Description

Specialties

Mona Foundation is a nonprofit that is dedicated to supporting grassroots educational initiatives and raising the status of women and children across the world.

We believe in the innate capacity and the inherent right of each individual, regardless of economic status, to be the protagonist of their own development.

We therefore develop deep and long-term partnerships with the projects we support to learn how best to empower communities to implement their own development activities.

We give 100% of all designated funds and 97% of contributions to the General Fund directly to the projects we support. (We are able to do this because our administrative costs are covered by a private fund provided us outside of the contributions we receive.)

History

Established in 1999.

Mona Foundation was founded by a small group of friends attending a social and economic development conference that saw a great need in the world for every child to have the right to a quality education.
