Pacific Medical Center – Totem Lake

I’m a Pacmed patient for over 10 years and have also moved my kids and family over to the clinic. Always satisfied with any doctor I would see (my absolute favorite has been Dr Radlo)… Sadly, my experience today with Dr Cho was one I’d sooner forget. He was defensive from the beginning and rather rude. Tried calling to talk to manager. My call was directed to VM. Pacmed, I will not return to your clinic. Will not go into detail about today’s experience. Although I’m sure my insurance will charge me the full amount as if I was taken care of by a physician. That’s really unfortunate.
I am so dissatisfied with today’s visit. Especially sitting in the room having my doctor speak to me in a condescending tone. I am not an idiot. I have an MA from Columbia University. Respect every patient.
Pacmed: if Any way this visit can be removed from my file and insurance record? Disappointing to pay a huge deductible for no reason.

I really enjoy this clinic! All of the staff and doctors are very kind and helpful. I’ve seen the dermatologist here multiple times and always leave happy! I would highly recommend!

Went to the appointment and was treated like an animal by this woman, Ginger Ruddy, who calls herself a doctor. She accused me of being at fault for people getting sick because I refused the flu shot and then she started telling me which part of my body would need plastic surgery, without even asking her opinion. She ask me to not enter the clinic next time I come and be seen at the door so people wouldn’t get sick from me. She is the worst doctor ever! She even billed me twice for the same visit and forced me pay a huge bill as she is one of the most expensive doctors there. Pacmed, wrongly informed me that they are contracted with my insurance and made me think I will not pay anything for the visit. Instead, they sent me a 850 dollars bill and told me that the insurance plan I chose is not working at their clinic… Pacmed is the big thief!!! Useless I tried to talk to the manager and billing department. They just know they want the money and I have to pay that monster doctor for an extra visit. Basically she double charged me inventing an assessment she never did.

I cannot seem to get anyone in billing to return my calls so let’s see if a negative review will help prompt a response. I took my son in for a camp physical in October 2014. Price for a camp physical was pretty high, I thought, at $ 180, but we were out of time and no other options. Dr. Cho was very good. When checking out, they asked if we had insurance. I said yes, but it does not cover camp physicals. The gal behind the desk said to please give her the insurance card and they would try anyway and that I could still get my cash discount if insurance did not cover it. Stupidly, I went along with this and of course the insurance company declined it as I said they would. Then I get a bill in the mail for…$ 360! For a camp physical! I called the number on the statement and was told someone in billing would get back to me. I got a return call in the middle of my workday telling me to return their call. This went back and forth a couple of times with my asking them to please leave an email or a message with details as I am a teacher and can’t get to a phone during the day. No response. Now I get a call this morning from a collection agency. Pac Med, please fix this immediately and tell me where to send a check for $ 180 with confirmation in writing that you have corrected your mistake with the collection agency. You know where to find me. Dr. Cho, I hope you find a better place for your considerable talents.

Based on my single experience here, it seems to be a great place! I came in about 30 minutes early, and they got me checked in and seen right away… maybe because it was 7:30AM and no one was there but still. Dr. Hansen is really nice and the receptionist was really helpful. Yay healthcare!

5 stars for Dr. Shirley Chen and her amazing assistant Darnelle. Both of these friendly ladies will set you right at ease. And they make a great time. I feel like Dr. Chen takes the time to really get to know me and listen to my concerns.
2 stars for lab. This place always takes forever. Even when there are only a few people waiting. They have three chairs to use for blood draw and often only one is occupied at a time. Plus, once, I had to wait 20 minutes just to get a pee cup. I tried getting the staff’s attention to let them know it was all I needed and they kept interrupting my explanation to tell me they were getting through the line as quickly as possible. Very frustrating. Don’t go here if/​when you’re in a hurry. My shortest experience was about 20 minutes, the average has been 30 minutes, and my longest experience was almost an hour waiting to get one vial of blood drawn.
5 stars for the Pharmacy. Lovely staff. Prescriptions are ready quickly (about 5 – 10
minutes after being entered in the computer during your appointment).

Everyone is so nice and friendly! I really like how there is a pharmacy in the clinic so I don’t have to go to two different places to get my medication or worry about there being a mix up. The doctors take time to see you, and not rush you out to see the next patient. Not only that, but they also have their own lab and X-​ray facilities. The phlebotomists worked so quickly I wasn’t even aware my blood was being taken!
Overall, I was impressed by how quickly they could get things done, while being efficient at the same time.
I’m happy that I don’t have to travel all over city to see different doctors for different things (such as dermatology and eye exams). It can all be done in one place :)

After moving back to to Kirkland from Mill Creek I decided to find a new Dr. close by. My husband and I both tried Pac Med (both had different docs). Once was enough for me. I went in for an annual exam and just mentioned to the doctor I wasn’t sleeping well and she immediately tried to put me on depression meds… UHH WHAT? After declining (I was not and am not depressed) she kept trying to talk me into a low dose for at least 5 minutes. I also tried to address some concerns with her and she brushed it off and just said «if you don’t feel better make another appt» Why should I make another appt when I am already there and the concern was part of my appt (that she was rushing through), she didn’t even make an attempt to see what the problem was. (it would have taken her 2 mins). My husband had a similar experience with his Dr. out of the blue he (the DR.) tried to put him on depression meds. My husband waited for about 15 mins after his appt time to be seen (not uncommon, I know) and the Dr. rushed through his appt, my husband said to him, I have just one more question and the Dr. looked at his watch and said «well you were only scheduled for 15 mins and we are past that now so you’ll have to make another appt».
This place is so unprofessional I will never go back. I am so happy to drive back to Bothell to see a good doctor!

They take 1 insurance plan

I had a very good experience with my physician here.
However, the 2 lab ladies were not professional in their personal behavior or treatment of patients. 1 was engaged in verbally discussing menu options for an event with the other one — this went on for quite a while. Both ignored me and didn’t greet me for several minutes even though I was the only patient in the lab and they knew I was there, then 1 said «Come back» — I wasn’t sure she was talking to me or if I had heard right. Eventually she said I could sit down in the lab chair. Waited a few more minutes. «SS» was abrupt in her manner, uninterested in being pleasant until the end of the draw when she said ‘Have a good day’ with no expression.
This is clearly their personal domain and patients seem like an unwelcome intrusion into their work life.

They are my all time favorite clinic. The service is always excellent.
The service is always really quick. I never have to wait too long for my name to be called.
The thing I like most about this place is that there are always same day appointments available. They are open pretty late in the day too. There is always parking out front.
The clinicians are always understanding. They are always listening to your needs, unlike some other clinics I have been to.

This was THE WORST treatment I have ever experienced. I had gone here a few times, with no problems, so when I needed to get a blood test for work, I made an appointment here. I came in at the end of December 2011 and after a very brief chat with the doctor, I went to get my blood drawn by a nurse with brown stains on her sweater. (I“m hoping that’s just coffee…) It took her forever to find a vein, but that wasn’t the worst part! The blood wouldn’t come out so she had to do it again! She says it happens because the vials are sometimes detective. p_​O That should have been my first warning.
The doctor said I should receive the results in about a week, and that he’ll give me a call to discuss them. So, I waited. By the end of week 2, the bill had come, but still no call and no results. I called customer service to see what the hold-​up was. They said 2 weeks is normal, and to just wait for the doctor to call. So, again I waited. By the end of the 3^rd week, I was getting anxious and frustrated. I called the medical center, and after 10 minutes of being put on hold, someone picks up. I ask them about the lab results, and they tell me Dr. Cho or his nurse will call me back tomorrow. Someone called 2 days after, and left a message to call them back. I called back, but I got a receptionist instead and she who tells me, in a thick accent, that the doctor or the nurse will call me back tomorrow. Are you kidding me?! It’s been a MONTH for what the doctor said should take a week and I still don’t have my lab results from a simple blood test! I called THREE times and I haven’t spoken to the doctor or the nurse!
Avoid this place like the plague. They’ll take your money and give you the run-​around.

Dr. Tony Cho is my doc. He’s cool, has a sense of humor, but don’t let his young looks fool you, lol. He knows his stuff and is very personable. He didn’t rush my appointment at all, which I really appreciated, and actually took the time to write stuff down and was genuinely interested in my medical history and health, family health, gave me great suggestions, etc.
Also, I’ll take the time to review the facility as well. It’s clean, bright and the assistants seemed pleasant. It’s very easy to get to and has plenty of parking.
