This place is essentially the same as when it was Mary’s Secret Garden. I couldn’t go inside because they were closed, strange for a Monday afternoon. Their hours were not posted anywhere that I could find. I saw other potential customers walking up and looking in the windows too. Pretty stuff inside if only I could get I’m to see it better!

I too bought a recent Groupon and thought it was a great way to try out this store. Nice selection of reasonably priced stuff, which of course means much of it is made in China. The manager, Cherie, was very pleasant, quite helpful, and didn’t bother us at all like so many salespeople do. It’s rare that I am willing to meander through a store like this… Cherie’s attitude made a huge difference. I might have given 3 stars, but since I’m in between 3 and 4 I’m going to be generous since I think the previous review of only 1 star was(in my opinion only of course) a bit low given that she thought the merchandise was nice. Definitely worth a look if you are at Grossmont Center — it’s on the end near Grossmont Nutrition, Target, Pier One.

I recently bought a Groupon offer for this business hoping to pick up some nice items for my garden. While the merchandise was nice, the service was awful. My groupon offer clearly stated that it would be valid after Oct 6th. I went to the store on Oct 7th and was told they would not accept the certificates until Oct 8th since they couldn’t account for how many were sold. When I told the sales woman that I had a hardcopy that clearly stated when it was valid she said she still could not accept it but would hold any items I wanted until the next day. This was inconvenient and a bad way to treat a customer, a new one at that. She went as far as to call the owner who also refused the accept the Groupon certificate. The sales woman told me the owner was Chinese and didn’t understand. That was very offensive to me and I just told them they lost a customer. Groupon was very nice and refunded my certificate purchase. Bottom line — I suggest spending your money with a store who welcomes you and wants to keep you business.
