I’ve been to Lake of the Woods several times but never checked out the cabins so we decided to go there for my wife’s bithday. What a big mistake! The cabin we were given was small. Really small — think in terms of a camper or small trailer. Upon entering there was a small table and two very uncomfortable wooden chairs jammed up against the door. Further on was a very small kitchen unit with a sink. Across from this was a bed and further down a bunk bed. To the right was a bathroom with a small shower and a toilet. No sink. The beds were hard. They reminded me when I would go backpacking and had nothing but a thin pad between me and the ground. The heater sounded like we were sitting next to a major airport. If this «rustic» cabin had been priced at an amount that reflected its short commings then that would have been more reasonable than paying the $ 117. I shelled out. I would have been much happier in my 18 ft. Fith wheel !
I would not recommend these cabins. They have facilities for RVs or tents, either of which would provide more comfort. it’s a great place to spend the day just be careful where you spend the night.

I think the full service area has been put together in a haphazard fashion. Without concern for the environment. All of the RVs have been placed to close making the area too crowded. We were told our site was a back in sight. to back in would have meant running our hose, electrical, and sewer under our trailer and through our Front yard. We had to pull in Front Ways stopping our truck 10 feet from our neighbors dinner table. then we had to use a a creative Way to get our truck out. This place is too crowded. Sad for such a beautiful location.

Well there is a special place in my heart for lake of the woods in fact I chose to get married there, and I love the the lake, it is such a special place that Oregon has gifted its people. I feel like the lodge could earn that fifth star with a solid coffee service (quality espresso) and better food at the marina.

Beautiful place to visit, stay for the weekend, camp or snuggle up in a cabin! The owner was on site and engaged in his business ensuring we were happy and enjoying ourselves! Thank you such a nice getaway! We stayed in a really nice cabin and would totally visit again and really wanting to visit in the summer months! Peaceful, tranquil, and relaxing!

We stopped at Lake of the Woods on our way home from Christmas with the parents and decided to have cheeseburgers and fries at the marina deli /​snack bar. It had snowed and the lake and resort area was beautiful! There were a couple of other families there as well. I believe the resort is open just on weekends this time of year. The cheeseburger and fries were very good. The burger comes with bacon, grilled onions and all the usual veggies. We had raw onions instead of the grilled ones and left off the bacon. The fries were home fries, fresh cut and tasty. The price was a little higher than you might pay somewhere else (I think the burger basket was around $ 11) but it was good and a nice stop along our travels. I don’t ever mind supporting small businesses like this one. We spent a lot of time here in the summer and really enjoy the resort. I would definitely stop again and might try their pizza next time.

Beautiful lake retreat with beautiful woods, and lots to do around. I was sadly unable to really take advantage of the sites and beauty, as I was there working, but I will be bringing my family back in the summer of 2015.
The one bed cabin is extremely teeny tiny… like, you can touch all four walls from the bed, and push the bathroom door open from the bed, too. But hey, your not there to stay inside the cabin.
I think the gift shop needs to add more items. The lodge is nice, but the Sunday ‘brunch’ is a joke. We chose to eat outdoors and just inhale the beauty… but watch out for those bees!

Lake of the Woods is a great place to go in the summer or even in the early fall. Lots of great hiking/​biking trails. Camping or staying in one of the cabins is a must. The lake can get a bit crowded in the summer, but there are spots that are a bit more secluded. The breakfast/​brunch is amazing! They even have a Lake of the Woods IPA, which is pretty good. Highly recommend this gem!

We had a fun time at Lake of the Woods. The staff was nice and helpful. The atmosphere is nostalgic. This place is good for a single family and great for a large group. There was a wedding and family reunion during our short 4 day stay.
There are a few items that I discovered when we got there that wasn’t mentioned on thier website or in any reviews I read.
1. They offer «day use» which is very popular with locals, especially from Klamath Falls. We met some nice people so I thought that was neat but if you are looking for peace and quiet don’t plan on going Fri-​Sun. The Saturday night band was PACKED. I was suprised at the turn out. There is also a huge bonfire after.
2. The wind on the Lake comes up every afternoon. More than a refreshing breeze. There were white caps on the Lake by 1pm everyday we were there. I asked a few groups of regulars and they said some days are worse than others but it is typically windy in the afternoon.
3. Many people bring their dogs. The facility does not seem to police the rules for dog owners. I didn’t like dogs swimming in the swimming area with the kids. I really didn’t like needing to clean my shoes twice.
4. The campgrounds adjacent to the resort itself are really nice. They are managed by the resort but only casually mentioned on their website. They seemed spacious and secluded but an easy 10 minute walk to the main part of the resort. No hook ups if you’re an RV but many were there anyway.
Worth checking out if you are near by or passing through the area.

Old growth trees make the resort a beautiful place to camp. Wide spaces with downed large trees divide some sites. Our site (R23) wasn’t very level but made it work with a little «lumber» we carry with us. Auto levelers don’t like dips in the ground. Cabins to rent, general store, marina with café/​bar at the lake. Several hiking trails. In summer months, Friday movie night at General Store, Saturday night BBQ at lodge with live band, Sunday night entertainment also. Love the red Adirondack chairs everywhere. Too many trees for roof dish or tv antenna. Good cell and wifi. They need to update web site. Very Friendly staff.

This place is beautiful! I made reservations on the way down to spend a week at Lake Tahoe from northern Oregon over the phone and was able to snag an RV site for the following week on a saturday no doubt! We ran into all kinds of horrible problems camping at Tahoe so weren’t sure we’d be able to keep our reservation at Lake Of The Woods. Lisa was amazing and held our spot for us and even held the day after in case we made it to stay 2 days. At one point I had to even cancel due to horrendous truck issues while on our trip. Fortunately only a few minutes later our truck was repaired sooner than we thought so I immediately called back and they gave us our RV spot back!
This place is so worth going to see if you love vintage rustic charm! For the fisherman out there this is your place! The food in the lodge restaurant was wonderful for dinner as well as sunday brunch! The store is as charming as I saw in a decorating book I had purchased and the staff so so friendly! The marina cute as well! I lingered around prior to leaving in hopes of anyone checking out in the 2 vintage cabins on the lake to get a peek inside even one of them but that didn’t happen!
My only complaint would have to be the RV park otherwise I’d give it 5 stars! It leaves a lot to be desired. We had a very hard time locating out space # and although it was last minute when we reserved it had to be one of the worst spots I have ever camped in. It was very large which would be wonderful for a large bus though. Problem was we were sandwiched in-​between at least 4 – 5 other campers so had absolutely NO privacy and had to keep our blinds down the entire time, plus we never used our fire pit once due to no privacy too. I had Lake Of The Woods on my «bucket list» and had waited years to go there and made a long drive from Lake Tahoe to go there on the way home. Like I said, while the rest of the place absolutely «rocked» the RV parking sites are crowded with no privacy from what we could tell although there may be some that do have privacy. We only spent one night so don’t know for sure!
This place is special and unique and we loved it !!!

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights over Memorial Day weekend, in one of the ‘couples cabins’.
The cabins are quite nice, and the décor is very homey /​rustic. The electric fireplace kept us warm and toasty despite the cold (though, frankly, the place was freezing when we arrived late-​at-​night, having negotiated a late-​arrival ahead of time). I wouldn’t recommend splurging on a cabin with a jetted tub– our hot water heater wasn’t big enough to fill the tub, though we gave it a fair try both nights. That was a bit of a disappointment.
The staff was very friendly, pleasant, and well-​meaning. However, probably because of the holiday weekend, the restaurant was packed for dinner and we had a couple of different mix-​ups with our dining experience (the wrong food was brought out, requested water never came). Still, we tipped our friendly waiter. The food isn’t bad, though as you might imagine, the portions are generous and the fare itself is pretty hearty/​heavy.
We were startled to see some very specific check-​out instructions posted on the wall of our cabin. Given the strict-​sounding deposit policies of the resort, I felt obliged to follow these rules (we ended up checking out before the store opened, otherwise we would have asked), but it seemed bizarre considering the amount we spent on the cabin. The instructions were to wash our dishes, put all dirty linens in a laundry bag, take all garbage out to the porch, lower the thermostat, and leave the key in the cabin (for early check out). We weren’t thrilled about having to do housekeeping on our weekend getaway, and wish we’d noticed these instructions the night before so that we could have asked.
At any rate, no serious offenses. The people here are helpful, and the lake is beautiful (and not too far from Crater Lake, if you don’t mind a scenic rural drive).

Awesome. Beautiful lake, friendly people, kayaks were reasonably priced. Food is expensive so bring your own. The bike trail is the best in Oregon! Goes to the the next lake and is a great woodsy meditative experience with consistent up and down hills which challenge you but don’t wear you out. Not too crowded even in summer. Wonderful place all around!!!

Great beaches, especially for swimming with dogs. Good rock surface under water, and very gradually increasing depth.
The people are terrific to deal with — the gate attendant was courteous and helpful. The staff in the store were friendly and helpful.
All in all, a wonderful place to go on a warm day!

Lake of the Woods Resort rocks! Grew up camping here, now rent a cabin once in a while. So nice to relax and enjoy the lake. The management has done a great job of giving the place a great nostalgic feel. There’s not a lot to do here except fish, boat, lay around by the lake, play games, read a book, make s’mores… which makes it just about perfect.

Incredible. This place is picture perfect. Great staff, clean campgrounds, and a beautiful lake.

Didn’t stay here, but went to check out the remodel of the lodge, have breakfast and do a little grocery shopping. Love the new deck!
Hubby and I split the chicken fried steak and the «hill billy» benedict, which is biscuits, sliced sausage links and eggs topped with country-​style sausage gravy. Both served with hashbrowns or strawberries. I’m a sucker for a good chicken fried steak and this one was great! Light flaky breading, even under the fantastic gravy. Hashbrowns were average. Spicy bloody Mary was decent, too. Brittney was a super sweet server – chatting yet letting us eat, too.
The general store is a favorite stop during our visits to the lake. Fun toys and candies, as well as staples like beer, chips, milk, eggs, canned goods, etc. Awesome, helpful staff!
