Plumbing Done Rite

Buyer beware.
Had Done RIght come out to do the annual sewer rodding. They sent 2 guys, which is odd because I’ve always only had one plumber for rodding.
They rodded and claimed to get 95ft, which seemed far enough for me… but were running up against something hard they couldn’t get passed. Which means «they need to camera». They put their camera in, and claimed they couldn’t get the camera passed 60 ft, and therefore they recommended I dig and put in a clean out for $ 2400. And by the way the $ 525 I paid for unsuccessful rodding, and $ 240 for unsuccessful camera work were not included in that price.
None of this made sense to me… their logic nor their pricing… so I sought a second opinion. Another plumber came out, explained that it was his practice to include the cost of rodding/​camera work in a cleanout. I explained what Done Right told me about my sewer he also said that made no sense. He asked if I had watched any of their work, and I embarrassingly admitted I hadn’t.
He rodded to 100ft! Found nothing blocking my sewer, gave me some great advice, and charged me $ 350. While Done RIght charged me $ 525 (because they brought out two guys!).
I will never call Done Right again, unless it’s to get my money back. And I will be very vocal with my neighbors about my interaction with them.

I recently contacted Pat at Plumbing Done Rite to repair or replace the bath/​shower faucet in my mother’s home. On the first visit and assessment I was advised the old faucet needed to be replaced as they could not find part needed to repair. Upon turning off the water, they could not turn it back on and this took most of the day to figure out when I had specifically advised that I was only available for two hours! (We missed an important Family Luncheon and Reunion). Day wasted and charged $ 178.00 to replace a handle on the toilet!
3 days later, they returned to install the replacement faucet, same story. 2 rookies sent over to do a job would ordinarily take about 4 hours to complete, over 8 hours! After much disputing, I was charged $ 879.00 in addition to the $ 178.00 from days earlier!
After writing to Pat and requesting reimbursement for overcharge (not to mention the inconvenience of 2 days lost) I have not received a response or any compensation. I do not recommend them ~ NOT Done Rite!

My mother had been using Done Rite for literally decades. She was neighbors with the original owner and founder since he was a young boy and was friends with his mother as well. He eventually retired and sold out, sometime around 1994. They were very reliable and always did good work at fair prices. A few years after it was sold, she called to have them come out and clear a clogged kitchen sink.
The man came out and spent about 15 minutes clearing the clog. Then he wanted to know something that my mother, now up in years, didn’t know or couldn’t explain. He then became irate and extremely rude with her. He subsequently charged for a full hour ($ 85) and didn’t offer to do anything else for the rest of the hour. Like clean up after himself. He just abruptly left after 15 minutes.
I wrote a letter of complaint to the new owner. I heard nothing back.
I had talked to the original owner on occasion as well as being onsite when they did some major work. Then they used to be professional, competent, polite and easy to work with. Things have changed. Obviously, I will not be using them again.

Done Rite plumbing has proven to be a truly great service company.
After my experience with them I would never even consider using anyone else. For several years I have been having problems with the drains in my house. I had several different plumbers come out clean the drain and things were good for a short time. I had called several plumbers to get the rates they charge and used them thinking if I pay more I may get this problem fixed. Finally I called Done Rite they had such a terrific price I wondered how good there work was. Done Rite showed up on time and I expected another drain cleaning that would not last. After explaining to the plumber and having him clean the drain he said he wanted to check something else. No others that I had come over even mentioned doing this so again I was unsure. Done Rite found that my main line was clogging causing all of the other drains not to work. It sounded strange that no one else had even mentioned this. I went ahead after hearing the price and let them clean the main line. To my amazement the bill was not much more than I had been being charged to just clean some drains inside. Since then it has been two years and no problems. I even got a call one day just to check to make sure everything was working. What great service and follow-​up. Done Rite has been a blessing and seems to be the most knowledgeable plumbers of the four I had used. They are truly a great American company with trained people who do the job correctly. If you want your plumbing issues done well, and at a great price call Done Rite Plumbing.

My family has used Done Rite Plumbing/​Plumbing Done Rite for many years. We will not be using them anymore and wanted to share our story.
Done Rite came out on a Thursday after we heard the sump pump backup battery beeping. At that time they determined that our main sump pump wasn’t working (hence the reason the back-​up had been beeping-​it was called into action). They replaced the main sump pump and assured us that the system was in working order. They stated that the battery for the back-​up pump was recharging.
On Saturday a storm rolled through the area and knocked out power. My parents walked down into the basement late Saturday night and discovered water everywhere. They immediately tried to reach someone from Done Rite without success, leaving a message that wouldn’t eventually be returned until Monday. Two family friends (with plumbing experience) came to the house on Sunday to help out, since we couldn’t get in touch with the Done Rite folks. They discovered that the main sump pump was not working… the same pump that Done Rite had replaced on Thursday.
Two Done Rite plumbers did come to the house on Monday. Things happen, I understand that, but I now had a basement full of water three days after Done Rite had serviced our equipment. Rather than deal with the problem at all, the front office folks refused to speak with me after their plumbers came to the house. They referred me to their insurance agent (SL) who rudely refused to provide any assistance. They refused to take any responsibility or provide any assistance with, well, anything. Had I at least been able to speak with a manager or someone in the front office to explain my situation, I would have been satisfied, even if they had still decided not to take any responsibility. But I didn’t even get the chance to explain my side of the story. Done Rite refused to return my phone calls after their technicians came to the house on Monday.
Beware of using Done Rite. Despite their name, don’t expect them to make things right if anything goes wrong.
