The only good thing about Trellis was their friendly hosts. Other than that, it was the biggest let down. Service was poor. The server didn’t even introduce herself and always seemed to be in a rush(with only 4 tables seated in the entire restaurant). For how slow it was, our entrees took 30mins after our first course was cleared. Food was bland, over or undercooked, and dishes were not appetizing. I usually give a restaurant a second look, but this place is not even worth going back.

Over priced restaurant in a very nice hotel in Kirkland, Washington. I ate dinner here 3 times and lunch once and overall I probably would give them a very good rating for food and fair to good rating for service. I ordered the fresh squash ravioli, burger and a chicken dish which were all very good. However, the service was lacking a bit and could have stepped up to make this meal very good.

We came here for Mommies that Brunch and it’s located in the super cute Heathman Hotel in Kirkland. There’s street parking and a parking garage close by which is always a plus. Not too many patrons on a Monday morning so we had great service. I got the egg white omelet with crab for $ 21 and coffee for $ 4.25. The omelet was super stuffed with crab(+) but it was also filled with quite a few crab shells(boo!). It came with a side of salad which was pretty heavily dressed. The coffee was good and overall I had a good experience but it was pretty pricey for what I got. Our friend brought a toddler who loved to hear his own voice so he got a little loud at times but the waitstaff was very gracious and never complained about the little guy’s vocal cords. Thank you!

Love this farm to table restaurant for an early birthday dinner! Delicious food & the 3 for $ 33 deal is great! I had grilled salmon with watercress & baked apples which was a $ 6 add on & worth every bite! 4 instead of 5 stars as I wasn’t too impressed with the appetizer options on the $ 33 menu & the entrees didn’t have any fish options unless you paid extra. Plus the blueberry apple cobbler for dessert wasn’t the best I’ve had, more like a shortcake than cobbler, but all in all a delicious meal! :)

Ordered the tomato soup and it was not that great. Wished they substituted the chips for fries instead when we ordered fish and chips. The fish was bland and didn’t have much flavor. The fruit plate was super disappointing and bland and pricey. Overall, nothing special and totally overpriced.

We live in the area and eat in downtown Kirkland a few times a week. Have never tried Trellis but on a quiet Monday night thought we would stop in. Waited 30 mins for a glass of wine that never came and we walked out. Was not busy, our server was spending his time looking at his screen. There are so many other great restaurants in downtown Kirkland with great service, don’t waste your time. We are sorry we did and won’t be coming back.

Great location and food is solid. The front of the house staff is inconsistent … and most recently unprofessional. The drinks took 30 minutes to arrive and then the hostess was doing her side work in the dining area which was making such a racket that we couldn’t hear one another talking. We pointed it out and the two female hostesses proceeded to mock us where we could see them. If I were running the place I would fire them both. The chef is good and should take his show on the road in my opinion.

Was lucky enough to have tasting menu here as part of the Unilocal Elite event and the food didn’t disappoint. Fresh food, seriously farm to table people, and a nice variety of constantly changing culinary options. Big thing to note: Happy hour runs from 2 – 6 and is worth checking out.

My go-to place for weekend brunch and happy hour! I especially love their corned beef hash dish and Kirkland Breakfast plate. Food is nicely prepared, service is quick and friendly. Plus, I love their welcome donuts!

Came here for an early dinner and we had last minute change in our reservation that they so kindly accommodated us by seating us at the nice large table in the lobby. It was actually a nice ambiance, much quieter than the actual restaurant and there was plenty of people watching as people came and went from the busy hotel. As far as the food goes, their cheese and meat platters were very well paired with the various jams, jellies, and the like and in generous portions for an appetizer. I had their trout for my entrée which was buttery and amazing. I also had a taste of their hanging steak, which was cooked on the rare side of medium rare, but also good. As for dessert, I had the fortune of trying their lemon sage flan, blueberry(with either pears or apple) cobbler, and their cookies. The first two were really good(nice balance of flavors and sweetness), but the cookies just crumbled in my hands. I don’t know if they were gluten free cookies or whatnot, but I expected soft, buttery cookies, and reality did not meet with expectations.

I was really looking forward to dinning here again after such great food and service at the elite event, unfortunately I won’t be back. The highlight of my meal was the 3 hour salad which is amazing by the way! They pick the vegetables used in the salad at 2pm and by 5pm the salad, only using those super fresh picked vegetables is on their dinner menu. The night we went is featured amazing heirloom tomatoes, and fresh purple basil. The rest of the meal was sub par. My husband got the pork dish with apples, and the sauce was super sweet, and the pork overcooked and rubbery. I got their beef dish that was offered with their three course special. The beef was overcooked, the sauce watery and the vegetables were way overcooked. Also our entrees came out luke warm like they had been forgotten about. Service was dismal. Super slow and sometimes non existent. No one even came by to check how our food was once they dropped it off. I had to get up and refill my own water glass since I couldn’t get anyone’s attention to ask for more water. My husband had wanted a second beer, but no one ever stopped by. They offer free valet parking when you dine there which was a nice perk.

Food was so fresh and yummy! I had the filet mignon that was delicious with blue cheese on top and potatoes! So tender and juicy. Also had a side of sweet corn and peppers yummm. My dad had the scallops that were very tasty. No left overs this time!

This is an actual letter that I wrote to Trellis after a ***terrible*** experience we had on August 1. I guess the icing on the cake is that I’ve not heard a word back from Trellis. We won’t be going there again. «This is the first time I’ve ever written a letter like this. My husband and I have been going to Trellis for several years. Quite honestly, it is my favorite place to go on a warm summer evening and we dine here several times a month during the summer and fall. On Saturday, August 1, everything changed… and for the first time in our lives, we didn’t leave a tip. We had the worst waitress imaginable. She was, hands down, the worst waitress we have ever had and we dine out regularly. We arrived at Trellis at about 5:30pm and were greeted by a very pleasant hostess who seated us outside. Everything was perfect, until we met our waitress, Deborah. These are just the highlights of her behavior: ~ She took our drink order(no smiles, no eye contact, very abrupt and unfriendly). We told her we weren’t quite ready to order food yet and asked if she could leave the menus. She turned away in a very annoyed manner and did not respond. ~ As Deborah left our table, she began scolding the hostess very loudly because someone didn’t have water or menus yet. There is no doubt that everyone in the outside seating area heard this. The poor hostess was humiliated and went to find another waitress. ~ Our drinks arrived, but not a word was spoken. Nothing. Also, my glass of wine was about ½ the amount that it usually is. ~ When we ordered our food(two flatbreads), she informed us that this was ‘quite a lot of food for two people’. What?! When we finished, we were thinking about ordering something else, but… didn’t want to deal with what Deborah might have to say about that. ~ When the flatbreads arrived, she pretty much slid them onto the table and left in a huff. Again, no words were exchanged. ~ Not once did she stop by to see how everything was. The food was very good(as it always is), but the service was a 0 star. ~ The icing on the cake happened when she actually tossed our booklet tab on our table as she walked by. She didn’t make eye contact, she didn’t say ‘thank you’, she just tossed it on the table and the pen flew out. We are not difficult customers and try to be very kind and understanding to waiters and waitresses, but this was just too much! I hope you will take the appropriate actions to ensure that other customers are not treated in such a poor manner in the future. This woman, Deborah, should not be working as a waitress at Trellis or anywhere. If this were my first time dining at Trellis, I would definitely not be returning and I would tell everyone I know not to dine here. I don’t know when we will be going back to Trellis. p. s. I want to compliment the man(I didn’t get his name) who brings water and refreshes water. He has been there for several years and he is always very polite and smiling. He should be the waiter!!»

The strangest experience with a wait person ever. Deborah, you may be in the wrong profession. Saturday afternoon(7÷25÷15), gray & drizzly, 3 of us decide to stop in for drinks, apps, lunch. We were seated outside and there were only a few other tables filled. Deborah was clearly not up for us to be leisurely deciding what to order. She wasn’t just having a bad day; this was clearly her general demeanor. When we ordered food, she said, «Well, you keep asking about the 2 hour salad» as if she was just annoyed that we weren’t ordering it. When my friend received her chopped salad order(which was not the usual ‘chopped’) she asked Deborah whether this was the right salad to which Deborah curtly said, «Yes, it’s chopped… see?!» The other friend asked if Deborah could bring us another plate since they were sharing the chopped salad to which Deborah said, «You have 3 plates!» — pointing at the tiny app plates. It just never got better. Perhaps it’s a lack of training or management. This was my first visit and my last. There are just too many other choices where people prove they want your business.

Solid place tucked away in DT Kirkland. It is a more fancy, small portion place, but each dish is made with excellent ingredients designed to bring out their natural flavors. I got to meet the Chef Brian personally and see his personal farm where he grows all sorts of organic fruits and vegetables and uses them in his dishes! * 2 hour salad — Super fresh salad, literally picked 2 hours before it’s served. Quite small, but the tomatoes were super sweet and delicious. * Beet salad — Solid deep beety flavor * Flat bread — Made with housemade wheat flour, cheese, and vegetables. The particular one I had uses * Cheesecake — a light fluffy cheesecake * Trellis Cookies — Very dense and rich cookies

Trellis is hands down fantastic in sooo many ways. I went here for a Unilocal Elite event and found it to be an excellent experience. Most of their produce comes from a farm a few miles away and it is often picked on the very day it is served. One of my favorite food items was the ‘2 hour salad’ that consists of produce picked two hours ago. Not to mention they are really minimizing the carbon footprint of their food by doing this. The other highlights of the meal were squash blossom pizza, peanut butter and chocolate cookies and strawberry sorbet. The cocktails were also phenomenal. My favorites were the ivy(cucumber & st. germaine) and a pomegranate basil concoction. I will definitely head back here for another meal soon and highly recommend it.

Came here for brunch on a Saturday and got in easily. Ordered the Spicy Omelet. It came with avocado, cheddar & salsa. The salsa could have been a bit more spicy, but overall, the dish was scrumptious delicious. Trellis Burger: 8oz. house-made patty, served on a brioche roll with Huntsman cheese, Berkshire bacon, and a side of French fries. The bacon was thick and succulent. French fries are skinny and crunchy. Server and hosts were amicable.

This was my first time going to Trellis in Kirkland. My family and I had heard great things about the food and overall ambiance of the restaurant. They were all very true! From wine to dessert this place was amazing. We had the snails for an appetizer, delicious. For my meal I had the gnocchi, it was tasty but could use more sauce. Lastly, my favorite part of every meal, the desert! Warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream :)

We came here for a seattle restaurant week, and it was a fantastic dining experience. I had the cheesesteak and he had the mushroom burger. Both serves were filling, and the sweet potato fries with the cheesesteak were crispy and delicious. The salad was really fresh too. The cheesesteak itself could have done with a bit more meat since the bread was a bit overwhelming. The mushroom burger was good, but not spectacular, although the ingredients in it tasted really fresh too. Dessert was small but tasty. The chocolate and peanut butter cookies were delicious and came with a little pot of melted chocolate to dip in. I had the pear sorbet and it was light and very pear-y. It also came with a ginger cookie which complemented it well. The restaurant was about half full, but we had very attentive service. After each course was brought out our server(I wish I got her name!) came to see if we needed anything and how the meal was going. Our waters were refilled regularly and our empty dishes were removed promptly. The outdoor seating was a little chilly on a rainy day, but they try to keep the heat in with plastic shades. There’s plenty of parking at the library next door or along kirkland way.
