Do not waste your precious calories here. We get it it’s fast food it’s probably not going to be amazing but it’s just nasty! We went around 8 pm and I ordered a chicken sandwich. It was so hard and tasted like it had been sitting there for hours. On top of the food being less than amazing, the service was just plain rude. I clearly asked for a sandwich just bun, lettuce, and chicken and got just chicken and bun. When I asked if I could get lettuce the man with a very feminine voice at the drive thru gave me attitude and said, «You said plain.» I repeated no I asked for chicken, bun, and lettuce. He then turned around and took his sweet time to bring my sandwich back. Management really needs to pay attention to the poor customer service their employees are giving.

Went to this location a while back and had the worst experience with the lady at the window. Unfortunately didn’t catch her name… how could I? She shut the window as I was asking for ranch. She basically threw my food at me and moved on to something else. Didn’t get my ranch or a straw for that matter. With that being said I came here again and was pleasantly surprised by Brooke. She was just so pleasant and sweet. She took her time and asked if she could get me anything else. As frustrating as working in fast food can be, she didn’t show it one bit. Best employee I’ve encountered here. She deserves to be acknowledged for it!

Too bad there isn’t a Minus Grade as a choice on this review. I’d give it Minus 10 Points! I have been eating at Carl’s Jr’s off and on for several years and routinely cause of the Chicken Club sandwich, or the«Chicken tenders» and Jalapeño Poppers. I finally ended up getting«sick» with some sort of food poisoning and had to go to the hospital. They took tests and I had to do follow ups as it was not clearly Salmonella etc… even though I had symptoms. There was even a possibility of «Girardia» which can be transmitted by NOT washing your hands or contaminated water. I started treatment right away and was still sick for 45 – 60 days. I spoke to the Carl’s Jr.‘s claims and filed a claim which was a total waste of time. They basically claim that unless the medical blood tests prove there was some sort of Salmonella contamination, they will not pay out. A food poisoning case attorney advised me to ask for $ 5,000 but that never happened. I was out the whole time and all I did was took homeopathic treatments, like Ginger root, Vitamin supplements, ProBiotic Yogurt etc… to replace my flora and liquids to keep my electrolytes up. Sometimes you can let it run it’s course, but not when you dehydrate as it can kill you. Long story short is Carl’s representatives didn’t do anything to help me out or even keep me as a customer. Therefore, I never go to Carl’s Jr. s in La Mesa. It appears their«Food Handlers» were NOT fully cooking the Chicken products well done enough on several occasions. I complained and nothing was done.(Under cooked) IT was such a hassle to have to go to the Doctor’s office and give all those tests, but when you are in constant pain and cramping, you will do anything to get better. I strongly recommend you all avoid Carl’s Jr.‘s in the future and avoid the one in La Mesa like the Plague. I have inspected their restrooms and they are NOT the cleanest ones around. All it takes is a contaminated«Food Handler» to touch himself and then your food without Gloves. and you will most assuredly get sick.

Finally a place that is training their employees. Lately it seems as if no places are anymore but here they’re definitely being trained. Super polite when ordering. They say my pleasure and always have a smile when I come. Thanks carls jr for actually training your employees :)

I go here usually once a week and I don’t know why but they refuse to give you a sufficient amount of dipping sauces or ketchup no matter what you order. I am not sure if they are rationing it or if the cost of sauces went up drastically, but even if you have 4 sandwiches they give you 1BBQ or 3 packets of ketchup with 3 large fries. The other ones in the area are way better about this.

Went here and ate with my mom. Got a Western Bacon Burger combo. It was nice, not too busy. Cashier guy helped us and was sweet enough to pick up our tray. I don’t know his name but shout outs to him I think he’s filipino/asian? Lol.

The worst Carl’s Jr I’ve ever been to! Unfortunately for me, it’s the closest one to my house. I’ve never been inside so I can’t comment on that. The food has never been freshly made or HOT unless I asked for it that way. ALWAYSCOLDFRIESANDPATTIES! I don’t always eat fast food but when I did, I liked CJ. Not anymore. SAD

This has to be one of the dirtiest Carl’s Jrs I’ve ever been to. All the tables were dirty. Now let’s think about this. The places couldn’t have had a load of people here since 6am. It’s only 9 am. Terrible that all the tables were dirty and the back behind the cashier was dirty. This was deplorable. I know I won’t be back here

I’ve been here before and had horrible service, but recently I’ve noticed a woman with curly black hair and she is so unbelievably sweet and genuine! I saw her interacting with retired regulars wishing them a great day and she got my order correct with a smile! She needs a promotion. Great customer service is hard to come by !!

They closed 30 minutes early and half the time that I am actually able to order food it’s burnt so yeah this is probably the worst Carl’s Jr of all time.

If you order a meal with fries, Always always ask for fresh fries, it’s annoying but it’s what you ordered. Wasn’t busy on a Friday night and their food was cold. Corporate was there, so the customer service was exponential.

My god. This place is the complete antithesis of fast food. My wife and I walked in to grab a quick bite before we braved the hoards of costco across the street and we waited 10 minutes at the front of the line before someone took our order. then the managers are yelling in spanish at each other across the restaurant while they are on break. they were laughing and having a grand old time at the expense of the customers dining experience(if you can even call it that). one star is too generous. these guys need to get their act together. its fast food, not rocket science. and these people want 15 dollars an hour. smh. avoid like the plague…

My husband, daughter and I visited today for lunch. We had coupons but they are only good if you both want to order the same thing 2 for $… So that kinda sucked… I ordered the Six Dollar Burger, my husband ordered the Famous Star and my daughter had the chicken strips and fries. My six dollar burger was very tasty and huge. They are very generous with their portion sizes in comparison to how much it cost. It’s a very good value. I didn’t get my husbands opinion on his famous star but he didn’t complain either and I had a few bites of my daughters chicken strips. They were delicious! The fries were good too. I think the Carls Jr staff has undergone the same training as the Chick-Fil-A staff. They were overly polite and ever thing ended with«My pleasure» :) I like this location. The restaurant is pretty clean, food is good, great value, and a friendly staff.

These people are god awful. They mess up every time without fail. No one is nice and food will either be cold or wrong. I ordered something and they got the order wrong twice and I ended up eating it an it was cold. Awful awful place!

It’s not the most amazing of places to get a burger, but by far not the worst. The food is ok, with little mistakes made if you happen to get your order’s made special. The food is generally cooked as well as you can expect for a fast food burger and the sides are tasty. The main issue I have with this particular Carl’s Jr., and why I gave it such a low score, is their drive-thru is awful. It’s always exceedingly slow, they make you drive to the front 80% of the time to help their times and three times I’ve tried to go through the drive-thru with them not answering the headset tone that someone was waiting at the box to order. Those days I just drove through and went somewhere else. I enjoy Carl’s Jr., but I would avoid this one if you’re in any kind of a rush or want decent customer service.

This place is starting to suck more. Very rude customer service. I used to like coming here & I’m sure I will again. But never to THIS location. Whatever happened to just being friendly? People are very rude here.

Faster service inside seems like it’s much faster than the drive thru They are pretty much zombies in there that has no clue with whats going on The last time I went they forgot the cheese on my breakfast sandwich Who does that When I just went this week I didn’t get a cup even when I ordered the combo also there wasnt any tops that go on the cups at the condiment stand The area that hold the peppers looked grossed and picked over Next time I will go to a diffrent one or probably just no go inside

We all know that Carl’s Jr. doesn’t have the most fancy fare and really, it’s only good for late nights that turn into early mornings. Orrr just a place that provides a vessel for your ketchup cravings(I know, that’s weird, don’t judge me). Anyways, the food here is okay, blah blah blah. What I’m really reviewing is the service… it blows. I opt for the drive thru when I’m lazy or don’t have makeup on or don’t have makeup on because I’m lazy… either way, I use the drive thru for convenience and so I can wear sunglasses without looking like a weirdo. Soo, after ordering extra ranch and ketchup, I pull up to the window to get my food and ask for it again. I’m asked to pull over and then I have my bag delivered. Friggen finally! I look into the bag and there’s noooo ranch or ketchup! What’s the point of asking so many times/using the drive thru if I eventually have to park and go inside to ask for it. Annoying. The other questionable service I received was inside the dining room this time. My husband and I walked in on what was apparently a more important conversation between two employees. The chick is leaning up on the cash register while she talks to her friend about how she’s in pain and how she should do yoga or walk… I’m assuming this was because she was pregnant or chunky. Either way, I DGAF what your new exercise régime is going to be. She realized we were standing there and turned to look at us with the most fake and cheesy smile. At that point, I was already frustrated with her lack of concern so I was hoping she would make this easy on us. Nope. She didn’t even know that the fries were changed back to their original style… not that BS natural cut stuff they were doing. Because she didn’t understand my question, she listed off all the kinds of fried sides they offered. Wow. I may sound like a snobby person coming into a fast food chain expecting miracles to happen, but I don’t think I’m asking for much. Give me my damn condiments and some effin attention when I walk up to the counter for goodness sakes.

It’s those darn homemade biscuit commercials I tell you! I gave in and tried one of their biscuit breakfast sandwiches with bacon, egg, and cheese with a cup of coffee. The biscuit sandwich is very inexpensive at $ 1.69 and the small coffee at around $ 1.30. The Biscuit came perfectly baked with a nice exterior crust and ever so fluffy inside.( ) Not bad for a fast food chain because they were actually better than the hockey pucks I have had at regular restaurants. The eggs were fluffy and the cheese on the verge of melting.( ) The bacon was a little dry but had descent flavor. Altogether, for $ 1.69, it was a great breakfast sandwich. The coffee was good and so was the service. Get a biscuit!
