Studio 150

This is my favorite hair salon. Acacia is the best! They just recently remodeled and expanded the salon and it’s a very inviting feeling. As soon as you’re checked in they offer you water, tea, soda, etc. Highly recommend

I am really frustrated. I asked and specify the stylist to please just trim it, because I want my hair long. She cut it as short as it has ever been. My hair is curly and takes so long to grow. I am really upset. I explained that I won’t be able to iron it, because I just had a hand surgery yesterday. And is so frustrating, because there is nothing I can do. I explained that it wouldn’t bd flattering for my face shape, etc. I have been going there for 2 years, my old stylist from studio 150 quit and Cindy, was the one that did it this time, the previous time Also, but didn’t cut so much that time. I also told her that I wanted lawyers, because when she blowed dry it, look fine straight, but I always wear it curly. And she knew it. Everytime I look In the mirror I get very upset, because I can’t blow dry it myself for this period of time. Because I had wrist surgery and I am in a cast. I begged her to please not to cut it too much. That I rather not cutting enough, I would come back and pay again. So frustrated!!!

I wanted to buy Groupon because I want to try a new place for hair color but when I called they said just come in and pay them there and it would be the same price. I wanted to get all over color and the lady said she couldn’t do it unless I bleached my whole head to get the color I want. So I told her the other place I went to could do it with my natural hair color so she pretty much told me to go back to that place. She was so rude and unprofessional. If she is more knowledgable about hair, she could help customers but seemed like she didn’t even care. Don’t go!!! It was such a waste of time to make it there and couldn’t get my hair done.

I’ve gotten my hair cut & styled for homecoming by saige and she was amazing! Super sweet gal, and is good at what she does. Today I got a balayage done by destiny who is also super bubbly and extremely sweet, and I am in LOVE with the results!

A while back I had a Groupon, so I set my appointment, and they set me up with Joseph. He was amazing. Well, I had another appointment a few months ago, and 2 days prior they called and said he no longer works there and to try to set me up with someone else. Really 2 days? I’m very picky about my stylist, so when I find a good one I stay with him/​her. I said no. Now, I can’t have Joseph do my hair because the owner of Studio150 is blocking him from doing any clients that apparently she thinks are hers just because you step foot into her shop. I follow my stylist wherever he/​she goes, so the owner has now F*d up my hair because I can’t get it done till she’s through being petty.
I’m not her property/​client. If I want to follow my stylist I can without having to worry about her going after my stylist.

I’m so happy I found Teresa at this salon. She REALLY knows color, and being a redhead I know how it’s hard to find someone who «gets» red.

Absolutely an incredible experience! I have been to Studio 150 twice now to see Destiny Andress, who is as incredibly talented as she is sweet and attentive. Destiny took The time to do a thorough consultation with me about my desires look and how we were going to reach my goals. She gave me a highlighted boliage that is to die for! Her coloring skills are extremely on point. The salon is very clean and modern with a warm, friendly, vibrant atmosphere. The owner is great and has been present during both my visits there and works along side her employees. Something that sets this salon apart is there upbeat encouragement towards one another. Very positive. I will defiantly return to Studio 150 and encourage others to step foot in the door and receive an absolutely outstanding time of beatification.

Well I first of all would like to say that my Stylist Destiny did a phenomenal job on my hair extensions. Shes the sweetest most warm friendly person. Loved her. I wish that I could rate her instead. She seems to do her job well and follows the rules of the salon. Rules that make no sense at all.
I was worried about coming in for my appointment at first. I initially called to inquire about hair extensions and check to see if they were skilled wit Hothead hair, which my sister whos a stylist in California, loves and recommended to me. So I found out that studio 150 had a girl who did them. I was happy to go in for the consultation after checking out the website regarding prices. I went in to speak to Megan and she matched my color and quoted me for the hair, we also discussed pricing for a root color which she said would be only 60. She mentioned the service would be 150.00 $. I was happy with that and agreed to move forward so I paid for the hair, three packs total at about 600 $ and scheduled an appointment.
So two days later I get a call from someone at the salon, they left a message saying that Megan is no longer employed there and that another girl would be doing my hair. So I’m a bit worried, thinking well, why is this girl that I had a consultation with just two days ago no longer employed there, and what could have happened. I decided to go in anyway and took a chance.
When I got their I was immediately greeted by Destiny and offered a cold beverage while I waited just a few minutes for her to prepare. She came to grab me and sat me down at her station and then the owner walks over. Announces that I must be the «extension girl, and then pulls my stylist aside. They were exchanging information about the service, almost in a way where the owner didn’t want me to hear.
It was a very uncomfortable moment and I felt left out. I’m the client so I’m thinking that i should be included about the services. So when my stylist comes back she explains to me that its going to be a much higher price than what I was originally told. Its not just 150 $ for the service its per pack of hair, which i purchased 3. Then I was told they ordered too much hair and I had to take hair home with me. Also the owner tells the stylist to charge me a 10 $ fee to do my root color on top of the 60 $ because I have long HAIR? How does this make sense? I could understand if you pulled the color all the way through and used more product so charge more to cover the cost, sure. But this definitely was not the case. How is this justified? I later thought how many people went along with it. Silly me being one of them.
All pricing should have been a closed book after the consultation with Megan and after I already invested in the hair. Extensions are a long term commitment and all of these details about pricing should have been disclosed before this appointment. I felt so awkward even mentioning anything at this point when your trusting these people to do your hair. But again Destiny was great. All she was doing is listening to the owner.
I call the salon to clarify what the price of the «move up» would be, because after all of that I needed to be sure, and it was told to me that per «pack of hair it would be 150 $ to move each of them up and 62 $ for the roots. I have two and a half packs in so it would be a total of 454. Mind you this is something that needs to be done every 6 – 8 weeks. So include a tip and Ive already paid over 1000 $ at this point. In a month or so more I’m supposed to pay almost 500 more? No!
I then contact my family in California who recommended I get this service done and who are knowledgeable in the hair world. They were amazed at the pricing, explained to me what it should have been and suggested I call around in the area to other salons who provide the service to see what they charge. I was shocked to find out that a local business in the greater Seattle area would only charge me a total of 75 $ for root color, and 175 $ to move my hair up. This is what my sister says that her price is as well as my Aunts price.
So my point is Studio 150 (owner) is over priced, not knowledgeable, non competitive, unreasonable, unprofessional and I will never return.

Love this place! I have been going to Teresa for two years and my hair has never looked better. She really listens to her clients’ hair goals. We formed a plan to go lighter without using harsh bleach on my baby fine hair and treatments to help it grow in a healthy manner. Xoxo!

I wish I could give separate reviews for different Stylists. I have seen Acacia for balayage and she was awesome. Absolutely zero complaints about her or my experience.
Unfortunately, I just went in for a haircut that I scheduled with a different Stylist because I couldn’t get in with Acacia and I was not at all happy with my experience. Even though I explained that all I wanted was a very basic trim and bang trim she spent a solid 20 – 25 minutes trying to sell me various products (even after I told her I was on a timeline to get back to my 2 year old), putting random things in my hair (serious overkill!) and then another 20 minutes actually trimming. I was pretty shocked to see the cost of my 45 minute trim that should have taken 20 minutes and the additional $ 10 she added for a long hair charge– which was absolutely ridiculous and should 100% BE DISCLOSED AHEAD OF TIME. Extra annoyance when she didn’t thank me after tipping her– that’s just common courtesy! A really weird experience … there are just too many salons in Kirkland to settle for unfair upcharges and poor service.
If you go– stick with a Stylist that has been recommended to you and don’t do a ‘walk-​in’ appt.

I was visiting Kirkland in business and randomly stopped at Studio 150 as a walk-​in. Cindy the manager greeted me with enthusiasm and worked around my schedule that day to fit in a cut and beautiful color job. Even though I’m not local I was treated like a longtime client. With warmth, professionalism and kindness. I trusted Cindy to give me bangs and change me to a much blonder tone and she did an amazing job. I love my hair and was just so impressed by the treatment I received. I highly recommend this salon for those who live in Kirkland or if you’re just passing through!

Joseph is amazing! I have fine, wavy and frizzy hair but Joseph was able to walk me through the styling process with the correct product (s). Love my haircut and color.
I’m very picky with color and Joseph got it on my first visit. Enough said:))

Unfortunately, I can’t leave a review of services because none of my phone calls to set up an appointment have been returned which I guess tells me all I need to know about this salon.

I have been seeing Acacia for over 3 years now and absolutely love the way my hair looks everytime. It also helps that she has an amazing personality and I look forward to seeing her. I have long hair and began as a brunette and have gradually gone blonde over the years which is hard to do without ruining your hair. I work as a bartender/​manager and always get asked where I get my hair done which is why I thought I would write a review. She is constantly learning ways to improve her craft which shows her dedication to giving people the look and feel they want. My mom actually goes to her now and still says she wishes she knew about her and Studio 150 sooner.
The staff is so friendly when you walk in the door and they are always making sure you are well taken care of, offering you a beverage before you begin your style and cut. Love this place and will always come back.

Love my hair color! Cindi is so wonderful and so creative. From the moment I walked I could see that the stylists really loved their jobs and were such a part of the salon. I have been to several salons in Kirkland and I would choose this one many times over.

I got home and noticed my shirt was stained on the sleeve, the haircut was uneven, barely anything cut for $ 60. The color left my roots as dark as when I arrived. Not worth $$$.

The Owner has excellent customer service!

I came to this saloon to style (only) my hair last Thursday. They took me 20 mins late than my appointment (I parked at 2 hour street parking); I washed my hair at home already, and I asked for a reverse French braid at the front and fish tail braid on the rest of the hair.
1 hour and 30 mins later (10 mins before my parking expires), I had NO braids whatsoever yet, and I was offered to do a twist at the back and pin my hair at the side.
I literary had 7 mins left (I had an event to go in Seattle), I said to do just whatever feels we can do in a few mins.
This very combed up and old fashioned hairdo made me look exactly 10 years older .
We had professional photographer taken photos and I look 50 y old, old fashion, with ridiculously huge head.
my BF did not like my hairdo at all, he is 8 years older but I looked like his mother .
It was a BIG event in Seattle and I spend $ 90 and 2 hours just to style my hair, I wanted him to be proud how good i looked but I looked weird .
I would never understand — I walk in this studio and ask for 2 braids on my hair; in 2 hours i leave looking like nanny McPhee.
Very sad.

I’ve seen Emily twice now (third appointment is booked) and she does an AMAZING job every time. She always works around my budget, pays attention to detail & boosts my self confidence.
Since seeing her, I can already see a huge difference in the healthiness of my hair. She recommends affordable products & always has good ideas about styling my hair. I can’t thank her enough for what she does for me! I would recommend her to anyone. She does my aunt, cousins & numerous of my friends hair.
Also, she keeps the conversation going and an appointment with her goes by way to fast in my opinion! I love seeing her! The salons always clean & very comfortable. Hope this review helps anyone questioning to go here or not :)

I’m new to the area… I stopped in the other day for a hair cut with Regina. Wanted to go much shorter. She did a good job, but once I got home I wasn’t really happy with it/​which was my fault for not communicating what I wanted exactly. So I called the following day and got back in. Took a picture with me and she cut it exactly like it! Regina is great!!!
