I love this place. All the baristas are nice and friendly especially the lady with lots of tattoos ! The problem with this place is its too cold inside, and seating is quite a problem if you want a table inside. But still, its my favorite Starbucks

this starbucks isn’t really bad, but it’s very crowded. the 3 stars are not for their service, which is right on par with the other starbucks around, but for lack of space and always being crowded. if your like me and go to starbucks to study or use their wifi while sipping on some coffee then this is not the place. but if your just feening some coffee and in the area drop in.

Awesome service! The staff here are one of the nicest at any Starbucks I have visited. This Starbucks is located between Ralph’s and Trader Joes and is usually VERY packed especially at peak hours in the morning. Unless you get lucky or come super early or at weird times, it is very difficult to find seating. But if you get lucky, it’s a great place to get work done! I also love this Starbucks particularly because there are outlets everywhere and are much easier to find rather than having to scramble to look for them at other places. Although, a downside to getting here is that parking is a drag in the plaza.

Always clean, grade A service and product. Never had a bad experience with the baristas or other patrons. They go through 8 bottles of caramel per day at minimum. I’m a trenta drinker and always disappointed by a lack of lids. Good as any other Starbucks.

I used to come here a lot until I had a bad experience with one of the employees here, so now I make the extra drive to go to Peet’s Coffee instead. Or if I’m really desperate, I’ll go to the Starbucks in the Ralph’s right next door so I don’t have to deal with it. This place gets pretty busy and because of that, most of the employees sometimes have a hard time juggling orders. I remember one time I specifically asked for a cookie not warmed up. Usually when you do that, you get your pastry right away. The girl who took my order heated it up anyway, even when I told her not to do it(and used a BROWN bag… anything that is heated is in a WHITE bag). Umm, ok. I don’t like my pastries heated up at Starbucks because I like to save my food for later and I know heating it in your micro-oven would harden my pastry when I get around to eating it. I didn’t appreciate that and I got very snippy with the barista who gave me my drink and food. It wasn’t her fault, but I was super irritated. She apologized and gave me another cookie, which I appreciate but wow, that really put a kink in my morning. By the way, the girl who took my order probably didn’t like that I told her I didn’t want my cookie heated because she gave me this look that she thought I was a snob with her. You asked me if I would like my cookie heated and I said no. What is so rude about that? Otherwise, I like the Filipino guy who works at the cashiers(he’s always happy and smiling considering the bs he has to put up with) and the female barista with short hair whom I gave a hard time with for my hot cookie. Appreciate that immensely!

Open bright and early. I must say for frequenting this neighborhood working close by and all I’ve never been to this location. Same as any other Starbucks though. Just glad this one is close by and open. To bad it’s not a 24 hour one though. I got the usual my favorite white chocolate mocha hot of course and it tasted quite bitter. I had to ask the employee to put another pump of white chocolate mocha. She was nice about it and apologized which started my day off great.

Worst customer service at any Starbucks I’ve been to. Ordered a drink with extra carmel and the barista forgot it so I asked her nicely to please remake it. She did, but angrily slammed things around while making the drink, then slammed the drink down so it spilled on me. She didn’t even turn around to apologize. I’ve never had a bad experience here until now, highly considering driving to a farther Starbucks just so I don’t have to deal with her again.

I like this Starbucks at 8657 Villa La Jolla Drive, until university students overtake it. Some students hoard tables, play videos and music with the sound on. It would be great if the Starbucks staff here would discourage these types of behavior. Common courtesies aren’t common at this location. People, please use your headphones, not your speakers. If you want to sit and peacefully enjoy a beverage from late September through mid June, go somewhere else! This location doesn’t have enough inside seating. So I stay away from this Starbucks.

One word… incompetent. Ordered an iced latte and it was made relatively quickly. I asked for a cup of water three times and the 3 baristas were too busy to get me a cup of water. One was working at the bakery display case as that was SOOO much more urgent. Please. I worked at a coffee shop and I was a barista. It’s not that hard to reach over to the faucet and give a customer a damn cup of water.

WoW. .. my first Starbucks in the United States that is fluent in the understanding of milk tea. I was hooked up and am in love I must point out this is in an area more populated with Asian culture so many have an understanding of what makes up a good milk tea. For this coffee drinker. .. yea ! [ Starbucks can make these very well, but most are never trained in the creation of milk tea in the US — Starbucks in Japan speaks this with my Japanese as poor as it is ]

Busy location with both indoor and outdoor seating. Good spot if you’re in the area, parking is the only annoying thing here. Located in a decent size strip mall with Ralphs, Trader Joes, Staples, Chipotle, Marshalls, Ross, etc… there is plenty of parking, but the area in front of Starbucks is a pretty high traffic area, so parking can be hard at times especially lunch to dinner time. All in all, still glad they have a Starbucks in the area for a quick pick me up!

Whenever I come to this Starbucks I feel like they always mess up my order… Green teas turning into green tea lemonades, extra espresso shots added to the wrong drinks, and unwanted whipped cream added to iced drinks. They’re pretty good about changing out the drink, but when I’m in a rush, I kind of just wish they could get it right the first time… This Starbucks tastes like any other I’ve been to. The staff are relatively nice, but some of them are a little unfriendly. Store is also pretty small, and its pretty crowded all the time!

This Starbucks is always so cold!!! I’m always freezing here. I don’t understand why they have to make everyone so uncomfortable and cold. Also, the ac occasionally switches to blowing really gross, humid air for like 10 min. Then it goes back to being freezing air. :(so if you come here and plan on studying for awhile, bring like 5 sweaters and a blanket. I do like that there are plenty of outlets here though. There are about 8 tables inside and I think each table has it’s own outlet which is nice.

This is probably one of the busier Starbucks(SB) locations that I have been to, but I really like how the gift card display is easy to find — this is a rather new addition to SB stores, and I was easily able to find the gift card I wanted(the San Diego-specific one). While I didn’t order any drinks from this location(yet) and there was a line, it moved pretty quickly and I was helped in no time at all. Here’s what I normally get from SB, as well as some items that I wouldn’t mind trying: «Iced Skinny Mocha»: Once when I know I needed caffeine to get me through the day, I asked the barista for a recommendation for an iced, chocolaty drink, and she suggested this«Skinny Mocha.» It features bittersweet skinny mocha sauce, espresso and non-fat milk served over ice. I liked the sweet taste of the mocha sauce, and I asked for chocolate drizzle on top as well. I got my iced drink with soy milk instead to prevent an upset stomach, and I was relieved to discover that I was able to handle the caffeine just fine – no jitters(since I don’t regularly have caffeine) and no upset stomach from the dairy. If I ever need a quick fix again, I would definitely order this«Skinny Mocha.» «Iced Caffe Mocha»: If I do get coffee or drinks with caffeine, I almost always prefer them iced instead of hot. This iced option features espresso combined with bittersweet mocha sauce and milk over ice. I almost got this drink, but I opted for the«Skinny Mocha» option instead to try to save on some calories. But I definitely wouldn’t mind trying this cold, richer mocha drink sometime. My «Skinny» version was still sweet enough and contained just enough caffeine, so if I need a stronger dose/want a more distinct mocha flavor, I would go for this option instead. «Iced Caramel Macchiato»: This«Caramel Macchiato» was one of my college friend’s favorite drinks. I’ve heard it ordered many times while I was in line at SB, so I know it’s pretty popular. It features espresso combined with vanilla-flavored syrup, milk and caramel sauce over ice. Though I like caramel better when paired with chocolate, I probably would end up ordering this popular drink during some future SB visit, just to try it. I know it’s on the sweeter side, and I would opt for soy milk(and perhaps ask for a drizzle of chocolate). «Cinnamon Dolce Latte»: I love all things cinnamon, and I’m sure this drink would be a winner based on its fragrance alone! It features espresso with steamed milk and cinnamon dolce flavored syrup, and it comes topped with sweetened whipped cream and cinnamon dolce topping. I can just imagine that this drink is like a Cinnabon in liquid form. I definitely want to try this fragrant drink on a cold day … when I’m craving the spices and sweet taste of cinnamon. «Flourless Chewy Chocolate Cookie»: I didn’t even know that SB featured flourless cookies, and since I’ve tasted a flourless chocolate cupcake once – and it was one of the best I’ve ever tasted – I’m sure I would like this cookie. Though it’s crispy and chewy and studded with semisweet chocolate – and I prefer soft, chewy cookies over crunchy cookies – I’m willing to give this flourless chocolate option a shot because it’s so unique. «Sausage & Cheddar Breakfast Sandwich»: When it comes to my favorite breakfast meat, it’s often a toss-up between sausage and bacon — in the end, bacon usually wins, but sometimes I just really crave sausage. If it’s one of those sausage-craving days, this sandwich provides the perfect solution. It features savory sausage, egg and aged Cheddar cheese on a toasty English muffin. This sando is already a winner in my eyes because it comes on a toasted English muffin … yum! I’m sure the sausage-egg-Cheddar combo is delightful, especially if this breakfast option is served warm. «Egg & Cheddar Breakfast Sandwich»: This breakfast sandwich is one of the other ones on the SB food menu that I wouldn’t mind trying. It’s pretty plain – comprising egg and cheddar cheese on an English muffin – but this is a great choice if you feel like getting a lighter breakfast sans meat. I’m sure the combo is still delightful with the melted cheddar and golden-toasted muffin. «Chocolate Smoothie»: I didn’t even know that SB sold smoothies, but this one sounds yummy because of the mocha flavor(and hey, it’s a bit healthier because it has a banana … right?!). It includes a blend of mocha-flavored sauce, a whole banana, milk, whey protein and fiber powder and ice. I’m not quite sure where the chocolate comes from in this concoction(maybe they drizzle chocolate on top or blend in the chocolate flavor as well), but this combo sounds like a refreshing treat on a hot summer day.

Oprah Chai tea latte with 2 extra pumps of chai tea and soy milk. It’s my go-to drink and what has got me to gold status in one year… I’m obsessed. I also enjoy a scone or two and the mini-vanilla scones are tasty! Parking can be a challenge here and their is not a lot of seating in this location.

I was so excited when they finished my order right away, especially before 8 am, but then it turns out my vanilla latte tasted like nothing, so. there’s that. But– the brown rice and hearty veggie bowl is delicious, even at the ridiculous price of $ 7 for a tiny bowl. Will have to re-create the lemon tahini dressing myself sometime.

This Starbucks location is often very busy. I can’t stand the parking and there’s not enough inside seating. The coffee is still good mind you, but service here is not consistent. As of late, the breakfast staff is much friendlier than their lunch staff. Today, I didn’t get a single smile from the cashier(I would call him out by giving his name, but I’m not like that) and he looked annoyed when taking my order. He asked abruptly, «OK. Just what is it that you want?» Also, the barista that made my drink was yacking with a customer and didn’t acknowledge that I was trying to ask her if the drink she just made was mine. Mr. Smiley(sarcastic) never bothered to take my name. The barista also seemed annoyed that I interrupted her conversation. It’s a beautiful day, People! Enjoy life a little.
