North Kirkland Community Center & Park

Easy parking in the rec center and what a fun park for my 4 year old to discover and my 1 year old to climb (not really made for my daredevil 1 year old) there is a fun train toy and swings. Little sand area to dig in and many places to climb and slide and bathrooms (wahoo we love real bathrooms not Porto-​potties)

Hello, we have been with ballet classes for 2 – 3.5 old for three month and we sign up for three more. What great well structured class. My daughter is able to focus and pick many gracefull movement big thanks to Rene ballet teacher. It is great to se your Kido doing things even at home. What great way for them to learn to follow, do, practice things with things that they love the most.

The park is small, but nice for small children. There are several play structures and slides of different heights.
The community center has an indoor play area for toddlers. It only cost $ 3 and there are lots of ride on toys, some baby slides, etc.
The community center can also be rented out for birthday parties. The employee I spoke to didn’t know the maximum amount of people the party room could hold and couldn’t answer some basic questions. As it would be a smaller party, I rented it out anyway. It was a great location for a birthday party. I just wish there was a longer option than a two hour rental as it can feel a bit rush as you need to set up and put away tables and chairs within the time limit.

I really like this park! Yes, we went on a really off day (read: it was freezing cold and only a few brave souls would brave the tundra… probably because their child (ren) demanded to go outside!), but the park itself is still pretty cool! There is a great swing area (2 big kid swings and 2 littler kid swings), a play area for bigger kids and another for smaller ones. It’s not a HUGE park with open grass areas or anything, but the play structures are really nice and meet the needs of those with kids who don’t need to run, Run, RUN! Some great slides, a train, spinny things — all good! Parking at the rec center is convenient too. This park is near a somewhat busy street though so supervision is definitely a must!

Plug in! Dance, play, make friends, learn something new! This local community center rox. Great staff too.
Every quarter there is a new set of classes and events. Everything from Halloween Events and a Snowflake ball to art classes, dance classes and more.
Hip Hop Dance, Zumba, ballroom dancing,…
All ages. Low class costs. Facility has loads of parking and is just min. from Juanita Beach and parks.

What a great feature to have so close to home. The northern of the City’s centers, you can find art, dance, aerobics, zumba, writing workshops, CPR certs and anything in between for all ages –pre-​school to seniors available here. Open to all, with Resident discounts on class fees.
The City took an old church building and really made a great cornerstone in the community out of it.
Easily accessible, ample parking, on major bus routes and well lit crosswalks and wide sidewalks make it possible to enjoy no matter your mode of transport.

I love that they offer so many classes here. My friend and I took zumba, and there’s plenty of space and fans overhead, so it’s perfect. If you’re interested in taking fitness or other types of classes, I’d suggest checking here. You’ll be happily surprised. :o)

I love this place! They offer really affordable fitness classes (dance aerobics, Zumba, strength/​pilates, strength/​yoga, circuit training, and Gut and Glutes, just to name a few), and the staff and instructors are very friendly and helpful. And should you forget to bring your own weights/​bands/​yoga mats, etc. they have spares to lend to you. HURRAY!
Fun, affordable classes, clean facility, friendly/​helpful instructors, with lots of classes to choose from… c’mon, what’s not to love?!

Nice sized Train Themed park next to the Kirkland Community Center. There is a fair sized sloped grassy area. This is good for sitting or rolling down, but probably not so great for tossing around a ball or frisbee.
Play Area (3 Stars)
Nice play area for little kids with lots of fun slides. There is a larger Big Kid play structure adjacent to the toddler play space, but it’s not as big. This playground may not excite older kids much, but is very well suited for 2 to 5 year olds.
Parking (4 Stars)
Parking is very close and convenient. I’ve never had trouble finding a spot.
SPF (3 Stars)
There are a fair amount of old growth evergreens and most of the time you can find a nice spot in the shade. That being said, if you are the sun bathing type, the sloped grassy area would be perfect for taking in some rays.
