Specialties
We are a farm that provides the highest quality, locally grown hops for craft brewers and home brewers in Indiana and across the country.
History
Established in 2012.
After talking to some of the local breweries we decided testing the idea of hops growing in Indiana. Doing a lot of research, I couldn’t find a reason why it wouldn’t work. Taking some extra garden space, we started with 4 varieties of 10 plants each in the spring of 2012. That fall we sold our first harvest of Columbus hops to Sun King Brewing Company. The made a wet hopped version of their Osiris Pale Ale. The next year we doubled our original plants and added Cascade and Chinook. We also added to our customer list by selling hops to Flat12 Bierwerks and Indiana City Brewing Company. They produced some great beers with our hops, including a beer made from 40 pounds of Nugget hops into 2bbl of beer and Red Collar Imperial Amber Ale. Sun King also used Chinook and Cascades to create Wet Hopped and Sticky, which was taken to the Sierra Nevada Wet Hop Beer Festival. In the spring of 2014 we planted another 200 plants and added Centennial hops to our lineup as well.

Business Owner
I grew up right here in the same town that we now have our farm. I moved down to Murfreesboro, Tn in 2005 to study recording Industry management. I moved back to Knightstown in 2010 and started working at WISH-TV in Indianapolis. Working on the program Indy Style I was able to talk to the craft brewers and other folks in the local beer scene and bounce the idea of using Indiana grown hops in their beer. Everyone that I talked to was very excited about the prospect and encouraged me to move forward with the project.
