I love the yakisoba here, but I think they might be out of business? Their phone number is disconnected and I didn’t want to walk all the way down there to find out. Now what am I going to do for lunch?

Tucked away behind the Totem Lake Mall(if you can even call it a mall) Sakura can be a little difficult to find. As the other reviewers have mentioned, the portions are large, even for lunch. Prices are very reasonable, and they feature multiple lunch specials each day. Food is exactly average, nothing special, but nothing terrible either. Chicken is grilled well, and the sauce has a pretty good flavor. Dining room is very small, so get your food to go if you can. Plenty of parking available, so don’t worry about trying to find a spot when grabbing your food.

This spot is right next to Trader Joe’s, so every time I go to TJ I think«Hmm, I should try that teriyaki joint sometime» and yesterday was the day I finally did. Walked in and was not immediately overwhelmed. Place looked a little old and run down: carpet was ragged, counter was a little beat up, not well-lit, etc. Nothing terrible but definitely could use a little sprucing up. Whenever I try a new teriyaki place I like to start with the basic chicken teriyaki as a baseline, so I ordered that to go. Sat down at a table and almost couldn’t get up again because the tables were so sticky. Ick. Oh they also have the loudest ice maker I’ve ever heard. I thought the building was coming down on top of me or something. Sheesh. The wait seemed a little longer than is typical at a teriyaki place, but I was pretty hungry and didn’t have anything to do while I waited, so it might have just been me. Got it home and the food looked pretty good. At first I thought there was way too much sauce on it(I like a very light amount of sauce on my teriyaki), but it wasn’t bad. At this point I was a little down on my whole experience, but the food itself was pretty good. Lots of chicken, pretty tasty sauce, a good amount of rice. All for $ 7 with tax, which isn’t too bad. It’s not a destination type of place where you should go out of your way to try it, but if you’re in the area and need to scratch that teriyaki itch you could do much worse. I am interested in trying their chicken fried rice at some point, that may bump their rating up or down depending on how many peas and carrots they put in it ;)

I ate here for the first time today. I’ve driven by many times and it always seems like they are closed. They have no hours listed on the front door, which is unusual for a business. I ordered spicy chicken teriyaki and that cost over a dollar more than regular chicken teriyaki. The chicken tasted good but it wasn’t particularly spicy. There was a very thick sauce with some red in it but it wasn’t the spicy garlic sauce usually used at other restaurants. It tasted good but it really wasn’t spicy. I added Sriracha and it was a weird flavor. The salad was a mixture of iceburg lettuce and green cabbage, cut unevenly. The rice was tasty in a shape like a very small football. Still, it was better than two small mounds of rice. I generally prefer more rice than less. There was a lot of chicken. They had complimentary tea and water. They had lunch specials but I went for the regular spicy chicken. Also, the restrooms were interesting in that it was more like a cubicle(no ceiling). I’ve never seen that before. There were large boxes in the way on the floor, which I had to step over to get to their restroom cubicle. I noted to myself that all the clutter on the way to the restroom was not ADA compliant and there’s no way someone with a wheelchair or even a walker could get through it. I’ve seen this a lot in teriyaki restaurants… so much that I could make a list restaurants with all kinds of things cluttering the hallway to the restroom. I wonder why that is. Anyway, the woman who helped me had the nicest smile in her eyes. I think seeing the smile in the woman’s eyes was the best and most beautiful part of my dining experience this afternoon. I would go back just to experience that again!

Good teriyaki and service, but nothing particularly noteworthy.

Went here for a quick bite pre-volunteering. The rice was fresh, the meat was a little lukewarm, cloyingly sweet but good for a quick meal. $ 7 for dinner in 20 minutes in this neighborhood isn’t a bad deal. The restaurant was too cold to be comfortable but it was pretty clean.

It’s one of the better teriyaki places in the Kirkland area. The spicy chicken it’s good.

We went here around 6:30−7pm on a weekday and ordered chicken teriyaki and veggie stir fry. It turns out that we got there just before they closed, so we ended up getting a larger order of chicken for the price of normal. We took it to go and they were very nice and prompt. They seem to be very open and helpful, telling us what was in the sauce, etc. The food was pretty tasty. Lots of salty sauce which made it all delicious. We would definitely get the chicken again and try some other things. This is a good go-to place in totem lake if you live close and they are open.

Messed up my order several times. The 1st time thought it was a fluke, but after the third time is a little much! Will not be coming back!

I love this place, I do recommend that you try Sakura Teriyaki yourself over taking other peoples opinions though. There chicken yakisoba, yeah it’s a little greasy but thats why I love it. Usually Yakisoba and LoMein are greasy. I think they have the right amount. The Teriyaki dishes are large enough that I never finish my meal. They aren’t greasy at all, made just right. Great flavor and every bit just melts in my mouth. Their Gyoza(pot stickers) are to die for. I’ve had the Chicken Yakisoba, Beef Yakisoba, Spicy Chicken Teriyaki, Chicken Teriyaki, Beef Teriyaki, Salmon Teriyaki, egg roll, and pot stickers here. Almost everyday I ask my husband what he’d like me to pick up for lunch or dinner and he just smiles at me. Sometimes we share a meal with potstickers on the side or I get a smaller meal by adding potstickers to it(they have meal deals) and get him his own dish. The look of the shop isn’t anything too exciting but the food makes up for what it’s lacking in appearance. It’s good to note that even though they don’t have the newest design they are clean. The staff is friendly as well and it’s one of my favorite places to be. The price is great to. There aren’t many places you can go and get $ 20.00 meal for two where each person has their own huge portion of meat, rice, and a salad plus a side dish and two drinks. You’ve just got to try it for yourself and if you aren’t into anything slightly greasy don’t get yakisoba, I recommend getting a teriyaki dish as your first dish here.

Walking in & seeing«Chicken Breast Yakisoba» on the menu I was sooo excited! I’ve never heard of a teriyaki place offering chicken breast in their yakisoba, so needless to say I was super stoked to eat it. When I got it, it looked soooo greasy. I decided to take a bite because it might taste better than it looked, right? NOWRONG! It was soooo greasy I felt like I was eating oil with some noodles here & there. This experience has scared me off from trying anything else from Sakura & I’ve never been back & don’t plan on going back. The service was okay. Typical teriyaki service. eh.

Great terriyaki in a strip mall kinda spot. The only thing that bothered me was that the tables had dirty dishes sitting waiting to be taken back to be washed, and the only person in their working was the cashier and she was on the phone the whole time, and no other customers.

pretty cheap for the amount of food you get. I shared the large size chicken katsu with another person and for 8 bucks wtih a side order of gioza for 4 bucks it was plenty of food. they give u tons of chicken and it was really tasty. i like the fact that they use a mixup of cabbage in their salad.

Best teriyaki in the area. The meat is tasty, more than the usual flash cooked chicken hiding behind some overly sweetened sauce. The service is also very good(we showed up one minute before closing and they gladily took our order).

As I sit here eating my hot spicy chicken teriyaki from Sakura I am disappointed. For the $ 8 dollar teriyaki with rice and salad I was expecting much more. More quantity and more quality. The sauce is too tangy for my liking, and is an odd orange red color. The chicken is actually really good and cooked well, but for 8 bucks I expect a larger portion. There is a larger portion available on the menu for another 75 cents, but it’s not worth it IMO. There are better places in the area which have larger portions for less $.
