Studio Barre – Bird Rock

I’ve been going to this place a lot lately! I found it on Class Pass, and it’s probably my favorite barre studio. I like it the most, because its the hardest class I’ve ever taken! They don’t have too much stretching in between the exercises which I like, cause I really just want to sweat! The only complaint I have is they repeat songs during the class! It can get to be annoying. Other than its great, its clean, they have everything you need equipment wise, and there is a cute boutique attached to the studio too!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Let’s just say it has become my second home! I can’t seem to get enough of barre! It’s actually pretty addicting; especially when you have such great, motivating instructors. I had never heard or tried barre before February this year. I came across a groupon deal and I decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did because now I’m hooked and I am seeing amazing results!
I love taking Jenn’s class. She is awesome; she motivates me and pushes me to do my best. She will correct my posture or my form if I’m not doing the exercise correctly. The routines are very challenging, but very fun. I’ve brought a couple of my friends/​coworkers and they have all loved it as well.
The studio is always clean and it’s spacious. Classes can get filled up, depending on the time a and day you go. Usually the afternoon classes get a little more crowded; I’m assuming because that’s when everyone gets off work.
I’m really excited to see the results in a month or two; I’ve only been coming here for a couple of weeks and I already love the little changes.

This is the first barre place that I’ve been to. I found out about it when I was driving to meet my husband for lunch in La Jolla area last year. I’ve come here 3 times and taken classes with 3 different instructors; Meridith, Jennifer (the owner), and Audrey. Every class is difficult & challenging, but every instructor has her own style of difficulty. Just get ready to get your thighs killed hahaha!!!
Usually, they’ll work on your arms first and then move to legs/​thighs, stretch your hamstrings, back to legs/​thighs again, and then abs exercise will be the last one. Yes, barre class is tough and sometimes I feel that certain movements took forever, but you’ll feel good & refreshed (though sore) after that.
The studio is very clean. Sometimes it smells really good like Anthropologie store hahaha!!! No need to bring mat because they provide it. Wearing non skid socks is a must.

I’m a huge fan of barre, and Studio Barre Bird Rock is hands down my favorite studio! A few words I would personally use to describe the workout… challenging, intense, fun, addicting, and hurts so good! I love that it targets every muscle group. You start off with a warm up including leg lifts, free weights for arms and upper body, crunches, push-​ups, and a killer plank series, (some days I’m already tired after just the warm up haha), and then it’s off to the fun/​brutal stuff of thighs, glutes, and abs. Don’t be surprised if your legs start shaking… just embrace it and own it! I always walk out of class feeling stronger and accomplished. What keeps me coming back are the instructors. Everyone is so sweet, energetic, and motivating. They push you to work hard and keep an eye on your form to help you get the most effective workout. The playlists are awesome, the studio is clean and super cute (and always smells good… those candles!), they offer towels and cold water, there’s great stuff for sale in the boutique… there’s nothing bad to say about this place. You seriously rock, Studio Barre Bird Rock! Thank you for the hot buns!

Love this cute little studio! Everyone there always has a smile on their face and has a great energy. I have been going non-​stop for the past month and definitely see a difference in my body. Not to mention they have the most adorable boutique in the front!

I am a barre addict! I’ve always hated working out, until now! The instructors are fun, inspiring and tough as nails. The results will be outstanding, though! You will love this class. It’s not for wusses, though!

I started going to studio barre about a year ago and out of the many different types of barre and barre studios this is the best! If you are looking for a type of barre that works out everything from legs to core and arms look no further! This is the only workout I’ve done to quickly give me results. I notice a huge difference in my strength from the beginning of the week to the end when I take 3 – 4 classes in a week. The instructors at the studio are the best! You never feel intimidated and the workout is always challenging no matter who the instructor is!

I can’t say enough about this place! Each and every one of the instructors is incredibly encouraging and welcoming. The community vibe is palpable from the second you walk in the door! The workouts are a great compliment to my life as a yoga instructor, giving me that extra push and challenge I need. There are times the instructors will give little adjustments to what you’re doing and it never feels forced or pushy, just helpful. And if you need a break from the exercise you’re doing, they won’t yell at you for not being on your highest tip toe ;-) I’d highly recommend Studio Barre Bird Rock to anyone wanting a challenging and invigorating workout while being surrounded by positivity and an amazing group of people!

The class: a high intensity full body workout that can be modified to your fitness level! Definitely a class that the more you go, the stronger you get! After just 3 classes, you will notice your posture changing and your arms and legs firm up. I have lost over 10 inches on my body by just incorporating Barre into my workout routine! In each class you will find a nice mix of people as well; women AND men of all ages, shapes, and fitness levels!
The owners/​instructors: Jen and Lindsey (the owners) are two of the sweetest people I have ever met. They are constantly offering incentive programs, encourage and welcome friends to try a class, and ALWAYS have a smile on their faces to greet you when you walk in the door. They, along with the other instructors, are extremely knowledgeable, and really put in the effort to make sure everyone who takes class has the proper posture and intensity level to meet their workout goals. My favorite part about the class is they come around and discreetly correct/​give you instruction. Every class feels like a private lesson!
Pricing: Hands down the most bang for your buck as far as Barre in San Diego. They are constantly offering discounted Packages and have great deals year round for class sessions and the boutique!

I found this studio using class pass, and by far this is the best workout I’ve done! It’s a challenging workout but they have amazing instructors that really help you get the right form. I saw changes in my figure instantly, once you go you’ll be addicted. Plus, the studio is so cute! Tons of cute workout clothes, candles, sunglasses, grip socks and jewelry!

Amaazingg! I’m having so much fun and loving the intense muscle burning workouts! Have never done anything like these workouts before. Can’t wait to get buns of steel! And the atmosphere is probably the most welcoming I have ever experience. On class ²⁄₄ and most likely will be getting more. :D

I had never tried Barre before and the instructors here made me feel as welcome as possible. They are all incredibly friendly and encouraging and will find a moment to correct you in your movement so that you get the best workout possible. I’ve been going consistently now for about a month and I’m seeing the results already!
The studio also has a super cute shop in the front including workout clothes, accessories and candles — worth checking out even if you’re not staying for class!

I’m new to barre and have been exploring different studios via class pass. I just have to say that I LOVED my experience here at Studio Barre. First of all, the studio is neat and clean. It’s got a cute little shop in front with the barre studio to follow.
What I loved most though was the structure of the class. The instructor was incredible! Her class was a lot harder than the barre class I had taken previously but I loved that! It was challenging in all the best ways! I felt like I was really working every muscle through out the course of the class. She also did a great job of coming around to correct posture and give you that extra push when needed.
This studio has wood floors so the socks can get slippery but the instructor even helped me to position my mat under me for maximum grip during various positions! So awesome!

Prior to Studio Barre, I neverrrr worked out (but hey better late than never!)
They target every single part of your body, but if i had to choose, my favorite exercises are the seat workouts! They’re always changing up the choreo so the workout is always fun, yet challenging. Note: emphasis on the FUN. Yes, the workouts are killer and I sweat and I shake and sometimes it gets too tough for me that I gotta take a second or two to cheat and rest (lol), but what keeps me coming back is that the workouts are FUN and they show results QUICKLY. Not even joking, my girlfriends used to always comment on how I had suuuuch a flat asian booty, but after just a few barre classes, they are shocked to see how much better my bottom looks!
& I really like the class style because the instructor will motivate you and push you to keep going (further than you’d probably push yourself!) And everyone there is so so SOO nice and encouraging. I’m quite shy and so I was a little intimidated to come for my first time but they are all really easy to talk to! Im too addicted to barre! They are always having promotional deals and stuff so you can always find the packages for cheaper, so try it!

I wasn’t sure what to think going into class here since there weren’t too many reviews about it yet. I was pleasantly suprised at the cute and clean looking studio when I arrived. The staff was OVELRY friendly and made me feel totally comfortable. The barre class was an INSANE workout. I was dying, but I made it through and it was super rewarding. i will definitely be back for more ass kicking!
Check with the studio for fun happy hour promotions on Fridays and Sundays, I heard champagne is iinvolved!

Ya know when you first go to a place and fall in love with the atmosphere and the people?! Well that’s what happened my first time here. Jen and Lindsay are the owners and are super friendly… The workout for the best butt and legs in town is on point… and trust me, I’ve been to a ton of barre studios! If I could give this place 6 stars, I would.
Beyond the workout and the cute studio, and great vibe, they have a phenomenal clothing, sock, tops etc… Boutique. It’s truly a one stop Shop! Hope these ladies are ready — because this is my new second home!
