History

Established in 1909.

The dry curing process Broadbent’s uses to produce their Country Ham, Bacon and Sausage has been handed down for many generations. In the beginning it was used as a necessity to preserve their meat for a long period of time. With the modern age of electricity and refrigeration, this was no longer a necessity, but we kept on with the process and to date still cure and age the old fashioned way. The company begin selling their meats from their farm over 100 years ago. The company was purchased from the third generation of the Broadbent family in 1999 by Ronny and Beth Drennan. The tradition has been carried on and is still a family owned business.

Ronny grew up on a dairy farm in Fredonia, Kentucky. His family raised a few hogs and cured hams and bacon each year. He along with his wife Beth purchased Broadbent B & B Foods in 1999.
