I was skeptical, but had a blast on the segway! I thought they would be pretty boring to ride, they were really cool. We had some people in our group that were terrified of the segways, and I was really impressed with how our guide instructed them too. (The scaredy cat ended up having fun too) The tour included a nice blend of natural and social history of San Diego, and I left feeling that my money was well spent. I would go again, and they offer different options to accommodate different interests/​timeframes.

I’ve been on a few tours with James. Segway tours are one of our fave things to do with out of town family in San Diego. Our nieces and nephews love riding the Segways! James is informative and funny, highly recommended!

Super fun experience! It was a great way to explore La Jolla. The tour guides were very knowledgable and friendly. The segways are so fun and easy to ride. I’ve gone two times now and would definitely do it again.

So pleased with our Segway tour of the Gaslamp/​Harbor area with Todd yesterday. He was professional and engaging, and we learned a ton about San Diego. My girls had a blast and it was the highlight of their trip (and they were super nervous beforehand that they wouldn’t be able to do it!) So glad we did the tour, and I will take my husband next month to do the La Jolla tour!

My boyfriend and I did the Gaslamp tour! It was an AMAZING EXPERIENCE! And sooooooooooo Much Fun! Our Tour Guide! TODD! Was sooo nice, funny and informative :) cant wait to do it again!

We got the gaslamp segway tour deal on groupon for $ 50. If you want to add ppl to your party, they will add them for the same price. The tour guide was knowledgeable and even showed us things that were new to me (we’re native SD). Great experience, would do it again in a heart beat. U wore flip flops but I’d feel more comfortable with shoes.

I brought my work team here for a tour of La Jolla and we all had the best time! This company is run by professional and really nice guys, who were patient in teaching us all in how to ride segways. When I called at 7am to ask if I could get the Groupon rate for my team of 15, AND if we could do our tour ASAP, I didn’t have high hopes, but James called me back immediately and said yes! It actually made my day. We zipped around the beach in two smaller groups but we stopped and the guides made sure to take several photos of our whole team!!! It was the greatest time… being a native of LJ I honestly didn’t expect to enjoy myself so much. But segways are FUN and beautiful San Diego never gets old.

This was my first segway tour. It was just great. The San Diego tour through Balboa Park, etc was just the best.
James should also have a job as a comedian… he is hilarious.
Everything was taken care of and we felt really attended to.
I sent my nieces on the La Jolla tour… they loved it.
That will be my next one… cannot wait!

One of our favorite parts of our trip to San Diego was the Segway tour. Our guide Todd was a lot of fun and he gave a great tour of the city and showed us what San Diego had to offer. The Segways are fun to ride and it doesn’t take long to learn how to use them. We wanted to but another tour with them but we ran out of time. 5 stars

We loved the experience and the tour. Todd, our tour guide, took the time to teach us how to use them properly, directed us safely and took the time to explain the sites. Definitely a must do and will go again. Our two kids, 14 and 16 said this was the best part of vacation!

I’ve never been on a Segway before but have always wanted to try, so I contacted we love tourists and had an amazing 2 hours cruising the La Jolla area! Todd, our tour guide, was great! Very informative, great sense of humor, and we couldn’t of asked for a better day! Dennis

Amazing tour! Excellent service! I brought my volleyball team here for team bonding. They were hesitant initially but loved it once they got on their segways and began touring with James around San Diego. I will be coming back with my husband over the weekend. Very laid back and great if you want to see the city in a new exciting way.

Alright, so going on a segway might look like the dorkiest thing ever, but I had a BLAST! I felt like a little kid again. It was WAAAAY more fun than I expected. The owner, Jeem, was my tour guide. First of all, homeboy should be called WikiSanDiego because he knows everything about this city. We had a fun, fast-​paced tour. I did get a little chilly as the sun went down since we were cruising on those things. I would recommend bringing a coat or a sweatshirt. Anyways, even though I used to live in downtown SD, it was a freaking awesome way to see the city and I learned a lot. Whether you’re a tourist or a local, I def recommend you take a Segway tour!!!

My company recently decided on taking a Segway tour for a team building exercise and I was in charge of finding a company in San Diego. I found We Love Tourists on Unilocal and am so glad I chose to do the Segway tour with them! We had a blast! It was a lot more fun than we expected. We knew we’d look like dorks with helmets on and doing a tour, but really, it was a ton of fun trying to go as fast as we could on the Segways, learning about the city, and even interacting with passersby.
We took the San Diego City Loop tour which covers about 12 miles in 2 hours. The tour starts downtown and we made our way up to Balboa Park through Little Italy to the Harbor and back into downtown. After about an hour, we took a break, which was much needed. Even though we’re just standing on a Segway the whole time, they are constantly in motion, so you have to make sure that your weight is centered if you don’t want to move forward or backward. Our feet hurt the most after the tour, so make sure to wear very comfy shoes with support (tennis shoes). It didn’t take long to get used to being on a Segway; after our tour as we were walking to the car, we commented on how much it sucks to walk now compared to being on a Segway!
Our tour guide, Bridgette, was awesome. She was very friendly, personable, knowledgeable, and easy going. Bridgette did a great job in teaching us and we all caught on to how to operate the Segway very quickly. She gave us some tips and even encouraged us to go as fast as we wanted (where it was safe). We did stop at some spots and she gave us info on the buildings and the city. Being a native San Diegan, I actually learned some new things! Since we were focused on team building, I think it was just the right amount of information and allowed us to really move and have fun on the Segways. She didn’t have any problems with taking photos for us and also gave us some great happy hour spots to go to after our tour. I would definitely recommend taking a tour with Bridgette!
Booking the tour was very easy as well. I sent a text message (as their website suggests) and I got a text response very quickly. We corresponded via text initially, which is what I preferred, so it worked out great for me. I then spoke with Chris, tour booking manager, the week of our tour to confirm everything and received an email confirmation with the details. I got an awesome deal for our tour, just check their website for current deals or ask.
I think if I ever do a tour of any city, going by Segway is the way to go! I would definitely recommend We Love Tourists for their Segway tours. You’ll have a lot of fun!

What a great a fun way to see a place and get around town! My family was
visiting and we decided to try a Segway tour. You see them around town, even
on vacation, and you always wonder what it’s like. Let’s be real, they’re
kind’ve dorky and we’ve all made that face– ugh, segways! Yet, they look
fun…they are! They zip around up to 12mph and are quite comfortable and
easy to ride and maneuver once you get acclimated to it. Try as you might,
they don’t exceed 12mph so don’t waste your time or energy to amp it up any
faster because it’s just not going to happen. We ended up booking the 2 site
tour which included downtown, Gaslamp, Balboa Park and the Harbor. I called
and spoke to Chris the day before who happened to have some openings on a
Sunday afternoon. Chris was very professional, efficient and friendly. He
was detailed and gave us all the instructions we needed along with email and
confirmation. There are 2 locations so depending on which tour you book will
determine which location you go to. Obviously, the tour we took lands us
downtown as a starting point so you may need to get there earlier to find
parking. Also note, parking downtown isn’t always free so that may be an
additional cost you will incur unless you go on Sunday, like we did and can
find street parking. The other tour they off is the La Jolla/​Beach tour
which sounds really nice too. The guys at the business office were also very
friendly and had a very laid back vibe that was easy-​going and chill.
Albert, one of the owners is also a big foodie so you can dish with him about
favorite places to grub. Unfortunately, our tour started 15−20min late as
the other part of our group was tardy but that’s no fault of the tour. The
tour guide was nice and had a good sense of humor which he incorporated at
many stops along the way. The only downside was at times the areas we were
at could be quite loud from street traffic and/​or crowds and the guide spoke
extremely fast and could be difficult to hear. Otherwise, he kept good track
of everyone and made sure to give any specific instructions, if needed when
we were traveling along certain roads/​areas (eg. getting uphill/​downhill,
watching for speed bumps). My favorite stop was Balboa Park for sure. It
was nice to get around to all the different parts of the park and also learn
about some of the culture and area that I wasn’t familiar with. I believe
they limit the tour to 6 people max not including the tour guide which makes
it nice that it’s a smaller group. Lots of fun and great way to tour a city
including your own!

I took my 60 year old mother and 30 year old sister on a tour of San Diego with James from We Love Tourists.
Despite the corny name, they were a really great outfit and had a humorous, pleasing tour. Here is what I like:
1. It’s a small history tour! Always fun when you’re in a new place.
2. Entertaining tour guide
3. You get to push these bad boys to their max speed a couple of times! WHEEEE!!!
4. Not too expensive! Sometimes they have deals, call and ask.
I recommend doing this at the beginning of your stay– it’s a great way to get a layout of the city and make mental notes of where you would like to return to and spend more time.

First off, I want to thank Bridgette for a great time. Going through beautiful La Jolla with my parents who were visiting while my stepdad not controlling his segway was a struggle but she handled it VERY well; with patience and skill. She made it a point to explain how to drive it and had great energy in helping us. I’m really glad we went even though he was out of control enough to make my Mom fall, she had her first aid kit ready to go and helped her out.
It was such a beautiful day too! Gorgeous views, gorgeous houses and lots of great little facts about the city I never would have known without her knowledge. My only recommendation is not going with more than 3 – 4 people, if you get too far back, you can’t really hear some of the tidbits while you’re «driving» :) Which I didn’t mind doing at all seeing as I was the only one who lived here in our group. Was a wonderful opportunity to show new people around, and even for those who want to learn a bit more about La Jolla or SD’s history!
