Rent some fun for your next vacation! Bikes, kayaks, boards, and beach essentials… we’ve got you covered. We have bikes for the whole family including beach cruisers, kids bikes, baby seat bikes, and pull behind trailers and tagalongs. We also offer tandems, adult 3 wheelers, and fat tire bikes.

We rent SUP, surf, and body boards, as well as single and double sit on top kayaks ready for the ocean or sound. Our beach items include umbrellas, chairs and corn hole. We have daily and weekly rates with weekly delivery from Duck to Nags Head. We accept orders in the store, over the phone or online with PayPal.

We are conveniently located just off the beach road and close to the bike friendly streets and paths that the area offers.

Would definitely recommend. I always rent bikes regardless of where I’m at. The guy who owned the shop was extremely nice and gave me some insight on the good places to eat, and cool sights to see. He told us the things that weren’t really worth doing and what were. Super cool company, prices were great and it’s always great to support a local company.

Super nice local folks rented us bikes for the day and gave us excellent and specific directions for an excellent day ride to get some exercise and see the sites. They will help you get around without dealing with traffic. Inexpensive fun, really nice folks. We will be back!

We had a flat tire on our stroller and stopped by to see if they had an air pump. The guy went out of his way to help us, and didn’t charge. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We did not rent anything, but I would go back if we were in the market!

I have rented road bikes from Mike every summer for the past 7 years. He runs a great shop, is fair, and is a small businessman we should all support. Had a flat one year and the pump didn’t work, he refunded me part of my week’s charge. Highly recommend.

Great bikes at great prices. Mike is very personable and takes the time to size the bikes and map out trip options… and gives you the map. He just got in the sand bikes with the huge tires as well. Here is a bike shop that turned to renting. He knows the bikes and they are an incredible ride. Will go there again.

I go past this place several times a day and I see the owner talking with people and wearing an apron. When a friend asked where she could take her tire to get a new tube I suggested she go here. It’s a bike store right? She called me back to say they don’t do repairs anymore. A bike store but no repairs, ok.

Great bike shop on the Outer Banks. I’ve rented road bikes here several times when we come down for vacation. The bikes are in great condition and set up properly.
If you want to save the trouble of bringing your own bike, you can trust these guys to put you on a quality bike at a good price for the week.

I rented a road bike to keep up training during family vacation last year. The quality of bike and service was great. He helped me map out a really nice 25 bike loop. I remember it fondly and called about a bike again this year. Michael was totally helpful. I really liked my bike last time and he said it’s because he’s a fitter and that can really make the difference. If I didn’t live across the country I’d buy my next bike here.

The owner, Mike is fantastic. My fiancée brought his tri bike down to Duck to ride during our vacation. To transport it, he took it apart but couldn’t get it back together again. We happened upon this shop (via the advice of locals). Mike put it together quickly, for free, and wouldn’t let us give him any money. He was not only generous, but he was a good guy. He had a gentle, easy way about him — striking up genuine conversation with all of his visitors, like he was an old friend. I recommend either of his two shops to anyone visiting the OBX.
I rarely give perfect scores to businesses. They most certainly deserve it. I heard him helping other people ahead of us in line and he knows his stuff.

As a first time visitor to OBX, I did not know what’s the «best» bike rental to go. I stopped by Mike’s (the owner) shop by accident. This is a very small self-​owned business that you won’t find coupons in the big magazines you get at the resort or hotel. But it is DEFINITELY worth coming and rent your bike here.
The owner is very friendly, he will explain all the bike route to you in detail. If you come during the low season, you can get a $ 15 dollar for a week rental!!! The price is unbeatable, and the service is unbeatable. If i come back again, I will definitely come here and rent bike from him!
Keep in mind, he does have higher tier of bike for rental, of course, at a higher rate.

I brought my own bike to town and upon arrival found it needed repair. I called Kitty Hawk Cycle Co. and found the owner very helpful. I arrived the next day and he did the repair quickly while I waited.
The best part, my bill. I don’t want to tell you what I paid for the repair but I tried three times to pay him more and he would not hear of it.
The shop is nice. The rental bikes look to be in great shape and the rates are incredibly reasonable, but if you need a repair I would travel past other bike shops to get to this one.

After we caused a small scene in his shop with a child-​related meltdown, we left, only to go back and take the owner up on his offer of two full days for only $ 15 (the usual rate for just one day). This was absolutely the best part of our vacation, and I confess I was sad when we went to return the bikes, only to have him say we could have another full day, ON HIM!
The cruisers are perfect for those not used to cycling, great for carrying little ones, and this area has beautiful scenery and excellent bike paths through some great areas. We covered many miles, and our six year old never complained; because the roads are so smooth and flat it’s an easy ride.
I can’t recommend this shop enough, and we will be renting for the whole week next time.

I’d like to thank the nice gentleman who owns Kitty Hawk Cycle Co for accommodating my beach cruiser needs on my recent trip to OBX. Upon visiting his shop, the owner supplied me with a sweet Fuji cruiser for $ 15 (part of his mid-​week special, Tuesday through Thursday). Michael was so friendly and helpful. My girl and I were lucky enough to be able to reserve a road bike only a couple weeks away from our vacation. For $ 80, we got a week with a Fuji Newest 1.0, a decent mid-​level road bike with Shimano Tiagra and 105 components. We had some issues with flats and they replaced the tube, wheel, and rim-​tape for free and oh so very fast. Like everyone else in the OBX, they offer cheaper cruisers for rent if you don’t need much. If you want to rent a nice road bike, make sure you book ahead of time (common sense, really). For rental or repair service in the Outer Banks, this is the place to go.
