We came here on 7÷12÷15 looking to grab something quick to eat before heading to a concert at Prescott Park. Sat ourselves in the bar area inside, the service was incredibly slow. We were here almost two hours, which was beyond frustrating for what we ordered(a salad and onion rings). The menu is also super limited, not at all like the full size menu at their other locations. When I asked our server if I could get grilled shrimp on my Caesar salad, she said no because the shrimp are too small for the grill(?) Anyway, definitely won’t be back. The food was nothing special and the service just killed it for us, there are tons of better options in the area.

At the end of an un assuming road off the side of a side road in Kittery Maine is this nice, party like atmosphere restaurant. With an outdoor seating area overlooking the causeway and a lift bridge so tour boats and other taller vessels can pass, a very friendly staff will bring you amazing drinks and delectable treats from the sea and land. This curmudgeon would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We we’re seated right away as the restaurant was not that busy. Waited for about 20 minutes without the waiter coming over to greet us to take our drink order. We decided to leave and the hostess who seated us said«thanks for coming have a nice day » …umm yeah won’t be going back anytime soon.

Food was ok but service was a little rough. Seemed to be a lot of new staff, maybe it was the seasonal hiring. Unfortunately it took away from our experience. We’ll give it another try later in the season.

Probably one of the best spots in Portsmouth NH in the summer. I know it’s in Kittery ME but the dock that juts out into the water makes it pretty darn close to Portsmouth that there really is no difference. Easier to find parking, The only dock on the water. Maybe the walk over the bridge keeps people away and that’s fine with me. I love this place. Wasting a warm summer afternoon with cold bevies and good company is the best. Great staff, solid food and the view makes this place a destination when the temp gets above 60 degrees.

The view here is beautiful. Right on the water. You can sit outside or inside. We sat inside because it was a little chilly out. But if you sit outside you can watch boats go by and watch seagulls dive at the water. Inside is nice. There is a bar with some local beers on tap. I had a red ale which was good. I can’t remember what it was called. My friend got a margarita which really enjoyed. We got the lobster which was great. It was a good size for the price and came with 2 sides, which really filled you up. My boyfriend got the scallops which he said were kind of bland. The batter they used just fell right off. They should have just pan fried them. The Mac and cheese he got was Kraft Mac and cheese with a little extra cheese. They did say on the menu that it was kraft but he was expecting a little more. They should just make their own Mac and cheese. We also got the clam chowder which was amazing. Didn’t need any extra salt or pepper. It was perfect the way it was. I got corn on the cob with my lobster. The corn cobs medium sized. Very juicy and sweet. Didn’t even need any butter or salt. My friend got the coleslaw with her lobster. I wasn’t a fan of it but she really enjoyed it. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. I gave this place 3 stars because the staff was fast, friendly and attentive. The the food was alright but the location was beautiful and it was all very reasonably priced.

While my family was on vacation in New Hampshire, we decided to visit Maine for a lobster dinner. The Weathervane did a great job representing Maine. The service was awesome, the staff was super helpful and kind. Out two daughters loved every minutes of our time there. The staff made us feel like VIPs from the beginning to end of our meal. We all ordered lobster, some side dishes and clam chowder. The oysters we fresh, the beer was cold and the clam chowder was perfect. I highly recommend this place. We sat right on the water and had an awesome meal. Even a week after our vacation, we’re still talking about the wonderful experience we had there.

Went here twice and had two totally opposite experiences. The first time was great! It was busy, with almost every seat filled. The view is spectacular, and we were promptly greeted & served by the friendly, cheerful & knowledgeable Taylor. We had a couple rounds of drinks(they have good cocktails but they’re not on the menu, so ask!) and enjoyed three kinds of local oysters, shrimp and homemade chips. Taylor was attentive, professional and very nice! We had a great time and were looking forward to going back. The second time, we were expecting a similar experience, and boy were we wrong. We sat ourselves on the sunny deck(the hostess just hands you a menu) and waited… and waited… and waited. No one said«hello,» «we’ll be right with you,» no one gave us a water or took our drink order. For a very, very long time. Actually, never. We watched a group of five come in after us and get served, and watched a couple next to us come in after us and get similarly ignored. It’s a tiny seating arrangement, two rows down the narrow dock, and the only two servers(one tired-looking older lady and a frantic looking younger girl) on the deck walked past us over, and over, and over… and over… with not so much as a «we’ll be right with you.» They just completely ignored us as if we were invisible until I got so upset that we left. And we waited a long time, probably twenty minutes without so much as a «hello» from the only two servers who walked within inches of us again and again. It wasn’t even nearly as busy as the first time we went. Unprofessional and downright rude lack of service. Unacceptable, there’s no excuse for that kind of treatment. First time: four stars! Second time: no service! no stars!

The food isn’t anything to go out of your way for but the view is worth it. A great place to stop in for a nibble and a couple beers. The view is just outstanding.

I’m updating my review because I had another chance to visit this evening and the sign greeting me said«Closed for the Season»! Morrison’s is open and was overflowing with people, Chauncey Creek is open, and there’s the Weathervane telling me that the season is over. I’ve been dodging tourists downtown all day, but the season is over. Riiiiight. So I’ve really got to say that I’m disappointed. We went to Hebert Brothers, got some Fried Seafood plates for less than the Weathervane would have charged us, and had an awesome view. I’m concerned with the Weathervane’s management. No one takes this place seriously. Even if it’s just your test kitchen, why don’t you open when people want to eat and make some money? How can you get it so right with the cheap fried seafood plates at the other restaurants and get it so wrong here? And I know you’re doing something right. The cars parked in front of HQ say it all, or maybe Bentleys just fall from the sky? Seriously, if you’re successful, then good for you. But keep the damn Badger’s Island restaurant open as much as the competition! One more trip to a closed restaurant and you’re losing a star from your 3 star rating. Oh, I’ve uploaded some pictures from your deck. It would have been nice to be seeing those views while we were eating dinner, but the Hebert Brothers took care of us. Great view though. You’re in a nice spot.

This is the best place to eat or drink in the portsmouth area. The Atmosphere is second to None. You eat on a pier overlooking the river and Downtown Portsmouth. Amazing. If you come during a Sunset, you will never want to eat anyplace else. The food is great(a little limited on selection — mainly seafood), the staff is very friendly and its a great place to escape the tourists. The only thing I hate about this place is that they are only open Memorial Day until Labor Day. They need to be open more. Did I mention how awesome this setting was? It’s incredible. Go here during a summer day and you will not be disappointed.
