I am known as «Nanny Angie» and I have been caring for children for over 20 years of all ages from newborn to teenage. Upon moving to Kirkland, I registered with several local nanny agencies including «Seattle Nanny Network» as an «on call» nanny. Their beautiful location is within a close proximity to me in downtown Kirkland. The owner, Emily — quickly addresses any concerns one may have. The application process is very in depth, with numerous essay questions, and lots of reference checks. I have several excellent reference letters from prior families as a part of my presentation package, however they called and emailed to verify each one, confirmed it all, also requested more references, as many as I could provide which I gladly did. With each potential position, they offer the nanny very detailed family descriptions which helps determine compatibility and eliminates the guess work. I’m very thankful to be on their list of trusted nannies.

I used the SNN service for periodic help vs PT or FT nanny service and I would NOT recommend them for this type of service. Despite their claim that they can provide last minute help and the same general pool of nannies for consistancy, this is simply not true. I was also very disappointed in the caliber of the women they sent over. I suspect the best nannies are reserved for the FT and PT work (understandably) — you really get the «leftovers» for periodic sitter help. We never received the same person twice and the women did not have adequate prep work nor did they seem to care.

I’ve been a nanny for over ten years and was truly impressed with the Seattle Nanny Network. Their screening process was very thorough and comprehensive and they were «on the ball» with my application. I was given the opportunity to interview with a number of potential families right off the bat and found a perfect fit! All in all, they were very supportive and upfront throughout the whole process.

We looked at a variety of nanny services. We only wanted part-​time service, not a full-​time nanny. A couple of local agencies could handle that, but Seattle Nanny had a very robust website that clearly explained how it worked. They are definitely the most plugged-​in and forward-​looking nanny service I found in the Seattle area.
In the months since we started, we’ve had great results. SNN sends us a resume/​profile of each nanny candidate for us to review. We tried a variety of part-​time nannies, all of whom were professional and responsible, and eventually we found one who was a perfect fit for us.
We’ve been working with her for a while now and despite our many schedule changes and requests, both our SNN rep and our nanny have been helpful and courteous. We really like our nanny and have no reservations about recommending SNN. On the rare occasion when we need a nanny at an odd time and our usual nanny isn’t available, SNN has found someone for us.
When we went to Portland for the weekend, SNN even hooked us up with a nanny service down there who could provide an in-​hotel nanny for a few hours one night during our visit. That really saved our trip and I’m grateful to SNN for helping us make it happen.
