Regarding Take out– the food was not ready when we got there and once we took it home the burger that was supposed to be cooked medium was rare at best and inedible. The fries with the other order were sweet potato instead of regular fries. Needless to say, take out is not recommended.

First time here. We were at the Magic House down the street with the kids. It was an upscale bar. Outside patio had a man playing some acoustic music. The kids loved the food and so did we. It was a little warmer on the inside but that was due to the 110 heat index outside. The only thing we didnt like was the prices. It was a little bit more expensive then we would have hoped. I mean $ 3.59 upcharge for a small salad, geez. I would recommend this to a friend.

Been here so many times and just realized I have never left a review. Great patio, big menu, good bar area. It is a great place for a casual meal or drinks. Be careful, there is almost always a wait for the patio but the inside bar is first come

Not impressed, very expensive for what it is and add $ 3.59 to sub a house salad? Food was bland, service was good, clean and nice atmosphere. Nothing and I mean nothing remotely healthy on the menu, so if you’re watching what you eat don’t eat here. Too many other places to spend $ here again.

Love this place! Great food, awesome patio. The Nachos are stellar, it’s also a great spot to get friends together for drinks. The host staff seems a little overwhelmed which makes them more mechanical than friendly. Service staff is great and always on top of your needs. Good spot for kids too.

Overall, this is a pretty enjoyable place. It is pretty well spaced out, so you never feel on top of any other tables. The food has been good, and the drinks have bee on point(aka: strong). The outdoor seating is a nice addition. Everything is decorated well and has a very«open cabin» feeling, if that makes sense(a lot of glass/windows). My biggest gripe has been with service. The wait staff is certainly friendly enough, but holy hell, are they slow. They aren’t very attentive at all and any time I wanted/needed anything I had to go out of my way to get the attention of whichever waiter was closest(not even my designated wait-person) to get a drink refill or to even pay my bill. The most recent time I was there, it wasn’t busy at all and they service was still dreadful. I understand that you want your guests to have uninterrupted conversation, but being completely absent is the wrong technique. It also seemed to take forever just to get our food and drinks to arrive at our table. Additionally, every table outside is so off balanced and crooked that we had to hold our drinks and withhold from leaning on the table at all. That really took away from the outdoor experience. The service/speed is really holding this place back from being great. The food and drinks are great, but basically having to force the wait-staff to be attentive completely eliminates that quality. And a small gripe is the outdoor table engineering(although not the restaurants’ creation, it should be addressed, in my opinion). Having a great drink is only great when you aren’t spilling it all over the place. I was probably just better off standing.

Staff is GREAT. Nice patio. Management sucks and food is so so. To bad because the staff makes this place.

I would consider Billy G’s an upscale sports bar/restaurant with patio. In this category I am stuck between 4 and 5 stars. Nearest thing I can compare it to is J Bucks? Maybe? Atmosphere is great. Clean, with interesting detail/décor. Great for a special night out with family and friends. Most tables have a good view at a tv for sporting events. They have a kid menu, but no crayons. Kid friendly, but probably not toddler friendly :) The service was good. We had a 20 min wait to get our table, but I sort of expected that with a popular newer restaurant. Once seated, our waiter was friendly and attentive, and the food came out quickly. Menu options were quite varied. More Italian food than most(if not all) others in this category. The mussels were really great, garlicky with good spice just how we like them. The pita and hummus plate was to die for. Cheeseburger, meatloaf, and fettuccine Alfredo were also good. Beer and wine selection were good. My better half had no complaints on the Chardonnay. The beer selection is good as well featuring mostly local craft beers. They have some nice looking cocktails that I might try next time. All in all I’m going 5 stars instead of 4 because I think the 3.5 star average is probably not fair given the quality of our experience. Prices are a bit high relative to other nearby restaurants, but portions were huge and quality was better than other nearby restaurants.

One of the best burgers I’ve had. Super flavorful burger, quality bacon, and awesome sweet potato fries. Any place that has an Arnold Palmer on the menu is ok by me. Great waiter. Can’t wait to go back when the weather is better to sit on the patio.

Hi– near the time that this place opened(2 years ago), my family and I went to try it. As most new restaurants, the place was very crowded. We took a seat on the patio and listened to some live entertainment. We ended up waiting for 30+ minutes, but when we got to go inside and see the restaurant, it was very elegant with nice finishes that made everything just a little more classy than the restaurant that was there before. We ended up not being able to sit on the patio, but an indoor table with large windows near our seat made it still feel very comfortable. When we saw the menu, it was kind of overwhelming. There were many choices even for my two girls who are very picky. We ended up ordering pizza as suggested by our waiter. Everything was good. However, when my husband went up to pick up the bill, he realized just how expensive everything was. I apologize for not writing this review sooner, but we should be back; look for an updated review soon :)

Don’t go on a weekend unless it is an off hour as they get crazy busy. For a Saturday nite, the 40 minute wait was not bad. I had the 1 lb bbq pork steak. Very tasty, plus 2 sides. Lots of sweet potato fries. My friend had the fish and chips with 2 sides and said it was very good. Good food and good service is a good deal and reasonable priced. The only problem is city street parking and the train station lot is all too crowded. It is a big and strung out place, so parts can be very noisy. Luckily we got all the way back and not as loud, so we could almost hear each other talk… lol.

My husband and I love to eat at Billy G’s. Great location, great mix of crowd. We’ve sat at the bar a few times and at a table a few and each location was great. The newly remodeled patio looks great, can’t wait to get out there and use it. The staff has been superbly friendly and accommodating each time we go in to eat. The food is wonderful! The crab cakes are cooked perfectly and very full of crab. The shrimp and grits are great. Ribs– fantastic! Tuna — amazing. Can’t go wrong here.

We really enjoy this place. Whether it’s sitting in the bar, or sitting in the dining area. The food is always delicious, I have never had a bad meal. My daughters favorite burger is the Billy burger is hands-down one of the best. The burgers are always cooked just right, never chewy. Very TASTY! The fries are awesome. The Caesar salad is DELICIOUS, and man it’s big as well. Wing sauce is killer. Staff is always great. Very clean, great menu selection.

I love this place. Lunch and dinner are great. Additionally, I enjoy heading over to the bar on Sundays to watch NFL games. The food is consistently good, and the bar selection is very good. Everyone is helpful and pleasant. The outdoor bar and patio is amazing. on a nice spring/fall/summer night try it out. Warning, the wait can be extremely long for a table. This is a popular place that is extremely busy during the usual meal time hours. Overall, this is a great place if you are in the Kirkwood area. If you arent in the area, it may be worth a drive over to enjoy a beer on the patio.

Had drinks here one night on the patio. Great outdoor seating and live music. They screwed up my order on the flat bread pizza. After it arrived and I saw what it was and that it wasn’t how I ordered it I decided that I’d probably prefer one of the other pizzas instead of the same pizza remade correctly. The waitress tried to accommodate me but the manager came over and acted like I was trying to pull some sort of scam. He said he would only remake the same pizza. So I told them to box it up and I ordered the other pizza that I wanted. Neither pizza was very good. The patio, music, and friendly waitress brought this 1 star review up a star. This was a few months ago and I haven’t been back.

Large portions of tasty Italian and American food. Try the nachos! So good. It gets crowded-so make reservations if you can.

Super busy and loud but we got seated a lot faster than I thought we would. We ordered the trashed wings, twice, they were incredible. Definitely recommend those. I kind of wish I had gotten them for dinner. The house salad was good, reminded me of a good salad I get at a restaurant in Indiana called Casa(but not quite that good). The shrimp and grits was OK, there were a lot of really strong flavors that didn’t necessarily mesh well. The sausage was really soft and almost had kind of a pine taste to it, overall I wasn’t thrilled about the main course.

I dressed up and came here with co-workers after an ex-co-worker suggested this place for bbq. Unfortunately they do not take phone reservations, however the 45 minute anticipated wait for a Thursday night table was actually only 15 minutes which was just enough time to down a few cold soda waters. This place has a super trendy ambiance; I especially like the out door patio that is appealing to the eye with the heatless lamps and various fire fixtures. If it wasn’t –2 degrees outside, and the lamps actually emitted heat, I’d maybe consider asking for a patio seat upon my next visit. As for the food– I went with my gut and ordered the Pork Steak… And you know the saying. «You are what you eat»… Oink. Well it was enormous(as is my stomach) as I barely finished ¼ of it. My entrée was accompanied with corn bread and a side salad with dressing that was straight from the hidden valley. While I won’t be coming back for the salad dressing, you can count on me returning for more meat.

A Kirkwood icon! Billy G’s is the beneficiary of an amazing location in the city center. But, they’ve taken a space that, at one time, was a funeral parlor… and have transformed it into a gorgeous dining experience. The bar area is perfectly suited for a Sunday game day or a family gathering… with some of the friendliest servers I’ve met. The drink menu is extensive and prepared well. The dining area is equally excellent. The menu features many choices: pastas, burgers, ribs, steaks, pizza, etc. Great appetizers abound. If you can, make a reservation in the spring/summer/fall for the outdoor seating area… it’s a one of a kind setting. With my gluten and dairy allergies, I always get nervous about eating out. Not here… attention to detail is Billy G’s expertise. Try this place… if nothing else, you will love the scenery this time of year. You might even have an excellent dining experience.

Maybe it’s just me. Maybe it’s because I’m not from Missouri, but I found this place to just OK, not A-OK. Eh OK, and being that even our friends who invited us there had to say, «sorry, last time it was better.» I had to go with the lower of the two. Time: Friday night Wait time: 55 minutes Price for four: Food $ 56(3 meals + 1 salad) Drinks $ 30 = $ 91 including tax Food: Mile high meatloaf, Crayfish boil, and Caesar salad. Service: slow(but it was busy after all) Would I return: No Positive points: ~The sausage in the crayfish boil was delicious. ~We were able to grab a beer while we waited outside. ~Patio looks nice Why the 2 out of 5: ~For some reason, with an hour long wait I excepted the food to be a good not OK. ~My friend’s meatloaf though large in portion, the center was mushy. Don’t get me wrong it was cooked, but texture wise it was like baby food. Perhaps it had to do with portion to cooking time ratio? ~Caesar salad was drenched in dressing. ~Everything in the crayfish boil was under-seasoned.(expect the sausage which both the boy on our table thoroughly enjoyed) ~Yes, it was busy, but it took about 20 minutes to get someone to our table. Once we ordered, she checked on us twice. ~Noise level is high. I guess in the end I’ve had better when it comes to price-taste-portion value. Either way, it was an experience nonetheless. I got to spend time with my friends from back home, and have a few drinks.
