Flintridge Tailoring

Emma did some tailoring work on my backpack that was falling apart. I didn’t let her know that I was in a rush and yet she made my backpack look brand new in 2 minutes, literally!

Two weeks to sew patches onto my kids backpack after an original estimate of two days. They must have used the thinnest thread in the history of thread, because every one of the patches is already coming off.

I dropped off a vest for a simple zipper replacement. At pick up, I was met by a distraught seamstress who could not get over how immensely difficult my job had been. She charged me more than our initial agreement based on the extra difficulty. Poor thing, she even had to wear a trash bag around her waist to avoid getting any of the filling of my jacket on her… I sucked it and paid. Took my now-​slender vest home (it had lost lots of it’s down). First time I wear it, the zipper catches at chest height and one of my pockets is sewn half-​way shut. It doesn’t look so good either.

I will never use them again. The lady added an amount on my bill after my initial drop off visit, without my knowledge. So when I took the carbon copy receipt to go pick up my alterations she calmly charges me more. When I asked her why the extra she says we forgot to charge you for this tiny sewing. I said but my bill does not show the charge and she says you have to pay anyway. I tried to tell her why it was unethical to add an amount after I had left the store… And she retorts but you got a discount. I said you could’ve added any amount on that bill … How is that ethical and she starts yelling about how I don’t want to pay! I tried to tell her again it was not about me paying but them randomly adding. Could’ve been speaking a different language!!!

Flintridge Tailoring has always done a great job.
I bring them numerous Boy Scout uniforms and patches to alter or attach and they do a great job. I also bring them slacks to hem up. They have the box that you can stand on so they can alter them for the perfect length. Don’t worry about doing that yourself.
The ladies that work her are always friendly and cheerful. They have a Dry Cleaning business up the street by Cakery Bakery as well, so you can also drop things off there if Flintridge Tailoring is not open yet.
Parking is in back and the entrance is just east of Le Petite Vendome.

Flintridge Tailors is part of Flintridge Cleaners. They did a good job hemming two pairs of my pants. I asked them if they could alter 6 café curtain panels for me. They agreed to add tabs to the tops of the curtains through which a rod can pass, and hem them. The curtains I got back are all of different lengths. Worse, the tabs are spaced incredibly unevenly — ranging from 9 to 8 to 7 inches apart. The tabs themselves are of different lengths, some are sewn on askew, and one isn’t completely sewn on. I called and asked them for a refund. They refused to refund my money. I wish I could post a photo of how sloppy the work was — truly worth a thousand words. I will never use them again.
