I love this little old school place ot get Italian grub! The sandwiches are handmade and great. The lines can be quite long so pack your patience. Authentic Italian fare with a nice cooler with pre-made dishes that are easy and you can take credit for! LOL. Lots of jared, bottled, caned, packaged and fresh food from local comp[anies as well as from the mother land Italy. Great, very knowledgable staff that knows what their doing. It worth a visit to Claro’s to check it out. At least buy some bread! I recomend Claro’s Italian Market in La Habra.

I usually don’t write negative reviews. But… I stopped by this morning before work to get a sandwich. I really wasn’t greeted by anyone, everyone working in the deli looked liked they hated there job. No one smiled or had any customer service skills. I almost wanted to walk out but had already placed my order. The guy making my sandwich was talking to his co– worker as I patiently waited for my order! Everyone looked miserable. Another lady behind the counter was complaining about a rude customer from the day before. really unprofessional. The whole vibe in that place was really unfriendly and it really makes me not want to go in there anymore.

If you want a «real italian«sub… With real italian meats… Go to Claros. Any other sub wich place. Not even close! My go-to is the spicy Mike. Delicious ! The second you step in deli. You’ll smell the difference !! The BEST!

Claro’s has a great deli counter. They make premade sandwiches, calzones, sauces, pizza dough, etc… My family likes to get the calzones and sauces and keep them handy in the fridge for easy heating. They also have a desert counter with authentic Italian sweets, cookies, etc. It’s not a sit down place, more like a store/deli counter. They have pantry items too, like canned tomatoes, etc.

This place has been a total fixture in La Habra. Awesome deli, great sandwiches and a section of frozen take home meals. The cookies at the front counter are pretty rad too.

I had been wanting to try Claro’s for quite some time now. I went in yesterday to grab some items for a beach picnic me and my husband were having. You have to get a ticket once you walk inside and when they call your ticker number, then you order. I ordered two large sandwiches, a side of artichokes and took some cheese sticks to have with our wine. The sandwiches were delicious! The cheese sticks were stale, which was a let down. I did notice there wasn’t an expiration or sell by date on any of their food items which was a little strange. Would go back for some meat/cheese or sandwiches, but probably wouldn’t venture off of that to ensure the freshness.

used to go to this place with my grandma Angelina. Still remember all the awesome cold cuts and top shelf tomatoes. I recently found this place when I was working up in San Gabriel. Just like the old days. Staff is so nice and you can buy groceries and make a fine Italian dinner or order lunch there. Its all good.

This is the second time I’ve been in here for the sandwiches and it is amazing as usual! I choose the build it yourself option which I chose, jalapeño muenster cheese, Italian turkey, capecola and salami with lettuce tomatoes and mustard

Claro’s premade sandwiches are such a steal! $ 5.99 for a large, which is about a 10″ behemoth that you can easily split between two people. Of course, they’re premade, so you don’t have much of a choice as to what goes into the sandwiches, but if you’re not picky(like me), then it’s a great deal! The sandwiches always come with a type of meat(or two), cheese, and veggies. It’s different every day, and sometimes they have a couple varieties for you to choose from. I’ve had sandwiches with turkey and ham, as well as ones with roast beef. Haven’t had a bad one yet! They also carry a great selection of salads, and premade Italian specialties, like lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs that you can bring home and heat in the oven(for those nights you’d rather not cook, or those dates you’d like to impress with your«cooking»). You can also find prosciutto, salami, and cheese to assemble a perfect charcuterie plate. Quick tip: There’s a limited number of premade sandwiches a day, and once they sell out, the deal is done. However, you can always get a custom sandwich for just $ 2 more.

A buddy of mine told me about this joint this morning, so I figured I would check it out. I can’t believe how much I’ve been missing out on this gem. Picked up A large Great Grandpa Joe with everything on it and a Coke to go. I was very pleased, delicious sandwiches. Their sauce and noodle selection is incredible and not to mention their own desserts that they make are amazing. The lemon drops were delicious. Picked up a Claro’s Market Recipe book for $ 20 and will be back in soon to give one of the recipes a go!

Go to spot for Italian. Although this place isn’t a sit down joint, the sandwiches are worth the take-out option! The first time I came here, I wasn’t sure what I had got myself into but I heard a lot about the place so I gave it a shot! The sandwiches are all good! And I loved how the market was right behind the deli, so you can shop Italian groceries while waiting for your food. The environment is friendly and it feels like Italy! Great spot, highly recommended for sandwiches.

It’s refreshing to see a little neighborhood delicatessen like Claro’s. Sure, it’s an Italian market, too, but I bet that 90% of it’s customers come for the deli counter. Their meats and cheeses are fresh and delicious and are great for picnics, tailgates and work and school sandwiches. This time I came for one of their delicious sandwiches. Now don’t come here expecting Subway prices because these are NOT Subway sandwiches. This is a true deli where they slice the meat and cheese fresh when you order your sandwich and the variety is 10x more than your typical fast food sandwich chain. The bread is fresh Italian loaves with just the right amount of crunch. Be sure to ask for extra condiments, like double mayo and mustard, as the bread does absorb some of the moisture and you will have a somewhat dry sandwich otherwise. On Sunday’s, don’t dawdle as they close promptly at 2 pm and the parking lot and crowd inside at 1:30 was proof of that.

I am used to the San gabriel location but today I wanted to try this location. This review is based on what I experienced today in claro’s, la habra. First of all, this location is tiny. Much smaller than the others I have been to. Meat deli is eh, nothing impressive and somewhat limited. I also hate when all the«meat ends» are sold because that meat just doesn’t last as long. We bought a few pre-made sandwiches anyway, but they were very cheap on the meat. Not used to sandwiches with all bread and fixings and very little meat. Ugh! Everything in the refrigerated and freezer section looked absolutely disgusting and I just disliked the whole experience. Cookies for $ 12.99 per pound were all hard as a rock and sitting out in the open, which I don’t love. I went there for Easter bread and there were only three loaves and two looked overcooked and were hard to the touch. Totally disappointed!!!

Grew up going to Claro’s in SG, so I was excited when I discovered many, many years ago that they had a location close to Whittier. Glad to report that the service is still great and the quality remains tops. They have wide selection of imported and domestic Italian goods. Of course, the real star, besides the service, is the deli. The sandwiches are huge and you can customize to your heart’s content. Be sure to add some sides to your masterpiece for a complete meal. I wasn’t able to try the hot pasta dishes at this location, but I definitely will next time. If you feel deserving of a treat, pick up a black and white cookie by the pastries. Mangia!

Love this little deli by my work! I’ve only tried the Spicy Mike and Cousin Kara but both were good. I liked the Spicy Mike sandwich best though because I like a little kick to my food. Unfortunately the first day I decided to try it they did not have all the meats that originally go in it but substituted some delicious pepperoni. Cousin Kara was turkey and salame, it was a good turkey sub. My first impression of the place was that it was quiet and serious as I ordered my sandwich. I was not sure if the workers looked happy or not. I also thought it was cute you had to take a number before ordering. During my second visit, I thought I would be a bit more familiar so I walk straight to get a number and to my surprise the whole deli was full of people around 1pm on a Thursday! A really nice man gave me his number as I walked in trying to help get me ordered quicker. That was really nice of him. I noticed local couples and elderly people here ordering sandwiches and cold cuts of different italian meats. Some people bought basket fulls of meats, cheeses and other tasty ingredients to make a big italian dinner. The only reason I knocked off a star isn’t anything personal against anyone but because the staff is made up of a lot of older folks, they tend to be extremely slow! From slicing to making subs to checking people out at the register. I waited ten mins with two cashiers and only two people ahead of me after having already waited almost my entire lunch break to get called and have my sandwich made. I spent about 20 minutes to get one sub and pay. Next time I will call ahead and order when on a time crunch. Of course this place has good items in store but it would probably be better and more efficient with a quicker and friendlier staff. I will definitely return to try another of their signature subs and possibly pick up some things to cook with. Very cute deli with many selections.

This place is such a gem! If you like to cook Italian food or just eat it Claro’s is the spot! First off they have any and everything you need to cook an authentic Italian meal; I’m talking fresh breads, pasta’s, meats, cheese, sauce, oils, olives, pickles, cookies, pots, pans, noodle makers, aprons, t-shirts, kitchen tools, candies, sodas… I think I’ve made my point. Ditch the grocery store and support your local deli folks! Staff: Very friendly willing to help you out if you have any questions. Cleanliness: This place is spotless, but it is a little dark inside. There’s a big glass window where natural sunlight shines through so it’s not like terrible darkness. I’m accustomed to big fake florescent lighting so I was taken back a bit, but I appreciate the overall presentation of the store. Pros: You can order anything from the deli to go over the phone. Call in and they’ll have it packed and ready for you. They serve hot pasta lunch for around $ 5-$ 7 bucks but it’s limited. You can come in and order a delicious sandwich made fresh to go! Way better than Subway(I suggest getting the Great Grandpa Joe with mustard and pickle). Cons: The hours are reasonable but… 6 pm is kinda early to close. Overall: Try it out for yourself!

I feel like I’ve been missing out over the years because I had never stepped foot inside a Claro’s. To be honest, our first reason to visit was on St. Patrick’s Day and I was craving something corned beef. I didn’t want to go to an Irish pub or anything else that was going to be overly crowded for the occasion and the Unilocal app said they had this specialty in a sandwich. Parking is simple and the outside is dated. I love these old type places because they have so much character. I’m not sure if it’s all family owned, but all of the workers seemed like a tight knit group of peeps. If you want sandwiches, you walk to the back of the store and place your order. They have a ton of great options to choose from, but I already knew what I wanted. It was hard to resist ordering other things as you’re face to face with a variety of delicious meats, cheeses and salads, but we stayed strong and left with only two sandwiches. The corned beef and the Italian. This little market has everything you could want to create a delicious feast to just a few homey tastes that remind you of the old country(if that’s where you’re from that is…), everything is fairly priced and definitely imported from Italy. We glanced through the wines and some of the snacks, but weren’t able to resist the power of the pastries. The store has a big display case full of cookies and I think we ordered almost one of everything. They are heavy — real butter is used here, but that’s what makes everything taste better. We got our sandwiches and took them to a nearby park to eat. There is limited seating besides a few tables inside, and it looked like people grabbed things to eat in their cars. The sandwiches themselves were huge and packed full of fresh meat, cheese and condiments. The bread was airy and fluffy and I had a hard time finishing half, but powered through and got the whole thing in the stomach. No regrets. I’ll definitely be back to this little market and it’s sister locations. I enjoy coming to small places like this that look like they haven’t changed much since they were built.
