Full-​service butcher dept, homemade prepared meals, Boars Head meat products, fine wines and craft beers, fresh produce, meat and party trays are just a few of our specialities. In today’s competitive grocery market, we know our personal customer service, attention to your needs stand above the competition. Our beef is all Certified Angus Beef brand. Our brats are made by our butchers in the store, as well as our hand-​cut roasts and premium ground beef. Pig roasts and backyard BBQ are a few of the services we offer from late spring to early fall. A favorite of our neighbor customers is the Saturday lunchtime grill going in front of the store every Saturday, May thru Oct, weather providing.

History

Established in 1974.

DeVries Grocery began over 3 generations ago. The founder, Dick DeVries Sr. grew up on his family’s vegetable farm in Oak Lawn, IL. Dick and brother, Everett, opened Beverly Supermarket in 1963. In 1974, the store relocated to the present location in La Grange, IL. During this time the brothers built close ties in the local business community. Dick’s sons, Dick Jr and Wayne later joined the family business and helped grow it into the little gem that has become renowned for an excellent meat dept, freshly-​made prepared foods, quality produce and competitively priced groceries while creating a friendly neighborhood vibe.

Now under the leadership of Dick Jr and Wayne and the best team of employees, DeVries Grocery prides itself on getting to know their customers and their needs while providing a great shopping experience. Dick Jr. and Wayne De Vries grew up in the grocery business under the leadership of their father, Dick Sr, founder of DeVries Grocery. «Papa Dick» taught his boys the value of an excellent work ethic as well as the importance of treating customers like family. Personal service at De Vries Grocery is the hallmark it is because of the family values passed on from generation to generation. Now, as co-​owners, Dick Jr and Wayne provide a depth of experience in the grocery business and in forming wonderful neighbor relations in the La Grange area. Dick Jr was a butcher for many years at the store and oversees the extensive fresh meat dept. Wayne has been the hands-​on manager in the grocery/​produce depts. Dick and Wayne pride themselves in getting to know their customers personally, many by name.
