This company reached out to me for job opportunities.
The rapport and conversation surrounding our 30+ deep email thread appeared good. We discussed job requirements, skill set, compensation requirements among other things. Everything was in agreement. Positivity and excitement all around.
After a week’s time we had a quick meetup. A simple meet and greet and preparation for interviewing. Nothing too fancy. A couple of laughs, hand shakes and we were all on our way.
Advance one week later. Not a single email, phone call following the meetup. The whole prior setup staged just hanging in limbo. I proceeded to reach out and was given a sub-​standard terse reply with it doesn’t appear this is a good fit.
This is just bad business. This is an example of a poorly executed venture between a business and it’s prospective client. While I understand target hiring companies can give the end result stated here, it doesn’t quite gel with being lead so deep down the aforementioned process. Not to mention left hung out to dry for a week with no reply about the end result. I was reached out to from the start and profiled as a good fit in a mere few emails.
My gut reaction. The meet and greet was a source of more profiling which makes me feel like one of my protected statuses enforced by federal law were violated. A second reaction is that this joker doing recruiting really did do that horrible of a job in the execution of the recruitment process.
Either way. This was a terrible experience. I’ve altered my life to be more on guard because of this.
Ending. With so many options for job searching and recruiting companies out there I absolutely can’t recommend this company to anyone. I truly hope they clean up their act as i’m offended by this experience.

I’ve been a contractor through Summit Group for a little over a year now. My manager at Summit treated me really well, gave me respect, was always helpful if I had any HR problems, and most importantly helped me find a position that was a great match for me and also gave me really great advice when navigating opportunities as they came along. Besides my manager, my experience with Summit has just been really smooth. They’re good about communicating not so little that you have no connection to them at all, but not so much you feel they are distracting, maybe once a month or less depending on my current situation. I’ve had a great experience with them and highly recommend joining them.
