I’ve used Bieber for NYC trips for 30 years from Wescosville. Recently, because Norristown is closer, I’ve been TRYING to use Norristown. I’m disappointed. Sometimes it’s too full and they won’t send another bus in either direction, which is a terrible inconvenience. Also, the bus is frequently late to NYC. Today (1÷18÷16) after waiting 50 minutes with no communication, I called Bieber dispatch. The dispatch operator had no idea where the bus was but said that he would try to find out and get back to me. He did not get back to me but the bus arrived one hour and three minutes late. This is unacceptable and I’ll consider getting to NYC another way.

This company needs to join the 21^st century. Or maybe think about providing something that resembles customer service.
Printed our tickets back-​to-​back by accident, with our return tickets printed on the back of our outbound tickets. We figured it wouldn’t be a big deal since every company under the sun scans your ticket nowadays. Not Bieber. All of our tickets were confiscated when we check in for our outbound trip. The agent was utterly humorous and unsympathetic when we told her what a pain it would be to find a place in NYC to reprint return tickets. Apparently this happens a lot, but they don’t give a crap.
Due to an email mix up we had trouble finding our reservation online. No problem, we think, we can get assistance at the Bieber counter at Port Authority. Except — hahahaha — nobody will acknowledge working for Bieber. OK, fine, we’ll call their customer service line. .. except — HAHAHAHAHA — customer service is closed on Saturdays and Sundays (which is convenient for a tour company that does most of its business on weekends).
We eventually hacked a way back to our tickets, but it took us a lot of time and made the entire trip much more stressful than it needed to be. And after all that, the guy in New York barely looked at our tickets; we could have handed him 4 blank sheets of paper and he wouldn’t have cared. So you should probably be prepared for hobos to hop on the bus and steal your seat.
If you think you can have a problem-​free trip: go for it and may the gods be with you. But if you’re even slightly uneasy about being stranded in a strange city with absolutely zero customer service, avoid Bieber.

My daughter uses this bus line to get back and forth to college. The employees I have dealt with are the friendliest and most helpful people I have ever had the pleasure to do business with. I highly recommend Beiber Tourways!!! Thank you for great service!!!

I have been taking Bieber from New York to Kutztown for at least four decades. Usually it’s a fine, reliable way to get to the city without driving. the busses are almost always on time, the drivers professional, and the whole experience what you would expect.
Yesterday was an exception. It was a Saturday, when fewer busses run, and there was a VERY long line at Port Authority waiting to get on the bus to Kutztown. I had been standing there for at least 45 minutes. About 20 minutes before the bus left, two women stood NEXT to the line shortly behind me. I pointed out to them that the end of the line was at least 20 passengers behind them, and they said «we know», but didn’t move. When the line started moving, they bullied their way into the middle of the line. I heard other passengers say «the end of the line is back there» but they did not budge. As we boarded the bus, I reported them to TWO different Bieber employees, who said they would take care of it and then did nothing. Other passengers thanked me for doing this.
We all boarded the bus, and these women sat behind me. One of them slapped my shoulder and said «Are you tight?» That lead to an uncomfortable 2 ½ hours on the bus for me. I moved several seats behind these women, and one intentionally stepped on my foot as I did so. When I got off, she did it again. I unfortunately left something on the overhead rack and had to go back, and she tried to trip me. I reported the whole thing to Bieber management when I got off the bus in Kutztown, but I’m not very hopeful that anyone will do anything.
I guess I’m lucky that I only got slapped, stepped on and tripped. It could have been worse. What’s the point of having a line if you don’t enforce it? Why not just have a free-​for-​all when the bus comes?
I am very disappointed that the Bieber employees did nothing about this.
I give Bieber three stars for the hundreds of times I have taken the bus without incident. but I am adding this review hoping that someone in management will see it and train the employees to do something about line jumpers.

I’ve taken this bus off and on between nyc for the last ten years. It’s just as bad as any other bus line however they rape you in prices and constantly break down. The only reason they are running is because they are the only bus option for many parts of Pennsylvania. I’ve been on at least seven bus that needed to be towed. Yes, you might get stranded in Dirty Jersey. They are also rarely on time from nyc, almost always on time leaving from Pennsylvania (oh wow you get a sticker Carl R. Bieber!!!)
Seriously over priced and crappy buses.
The drivers are the only saving grace. If you’re pissed about something that’s not directly related to them, call in and complain– don’t hassle the drivers.

I travel all over the country for a living and Bieber is literally, the WORST option for bus travel possible. Unfortunately, it’s the only option coming from Reading or Hellertown, which is why they don’t seem care about customer service. Their process is archaic. Unlike Bolt or Megabus, you cannot simply show your digital receipt on your cell phone because the bus drivers are border line idiotic. They refused me the last bus to NY and would not refund my money. The moment a competitor enters this territory, these buses and ignorant drivers will be gone.

If fortune smiles upon you as it did me (i.e. gives you any reason to travel to Reading from NYC), this is definitely the easiest way to do that without a car. It’s not exactly cheap — $ 30 each way — and NOTE THIS: they’re kind of old school in that you need to have an ACTUAL ticket, purchased from one of their booths, in cash (at least in Reading). This Bieber does not owe its popularity to the world wide web, and if you bring a printed e-​ticket (or ha, try to show a confirmation number on a smartphone) you will probably not be able to get on the bus.
That said I’ve found the drivers I’ve dealt with to be exceptionally friendly and their buses have always left right on time.

Great service and extremely friendly customer service willing to help out customers when needed! They were extremely flexible given some of my extenuating circumstances — the type of customer service that one misses when living in bigger cities!
Definitely recommend Bieber Tours if it runs on the route you are seeking!

Unfortunately, this seems to be the only bus in town (unless you want to park in the Allentown bus terminal, which I do not) to get to NYC from the Allentown area. Overall, they’re fairly reliable, but as many reviewers commented, it is true — their buses are very old and seem to break down often.
For a commuter bus, I do not expect movies, but considering that fare prices are higher than that of Transbridge or Martz, I would at least expect WiFi (which the other two bus companies offer). I have asked about this before and was told over a year ago that it would be coming in the near future. I guess their interpretation of «near future» is different from mine. I asked them again recently via their website and this time, got no response.
Riding these buses feels like being at your grandparents’ house where rotary telephones are still in use, computers are non-​existent and cable TV is considered an extravagance.
And the Wescosville station is riddled with potholes. And if it rains, the waiting room at this station leaks badly in several spots.
The drivers for the most part, however, are all friendly and are knowledgeable, except for when the buses break down, but again, that’s due to the aging fleet.
Expect to pay top dollar for all this.

If you’re a a college student in the Lehigh Valley area and you want to go New York without a car, this is probably the best bus service available.
So what makes this superior to a bus service like Trans-​Bridge? A few things:
1) Fewer stops. This is a biggie, since Bieber buses go non-​stop to New York after the Hellertown stop. On Trans-​Bridge buses, on the other hand, you travel to 3 – 7 additional stops after the South Bethlehem stop. The stops wouldn’t be so annoying if they were actually, say, on the highway, but they require huge detours that take additional time. In any case, count on an additional 45 minutes to 1.5 hours from South Bethlehem to NYC by Trans-​Bridge compared with Hellertown to NYC by Bieber.
2) Out-​of-​the-​way locations. Weird that I mention this as an advantage, but I mean it as comfort advantage when you’re sitting on the bus. While you’ll find yourself sitting on a crowded NYC-​bound Trans-​Bridge bus even at 8PM at night, you won’t really encounter the same problem with Bieber buses during off-​peak hours.
Overall, I regret that I didn’t find out about Bieber buses sooner when I was living in South Bethlehem. I would have gladly paid the $ 2 to go to Hellertown via LANTA bus (an advantage via public transit access, although you do have to coordinate LANTA’s crappy schedule with Bieber’s schedule) so that I wouldn’t have to deal with hordes of college students going home on vacation at the same time or crowded buses in general.
And there’s a story that explains my aversion to crowded buses. Years ago, there was only one Tuesday-​before-​Thanksgiving around 5:30PM. There were so many students trying to go home on that scheduled bus that it became completely full. By that, I mean that it was beyond standing room only, and you couldn’t even go onto the bus if you wanted to. And to make matters worse, the bus operator said there wouldn’t be a second bus to pick up the passenger overflow (she basically said «tough luck, muchacho», albeit less condescendingly), and it was also raining heavily at the time. Of course, two pluses came from that fateful day, after I decided to say «screw it» and to take the bus the next morning instead:
(a) I was able to see a fantastic Chick Corea concert, probably the best jazz concert that I’ve ever been to (well, maybe except for that Marcus Roberts solo piano concert)
(b) Trans-​Bridge wised up later on and started scheduling Thanksgiving and semester-​break buses exclusively for college students. Of course, after I discovered the Bieber buses, it was too little and too late after years of putting up with Trans-Bridge’s crappy service and excessive amount of out-​of-​the-​way stops along the route.
And if you don’t feel like paying the $ 2 or dealing with the crappy LANTA bus schedules, you can always ask a friend with a car to drop you off at the stop.

The best eastern PA-​to-​NYC bus service. «Leave it to Bieber,» my crazy uncle always says. I’ve been using them for over 10 years now.
Reading to Kutztown to Wescoesville to Hellertown to Port Authority, NYC and back.
It’s a bit pricey (as much as a tank of gas). Also, there’s no WiFi and no movies. Sometimes you sit near a screaming child. Other times you sit near a grown-​ass child blaring his headphones. But for the most part, it’s a pleasant experience.
The buses are super clean, and pretty comfy. Bathrooms aren’t terrible. The drivers are just like all senior citizens, but they don’t drive like it. They’re great, super friendly, but strict on grown-​ass children blaring their headphones, much like your grandpa.

Bieber is great, and they are my typical (and only available bus line?) commute back to PA (kutztown) from NYC. It’s $ 52 round trip, which isn’t all that bad. There’s no wifi. I often find that the buses are crowded, and spaces between the seats is minimal so the people who recline their seats thrill me.
Also, The bus drivers are always friendly and helpful. What I like most is that this bus line is ALWAYS on time. If you’re late, it’s gone! Very reliable.

For the NYC — Lehigh Valley route, Beiber usually gets the job done. The buses are fairly clean, and drivers are friendly. They have a no cell phone policy except for emergencies onboard (which I love). On one of my trips a bus driver pull over to tell a passenger to get off her phone since she was clearly violating the policy. I was very happy to see the policy enforced, and I hope I get that bus driver again. Don’t try to be ignorant on a Bieber bus, because you will get caught!
Purchasing tickets can be a hassle depending on where you are. The Port Authority ticket counter can have long lines during rush hour. At Hellertown, tickets are sold at the nearby Exxon station which is pretty convenient. I really just wish that they would sell tickets online. Speaking of online, the Bieber website could use some updating.
Overall, my experiences with Beiber have always been positive.

I took the Bieber bus from NYC to Kutztown (round trip) and it wasn’t a bad experience. When my cell phone died in Kutztown and I found myself truly stranded, the local ticket agent offered to take me to my destination on his way home (the cell phone worked for a five second miracle and I was able to call for my ride after all). Small town hospitality is the best.
Buses are clean and the drivers I had were personable and they provided a good trip. I will use the bus line again – just wish I didn’t have to go through the NY Port Authority.
My biggest beef is with the web site (mediocre) and buying tickets. Thanks to Darryl – who wrote a Bieber review – I figured out where to buy my tickets. The website – and the call to the agency – wasn’t at all helpful.

Carl R is my standard PA (folks) — NYC (home) conveyance. The Kutztown-​PABT run is pretty painless and reasonably priced (47.50 RT), the runs are frequent, and as long as you get on early enough, you can usually get a decent seat.
Most of the drivers are decent. I get horribly motion sick so I usually sit in the front, and end up chatting up various drivers. Lots of long-​term motorcoach drivers, some recently brought on by the Capitol Trailways acquisition.
I do not envy the people who get on in Hellertown, as the buses are usually full by then. There are also various techniques to timing which buses are the best to take (based on NYC traffic, football games, day of the week, etc) but you’ll need to figure those out on your own.
What’s truly crazy about Bieber is that there are daily commuters from Reading and Kutztown to NYC. WTF?!

Just went to NY 2 weeks ago. Like Candi K. I live very close by the pick up point located at Hellertown.
Thanks to this bus, I am able to travel to NY without driving! I can go on a daytrip and back with ease.
Tickets are sold at the Exxon Gas Station at South 412. There is a sign at the Gas station that says «BIEBER TICKET AGENT».
For a first timer like me, I would say it was very easy to get on the bus and off — just know the bus schedule. Arrive atleast 10 minutes earlier than the bus.
The bus is clean. Seats are comfortable. Windows are wide and big, great for road watching.
Note: The Park n’ Ride is located behind Wendys at Hellertown Main St. (south 412).

Oh, the infamous Bieber Bus! I live about five minutes from the pickup point in Hellertown, and we’ve seen many of them criss crossing the intersection of 412 and 78. We don’t take the bus very often into NYC (normally drive into Jersey to park and take the PATH in), but when we do, it’s Bieber.
If you are embarking in Hellertown, you just need to run down to the Exxon to buy your tickets. Just come early, as parking at this stop is always crazy. There are a bunch of bulldozers going crazy across the street, so I’m hoping it’ll be expanded parking. I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes past the expected time for a bus. The buses are always clean and the drivers friendly. Not much more you can expect.
I had a chance to go on a charter trip for work with Bieber, and it was a great experience as well. The driver was super friendly and got us into the city within 90 minutes. He dropped us off at Bryant Park and was back to pick us up at the appointed time right where he said he would be. The drive back was sub 90 minutes as well.
I’m with Michael though, their website horribly needs a boost. I’ve been on there enough that I can navigate easily, but it’s still a pain.

Bieber has clean buses and is definitely a step above Greyhound. However, I’m giving them such a low rating because of their atrocious scheduling information and website navigation. Their website is poorly organized and all the information is arranged in PDFs that are horrible resolution and look like they were scanned from paper versions. It’s very confusing and hard to figure out. The information about where the stops are are ambiguous and general without specific information like street addresses. This would be my #1 bus service if you could just figure out what was going on.

I recently found out that they now offer a terrific limousine service with stretches, sedans, vans, and a limo bus… definitely worth taking a look at!
