Lee Shin Tae Kwon Do

Master Lee shin is a super nice and welcoming instructor. His two kids also teach a me are super energetic and treat my kids super nice and they tell me how much fun they have. Not too expensive and overall good experience for anyone wanting to learn martial arts. He does good introductory class’s to get a feel of how you like it

This the best Tae Kwon Do school in the area.
I tried others and this is where my son has been improving the most.

I was initially, going to write a very positive review of Lee Shin TKD because Master Lee, the primary instructor, is great. He’s strong and supportive and gets the best from his students at all levels.
However, the organization as a whole is completely bereft of guidance. Their website has been down for months and they have repeatedly promised to get it working, haven’t. (how hard is it? I have one and it cost me 20/​month) as a result I have no idea when the classes are when I need that information… or calendars… or emails.
Secondly is the cost. It’s expensive and extremely difficult to pin down actual costs. I don’t have any experience with this but having asked other parents what they are paying I’ve discovered that Lee Shin is expensive. Not only are the costs high to train but the extra’s are expensive as well. Uniforms $ 50. Want to get a new belt? $ 75 and up. Again, i have no problem with a business making money if the participants are getting a lot out of the experience, and my son is… thanks to the patience of Master Lee.
However, the lack of administrative support and other issues are factors that have really been adding up. There are too many established martial arts studios in San Gabriel to have one poorly run.

This place was terrible, unethical, non communicative. Bait and switch the instructors. I notify them that I will withdraw from class and will take the losses of the month’s fee, they not only ignore my request and continued to take money out of my account! They told me they didn’t know what the office manager promised because she was on commission, but they have to charge an extra month for cancelation. They still have yet to provide me a copy of the contract. I sent them a total of four emails, and have not responded to one yet! VERY DISAPPOINTED to say the least.
How can they teach respect, honor and ethics when they don’t themselves. It was only $ 175. $ 175 over honor, respect and ethics. Sad, really sad.

My son and I have been going to Lee Shin’s for about three years now. We love it. The teachers are fantastic… just the right mix of being strict yet fun. The schedule is very flexible, which is helpful to us, and we are always allowed to make up a class should we miss for any reason. We had checked out other schools and instructors before deciding on this one and this is the best one for sure!
