History

Established in 2006.

Our Company was founded by Mark Handian on a rock-​solid Engineering foundation and a precise aesthetic sensibility.

Mark Handian, with a degree in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona and a multi-​layered background in nearly every aspect of commercial construction and architecture, established his company on three principles– clever and beautiful design, highly refined engineering, and efficient building methods.

Mark has been involved in the Manufactured Residential Housing Industry for about 6 years. He has also worked in the High Rise Commercial /​Industrial /​Hospital Construction Industry for about 4 years.

Mark and his team are wonderful to work with. Very responsive and cost conscious. Quality and attention to detail are always on point! Being a first time business owner building out a café can be very stressful. But Mark kept me informed and handled any questions or concerns with the utmost professionalism and speed. He genuinely cares about his customers and the quality of his work. And the fact that he can design and build your project is a HUGE timesaver! No need to spend the time and money on an architect. He designed and built the first location of The Pie Bar in downtown Long Beach. I could not be more pleased! I highly recommend Handian Construction!

Being a first time business owner can be stressful because of all of the unknowns — design, tenant improvement, contractors, build-​out etc. When we met Mark, right of the bat he was very easy to talk to. He thoroughly listened to all of our questions and concerns and worked with us to come up with the best and most feasible solutions. He was always pushing to meet deadlines, and pulling strings to get approvals. What I can’t stress enough is timing, it’s amazing how fast the process was without effecting the overall quality. Whenever we encountered a bump in the road, Mark would come up with a quick solution that was within our budget. He’s straightforward and reliable which is why we decided to continue working with him on our second location and possibly many more future locations. Thanks Mark for all that you have done for us!

Where to begin!!! There are so many things I could say about Mark Handian– great guy, there’s never a dull moment, very dedicated and hard-​working, etc. but all you really need to know is that if you need a job done, he’s the guy you want on that job! He’ll make sure you’re taken care of. He won’t give up on you or your project. He’s got a great team! I’ve gotten to know Mark while he was working on The Brass Lamp (NOW OPEN!!) and I must say, it has been such a pleasure to work with him. We are very happy to finally be open, but we definitely miss having Mark around.

Handian Construction is a pleasure to work with. They provide a straightforward estimate and are well educated in the permitting process and buildout.
They have built out a couple restaurants in our market. Mark’s team worked meticulously and had everything completed in a timely fashion. They even kept the market spotless around the work site.
I highly recommend Mark Handian to anyone and more importantly to all our new tenants. He gets the job done! The completed project was truly beyond my expectations. It was a wonderful experience.

I came to Mark asking him to help me open up my restaurant. With his great expertise, I got approved within 6 weeks. He is very honest, knowledgeable, and very helpful. I am always skeptical of finding new architects or construction companies because I don’t know where to go or trust. But, know that Mark does not take advantage of your money, and treats every business as his own. He also answers your phone calls as soon as he can. I highly recommend Mark & Handian construction. If you are building a new restaurant, taking over an existing restaurant, or in a tough situation and need help, look no further. This is the right company and the right guy to work with. Also, to add his assistant, Dyno is also a very knowledgable and helpful individual. Trust this review and go with them. I guarantee you will have no regrets. Mark’s team reached out to me after hearing that we were looking for a contractor to build out an eatery in Anaheim. After exploring our options and speaking with Mark, we decided that his team would be the best for the job. His professionalism and consideration for his clients is what sets him apart and what we appreciated most. The icing on the cake is his ability to expedite construction and permitting. It took him less than a month to fully build out our empty spot. He understood that we were under tight time frames and a tight budget and worked with us to meet our strenuous expectations. Handian Construction is a one stop shop to, which makes it incredibly easy for first-​timers. His team is able to provide concept designs, the necessary architectural and mechanical drawings (that are able to pass through the city rather quickly due to their experience and understanding of various guidelines/​regulations), and diligent construction team. We were lucky that they found us!

I am a new small business owner that opened a retail store this past year. My friend highly recommended Mark, to take care of all of my construction needs. Mark worked with me the entire time and made sure that my vision for the store was how I wanted it. This was not easy because I was on a tight budget and on a time crunch to open the store quickly. He went over and beyond the entire time. He made floor plans to show the city from scratch, painted my walls, build an entire dressing room, made sure I was up to ADA standards, redo the bathroom, and had my floors redone. He is also a great carpenter and designed and built the store a beautiful register counter. I highly recommend him to a new business owners that are taking a leap of faith to make their dream a reality. He won’t take advantage of you and cares that your business will be sucessful. We loved him so much, that my husband’s business is using him to remodel their office building.

I had my bathroom remodeled by Handian company I have to tell you it was quick and easy to go through this process. I felt very comfortable from the beginning. It is a hassle to deal with Construction but I definitely recommended them.
