This has bothered me for a while… I usually love HEB and put it above, over all, any grocery store in the nation… BUT! Why are packaged produce less per pound than bulk?! How the hell does a Styrofoam plate and shrink wrap make it worth LESS?! Am I living in the 50’s where processed and packaged everything was the norm? They literally put three fresh jalapeños on a Styrofoam plate and shrink wrap it, then charge 10c LESS a pound! They’re promoting packaging… WTF?! Did the bag ban in Austin leave them with extra plastic they need to use up?

Are you kidding me!!! This is an awesome store! Very cheap but very quality at the same time! Named for a guy with the last name BUTTS, insert childish humor here. They really have pride in what they do and merch the best way they can in their largest PLUS format. In their PLUS stores you can find a wide variety of on-the-go foods, natural foods, olive bar, you name it. They could seriously give Whole Paycheck I mean Whole Foods a run for their money! They even carried an impressive selection of this great zero calorie product that has saved my skinny neck a variety of times! I will ask to come back each and every time I visit the cousin!

This place is like a theme park for fatties and suburbanites. Huge selection of niche items. Also, you can buy flip flops and DVDs, whhaaaattt? I live in Chicago and really miss HEB. It is the best grocery store I’ve ever shopped at and I’ve lived in the South and Midwest as well as Texas.

I use to come out my way to come to this HEB but I’ll avoid it from now on. They were handing out crawfish samples but when my daughter and I went to get her a sample, they told us I had to buy it. I watched as the lady and man gave out more free samples to other people. When I asked can my daughter get one so she can sample. The lady refused. I bought a pound because I felt embarrassed. Like I was a second hand citizen. I dress up all week and was bumming on Saturday so if I was judged bc of my appearance. That shouldn’t have happened. I had to explain to my 8 years old daughter about discrimination and how she just got to experience it. What an awful experience for my child! She is still asking me why did the teenage girl get to sample twice and didn’t buy anything. It is bothering me more and more now that I’m home. I’ll go back to shopping at Walmart.

Love the Kyle HEB Plus. Always a great selection of fresh produce and other goodies. The Flaming Bird Chicken is the best. Great staff working in the store that keeps everything neat and clean. Also like how HEB gives back to the community through different programs.

I wish there were more food stores in Kyle. I like HEB but would love more options.

I LOVEMYHEB! This is a fantastic store with a huge variety! They consistently have almost every register open, their staff and management is friendly, and they rarely run out of items. I shop here 3 to 5 times a week!

This HEB is pretty good! They are really starting to offer more organic and antibiotic free meats, which is awesome! Their wine selection isn’t the best but its much better than the Buda HEB! I have only had to wait in a long line here once, they usually have ample registers open.

I don’t really know how to express my thought about this HEB Plus. Reason why is because I used to live by another HEB Plus and it was all-in-one. It had a furniture area, electronic etc… This HEB Plus doesn’t and that and they have rearranged their area which makes it so confusing. If u need to run in real fast to get something that goes fast like milk, cheese, eggs, yogurt, juice etc… It’s in the far back out the way. But the worker are cool and very helpful.

I think all HEB ’ s should be just like this one! You can actually find a gift hear if you need to. The only complaint I would have is the produce could be a little better picked out.

Back in Texas after a few years and was looking forward to having access to an HEB. This particular store is pretty disappointing. First, the design and layout is very poor. The store is always crowded so it is hard to move around the very narrow aisles and walkways. Worse, I often have to work around employees who are completely taking up the aisle to restock during prime hours or just standing around talking with other employees. The produce is very poor quality. I often have a hard time finding a bag of Spinach, salad or even basil that does not have rotted leaves. Same with the avocados and bell peppers. For as big as the store is, there is a surprising lack of frozen food options. There are rarely enough cash registers open to accommodate the volume of customers in the store. There are plenty of express lanes open but rarely more than 3 – 4 standard lanes. Once you do get through, be prepared to bag your own groceries. I have had to do this on multiple occassions. The checker tries to help, but there are so few on duty it only backs up the line even further. HEB needs to conduct an overhaul of this store to make it more consumer friendly.

Great HEB, workers are very attendant to their guests. My first choice when shopping for groceries and sometimes to just kill time.

Nice grocer, but the produce suffers greatly. I would give more stars if rotten produce and gnats did not live here. I am surprised no one else has mentioned this… With being such a nice store I would expect more.

Lots of options to choose from. I have become so spoiled. When my parents come in from Wisconsin they always feel the need to go shopping at this HEB to ding new food or spices that they can take home.

As with other large HEB, everything is here. It’s busy all the time because it’s the only one around. Perhaps checking out through the self check out line makes things easier but it’s still always packed ! Clothing, electronics, household Items, groceries, etc . I advise you to shop around 8−11a on the weekdays or in the afternoon on Wednesdays . Not especially clean nor any especially helpful staff

The only thing that keeps me from giving a 5 star review is the fact that I have to bag my own groceries almost every time I visit. That being said, I LOVE the following: 1. Fresh Guacamole made in the store. 2. Super friendly folks in the seafood dept. who can always make a recommendation. 3. Yummy fresh bakery items. 4. The cooking connection for great new recipes. 5. Their community outreach program is always willing to help non-profit organizations. 6. Flaming Bird is the best!

So maybe I have gotten old or maybe I just hate huge grocery stores now. The only grocery store I can stand to be in that is this big is the Whole Foods Market in downtown Austin. So with that said this grocery store does have all the bells and whistles with a Healthy living, Jewelry Boutique, entertainment center, deli, meat market, home goods area, sushi and all that good stuff. They are ALWAYS busy and you can’t just get«in and out» of here. I haven’t had issues with the customer service, then again I haven’t ever needed anyone beyond the deli dept.. so I will say they are good on that part :) . They don’t have a big organic area. or organic meat option. I say that because I have worked in a plus store before and we had a better selection of organic things. I know though that HEB caters to the surrounding areas and so not all grocery stores are built the same. If someone else has observed to the contrary. please correct me! When I lived in San Marcos many years ago I used to drive to this location for their healthy living dept because Healthy Living wasn’t everywhere yet and this was the best grocery store within 50 miles of my house. … So go there if you lots of time because this store so big.

Two months later, and there’s been no change in product availability for the items I requested they stock that are at all the other Austin area HEB stores I shop. I didn’t expect much more than lip service from the management, and sure enough, that’s exactly what I got. One bright spot? The helpful employee in the water aisle who insisted on pointing out that the carton of water I grabbed probably wasn’t what I wanted. He persisted. He was right. He had read my mind. Scary. But, otherwise, HEB Minus. Cue Kevin O’Leary.
