Gilmore Heating & Air Conditioning

Nothing but a uneasy for me, the owner of a Apartment building. We had Gilmore install a new unit in one of our town house units. We had them to return numerous times to get it to cool right. Their person in charge told us it kept freezing up and shutting off. My 35 year experience in running buildings has shown me that once a unit freezes up it can be trouble down the line. After I was told it had frozen up 4 times I was concerned and wanted the cooling section replaced and they refused to do it. The owner even told me that no one told me it froze up 4 times and I don’t know what I am talking about. He even went as far as to tell me «what do I know I am not a A/​C contractor. I will admit it really made me mad and I lost it with them. My contractor even said he doesn’t understand it. I had a problem with one of the vent covers just fell out the other day and after a week no one had returned a call back to set up an appointment. When I called a week later no repair was even planned. This is just my opinion based on my experience as an owner of multiple buildings. My actual contract was with my contractor who said he felt the same. Good Luck

I have a 2 ½ story house and it gets HOT upstairs and I have an old system. I thought I would have to spend thousands on a new system. Gilmore came out and it took some time and experimentation but I ended up with fully functioning air condtioning for ¹⁄₁₀^th of what a new system would have cost me.
Their commitment to finding and locating the problem with my system was extraordinary. It took several days and there was an initial misdiagnosis. But they did NOT charge me for that. Honest and knowledgeable.

I had a problem with my upstairs A/​C unit. It didn’t seem to be cooling and the thermostat wouldn’t turn it off. I had to use the circuit breakers.
I called Gilmore around 2:00 pm, 2÷25÷16, spoke to Cheryl and explained my problem. She immediately made an appointment for the next day, 2÷26÷16 between 9 – 11 am!
Allan showed up around 10:00 am with some spare parts, based on the information I had given to his office. Thirty-​five minutes later, he had switched out the parts, tested the A/​C unit and pressure and the unit was up and working. Total cost was $ 130: parts $ 45 & labor $ 85.
I consider that professional, efficient and economical service!

Switched to them recently and they’ve been great! They show up on time, communication has been great. I’ve never been left wondering about the status of a service or repair. They don’t recommend unnecessary work, and make sure I understand what may be needed in the future. I like to have a plan, so they’re a perfect fit.

Gilmore Heating and Air provides second-​to-​none service. I have used them for several years for my heater and air conditioner needs and they have always exceeded my expectations. Their prices are the most reasonable I have ever seen. In addition, the quality of their service is of the highest. They always show up on time, friendly, and ready to work. I recommend their business strongly and without hestitation.

I am surprised by a couple of the poor reviews. My experience over the course of twenty years has been five star. Honest, dependable, service at a fair price. As a real estate agent, I refer them to clients who have been pleased with their service as well.

Used them for years and always great. During last visit it was a different technician and he obviously did not finish his job properly. Did not add refrigerant as he was asked to do, I had to get somebody else to do it. Extra $ 200 for no reason.

Five stars all the way. We are so glad we found Gilmore Air and Heating. Called at 0800 on Monday morning and a repairman was there within an hour and a half. Allan, the repairman, was polite, professional, skilled and identified the probem promptly. The charge was reasonable, and our air conditioner is blowing cool air again. We were referred to Gilmore from a friend, and we also checked on Unilocal.This is our «go to» company for air or heating problems. We hgihly recommen Gilmore.

Absolutely 5 stars from start to finish! I was referred by a neighbor that has used Gilmore Air and is always happy. I called them Thursday afternoon and got an appointment for Friday. The person that took made my appointment was very nice. The tech was on time and very nice. Went right to work. Fixed the problem and I have cold air again! Price was very reasonable!

I’ve been a customer for over 20 years. Why? Because I prefer to do business with honest, competent and professional companies. When I have the occasional air conditioning or heating problem, I know that Gilmore will have a friendly and knowledgeable technician show up on time, correctly diagnose the problem and then fix it. And their prices are fair and reasonable. No call backs because it wasn’t fixed right. No bs. Do yourself a favor and give these guys a try.

This was the first summer and fall we made it through without having our unit breakdown. Why? Because the chumps we had been using before (two separate companies that we will make sure none of our friends, relatives, and neighbors NEVER use) had rewired our unit on purpose to blow during a heat wave. It worked like a charm two years in a row. In fact, the last guy put an extra capacitor in just to be sure that it would go out. Thank God for Gilmore Heating & Air Conditioning — he took the extra capacitor out and rewired the unit to run correctly. What a shocker — not a single problem through any of the heat waves.
DON’T TRUST ANYONE ELSE. If they can fit you in within hours, they’re NOT honest and their techs don’t know what they’re doing. That old adage ‘if it’s too good to be true, it is’ is true. So is ‘worth the wait.’
$ 85 for Gilmore. $ 1400 for the first dishonest one who sold us a fan we didn’t even need. $ 500 for the second dishonest guy. Worth the wait? My bank account says yes.

I called Gilmore to repair my hvac unit. They arrived right on time and fixed the unit without replacing parts. They could easily have replaced the part in question, and charged me accordingly, but he bypassed a door switch which notoriously goes bad and is not needed unless someone is a complete moron. His honesty saved us a lot of money! He gave us helpful suggestions and thoroughly inspected and tested the equipment. I am very pleased, they are #1 in my book!

AC was blowing warm air. Called Gilmore. They said they couldn’t come out to inspect the AC unit until next week? Really? Why?
I had the same experience 12 months earlier. They weren’t scheduling anyone for another 7 days. C’mon.
Why don’t you staff up some additional workers when you can’t come perform a repair for 7 days? Is it that hard to staff up more employees even just for the summer? Last I saw the employment numbers were still weak. Why not hire more technicians?

I had Gilmore install my A/​C in 1990, and it was a great experience. To this day any time I have heating or air problems they are right there to fix it. Plus there prices can’t be beat !!
