If you enjoy undercooked chicken, restrooms that are falling apart, and getting food poisoning then this place is for you. Went there last week with my husband cause we were going to the movies near by. This place is run down. Staff needs to revamp their customer service skills. While we were getting some salad you can hear the kitchen staff yelling at each other. At first I thought it was just me imagining but I found myself thinking and speaking out loud and said” is it me, or are they loud!?” A complete stranger replied«Oh no, they are loud.» That was only the beginning. My husband got some undercooked chicken so I thought I’d let the restaurant manager know. He was apologetic and gave us a complimentary meal for next time. We couldn’t really enjoy our meal after that we both started to feel sick to our stomachs. Needless to say, we won’t be coming back to this location again.

Home Town Buffet catered a Christmas party for 100-people at my garden club. Every entrée was superb — flavorful and perfectly spiced. Joshua, the manager, was very accommodating, flexible, and generous in serving portions and entrees. He was open to all our ideas and suggestions; together we put together a fabulous menu. Zenon, the Master Chef, catered the event. He actually came in on his day off to personally supervise the preparation of the cuisine. Cuisine met with RAVE reviews from EVERYONE. Food was catered in immaculate stainless steel pans which eliminated serving dishes, servings were large, all food tasted fresh and ORGANIC, served HOT. I simply cannot say enough; it was FABULOUS! Home Town Buffet’s excellent service, expertise, efficiency, and outstanding cuisine sets them apart from the rest — Home Town Buffet is the Best of Buffets — 5-STAR HANDSDOWN!

I used to love this place. I took my family there today; the check came to nearly $ 50.00 for the four of us. This is much more than in the past, but that’s another issue.) It didn’t look like the same place. The bathrooms were absolutely filthy, enough to make my wife sick enough that we all had to leave the restaurant so we could go home. Their food areas were in need of replenishment. The fruit looked old and soggy. The place was sloppy enough for a comparison to the aftermath of a food fight. I remember the past when employees constantly tidied up and wiped food away. Not today: only once did an employee clear our table of used plates; there were still several plates there when we left. I awarded two stars instead of one, because it’s Hometown, and the food was generally tasty. But we lost our appetite today fast.

So I came here with my family to enjoy there delicious food the cashier was wonderful and the server was nice but when I went to get ham I was waiting for a worker and a this Asian man that worked there kept staring at me but didn’t help me and he saw me waiting for quite some time I waited there for three minutes until a worker passed by to help me I understand when people are busy but when people are just standing there doing nothing than that’s something else. Other than that everything was perfect

Food was absolutely terrible. Would NEVER come again. All of the meats smelled like 3-day old diarrhea(They even claim that its been left put for hours and was extremely dry. I literally spat out every bite I took. The overall quality of the food was as equivalent to rat food, absolute garbage. I’m barely giving one star because there’s no option for«Zero Stars» and the fact that they offered to refund our money. Don’t come here. Just go to anywhere else but here such as chipotle, chikfile, or souplantation. Made my friends and I feel like vomiting and gave us food poisoning. Absolutely don’t come here. Everything is trash and I’m surprised this place didn’t get shut down by health services.

The whole place was a dump. From there bathrooms to the dessert. You really can’t tell the difference between the two. Cheese cake was paste, steak was dry, and there was a piece of brush in my food. Now how the heck do you get brush in someone’s food???

We use to be regulars at least once a month. Since management changed, food is okay, but they run out and make you wait. People attending starting with the managers, horrible!!! Haven’t been back. Manager was rude to us once. We came back thinking he had a bad moment, not so. He is rude… and his food is not as good as it was… Maybe it’s cleaner and for that all I can give him is one star!

I’ve been going to the Hometown for years and all I can say is that this is the best one I’ve ever been too. They have great customer service. I was greeted by a friendly cashier named Crystal, little to my surprise she was my server as well. She made my family and I feel so welcomed, and the new manager Josh is great! 5 stars all the way, I’ll becoming back real soon.

The worst place to eat… I liked it before to eat once in a while but I don’t go there any more since I saw the workers touched the food after their dirty towel. When I asked my money back, the manager was so mad and no apology or anything. When I called the headquarter, they were not nice either. Any businesses that are not in customer service, will not be in business soon or later, specially these days. I say this because I’ve been seeing this…

The three stars are for the customer service and fresh food. This restaurant has seen better days. It is old, worn out and needs renovation. The staff members are friendly. The food is tasty and fresh. Now the dessert table is another story. I couldn’t find one dessert that was baked well. They need to revamp that area. I rather have a great piece of cake than several choices of disgusting dessert options. What really made me disgusted was the cleanliness of the bathrooms. I took pictures of that. Now if you don’t care if the restaurant is old, has outdated décor and has dirty restrooms then Hometown Buffet La Habra is for you because the food is good. Otherwise try Soup Plantation or Golden Corral.

If you want high quality dust falling off the lamps into your Mac and cheese this is the place for you! This place is so unsanitary its disgusting. I wouldn’t even come back if they paid me to eat here. All the plates are not even clean let alone the forks smell like they were stored in someones a**hole. I’m currently sitting in a booth here with a stomach ache. Not only does the food taste like shit but the service sucks too. The waiter Khrystal walked around and gave everyone cookies but me. I’m pissed. I got some chocolate cake that looked promising but don’t judge a book by its cover. If I wanted some dog sh*t I would have stayed home with my dog. The nacho cheese had an inch and a half layer of stale crust. The soda machine taste like it hasn’t been clean in years. If it was possible I would have rated this place a –5. Moral of the story is don’t go to home town buffet. Sincerely, Matthew Peavey

You are getting what you paid for. The price is good and the food was plentiful. I like the baked chicken as it was crispy and juicy. I made my own waffle and chicken breakfast. Although I did have to wait for 10 minutes for the chicken to come out and they appeared to try to work hard to continue to fill the dishes. Our waitress is sweet and always smiling as she walked around the restaurant picking up the dishes.

We have been here twice and I will not come here again. I get it that it is suppose to be low quality food in volume. But come on! The food was simply disgusting. The soup was left heated so long that it formed a crust on top. The salad was warm and wilt. The rice were barely cooked. The deep-fried chicken was so dry, all you tasted was the breading. The stirred-fired vegetables was so over-cooked and salty. The roast beef and ham slices tasted dry like your beach sandals. Finally, I thought… maybe the desserts will not disappoint. I thought wrong. I tried the cheesecake. How do you mess up cheesecake?! It had the consistency of whip cream. Gross!

Absolutely disgusting. No ice in the ice machine, soda not working, dirty plates, food that looks hours old. And will someone please tell me why the hell the jalepeno corn muffins taste like fish?!?

This HTB is terrible now. Good service but crappy food. Small selection for dinner. The baked chicken was raw told the manager she argued that it comes out pink. Didn’t eat that chicken. The vegetables were dry and the deserts were even bad. The vanilla ice cream was yellow. Didn’t eat that. The best part of the meal was the drinks. I felt ripped off and unsatisfied with my meal. Since I left my stomach has been upset. That was the last time I go to that HTB. Sorry but don’t waste your time here.

Good breakfast, but I’d rather go to Grandpa’s house. Coffee deserves 5 stars. It’s very strong. Fresh Orange juice is served. They have menudo, and an omelette station. Props for that, but the food quality wasn’t exactly satisfying my taste buds.

Think of a buffet and hometown buffet this will be the first that pops up. I don’t know what happened to this place… So much hate from these peeps… $ 6 for lunch is pretty good… Ahhh the instant chicken noodle soup. The noodles are soggy the soup is made of salt… Instant nostalgia. I kinda like it. The segregation of white and red cups. If you have red cups… It means you’re a cheapo health freak who can’t afford to buy drinks… But you drink sprite anyways. The nasty plastic salad… It’s there just for looks. Who goes to the salad bar at hometown? You go to hometown to eat mashed potatoes and corn.(that’s what I did when I was a little kid). Oh and the ice cream! For some reason the vanilla was like beige… Dark beige… The beige you would see in a grandmas old 30 year old white couch that has became beige over time. In fact this place is filled with old people! Look to your left… Now right! There should be a old person eating with their loved ones… Saying, «here Edith have a salad.» How was the food? It was aiite. Better than frozen rv food. But less than Denny’s… Denny’s… That’s another story… The couch I was sitting on looked like a couch you would find in a crazy old cat lady’s house. There were rips and scratches. Looked like some plates were the same exact plates Since I was a kid… And that was more than a decade ago… The red soup bowl… Was in fact… Beige color as well… How did I know it was red… The handles… The handles were still red! Nostalgia one star. Service…empty table everytime I come back from picking out the goodies? One star And one more for friendly cashier… Kinda too friendly. Creepy… Crazy cat lady nice kind… but genuine. :)

My grandfather has been coming here for years — the staff takes great care of him and are always so friendly! A great group of people of this Hometown Buffett! If you don’t see just what you are looking for — ask — they’ll help you out! Thanks to the staff and crew for being so nice to grandpa and his caregivers!

My son loves this place, so here we are again! Sat in our ‘usual table’ but this time we found out the servers name! LARRY! This guy hustles! The times we’ve gone we watch this guy work and work hard! Non-stop!!! If you go and sit in Larry’s section be sure to tip him! You’ll see he deserves it!

There are sooooo many places to eat these days and most places what you see is what you get. BUT today at home town buffet our server/helper Larry and the manager on duty at lunch this Veterans Day went out of their way to help make today great. My daughter is disabled and autistic and only eats their fried shrimp and mashed potatoes. They didn’t have it today :(but I spoke to Larry and he found the manager and explained to him about my daughter and they brought her a full pan full. All I can say is wow and thank you! It helped make our day. We are oh so appreciative because not everybody would care enough to help make an experience be positive for a kid. My daughter doesn’t like change and they helped stop a breakdown by undoing/fixing the change. Thank you!
