and Jo and for the surprise drink you made me. Whatever it was it was good going down. It was nice getting to know you guys. This place is fun and I think anyone can have a great time here. You can see it all. In addition to all the great dancers and those just having a good time we also noticed the following:
The girl that thinks she is a backup dancer for Madonna who keeps rolling around on the sticky dance floor like a virginish however obviously far from it.
The two guys that came together and separate trying their luck dancing by themselves desperately trying to make eye contact with anyone with female parts.

Lots to see here, great music to dance to, nice crowd and no problems as everyone was leaving.

This is the place to go if you want to get hand stamped: «Sexy Time.»
Though I was dressed like a homeless person, the door guy was really nice to me.
The crowd is a bit disjointed, not really one style, but if I would have to give a description: like SoCal, but without the sun.
