It really pains me to write a one star review; however, the customer service and overall experience continues to be increasingly worse each time I’ve been to this shop/​café over the past year. I have been going to this place over 10 years. Unfortunately, over the years, the service has gotten worse and worse.
The two employees that cover the store at any given time spend a lot of time, energy and effort on all of their duties «in the back” – I totally understand that there is a lot of prep work and clean up, but perhaps there needs to be an additional employee there to help support the patrons currently in the store. For example, when someone was helping me today and after waiting 45 minutes (and received no resolution) and I asked the other employee on working if I could speak to the employee to was helping me – he had a huge attitude and explained to me in a rude manner, «Oh, we’re really busy right now.» –I totally understand that things get busy – but really? I was sitting right in front of the register for 45 MINUTES waiting to be helped. 45 MINUTES and no help.
In short– one of the times I went to pick up a finished item – it was well past the date it was suppose to be finished. Luckily, I called first to verify if it would be finished – I think they threw it in the kiln last minute because when I picked it up, I was told that my piece was extremely hot and I had to wait over an hour before I could hold it.
This most recent time:
I ordered a Clay Print of my child’s handprint to create a birthday keepsake. Clay Prints are only done Mon-​Fri. The woman who helped me was very kind and helped me locate letters to stamp my clay. There were no full sets of letters A-​Z in any font.
I was told that the clay print would be ready in seven days and when I didn’t receive a call after 10 days, I called myself to find out that my clay print was ready to be painted. I told the store employee that since I live far away, I told her when I would be coming in to paint (Sunday, ¹⁄₁₆), «no problem» they said.
Two days later, I get a call telling me my clay print is ready to paint. –Wow! (Sarcasm) I was the one who called them TWO DAYS AGO. I also mentioned when I’d be coming in to paint a second time.
Sunday comes, I travel far to Cerami Café to Paint and I find out that the entire store is closed to the public and that I cannot finish my piece. So sad.
I came back to Cerami Café back for the second time to paint my clay print only to find out that the holes on the top of my piece were place too close together for me to use for decorative purposes. The holes were too close to each other. Management nor the owner will rectify the situation. Maybe I’ll have better luck/​service next time.

Had an issue but the owner attempted to rectify the situation within minutes of being made aware of a bad experince. I appreciate the promptness.

I’m updating my review. I spoke to the owner and he was very kind and understanding of my concerns. He fixed one of the problems for me and I am very happy about it! Thank you!

Had a birthday party for my daughter here. Not very satisfied with the quality of service. Our payment wasn’t processed the first time around so I had to make a trip out to repay. Then when we picked up our pieces from the party– they lost an item. So it made it very difficult to explain to a 5 year old that their piece didn’t make it but everyone else’s did. Wish the experience would have been smoother. Won’t have a party there again nor refer it to any friends.

The worst! They broke one of our items. Didn’t glaze most of them properly and have terrible customer service. Will never be back

Had a great time personalizing a mug ($ 20) on Saturday. It was not busy when we arrived at 11:00, but the pace picked up throughout our time painting our pieces.
There is a private side room used to host parties which was busy with two different children’s parties, so that seemed pretty successful.
On Friday nights they offer cheese, crackers, grapes, chocolates, etc and you can bring your own wine to relax and enjoy.
Anytime you visit, you are welcome to bring your own snacks while you paint your pieces and have fun.
The price range and variety of prices was great, so you could find anything to paint within your budget as long as you are flexible.

I’ve experienced ceramic painting at another company, but this place is better for your buck. They don’t charge you extra for using multiple colors nor do they watch you for overuse. They have a great selection of ceramics and paint colors. We purchased a groupon to go here and it actually expired. Once I mentioned the groupon they explained that they extended the groupons until September, so we were in the clear. Exceptional customer service! It takes 5 days for them to be ready for pick up and you can call to check up on the process. Totally a good place to go and paint with your kids or on a date.

I love coming here and have never had an issue with the final product or delivery time. HOWEVER twice now I have left messages with employees to have a manager call me back and they have not. I work in an office of 3 employees for a property that consists of over 400 units and we ALWAYS manage to call people back the same day. I’m not sure what mgmt is doing that is so important that they can’t make a simple call but it’s very frustrating and poor customer service. So either the employee who took the message is inept or the management simply does not care. Customer service matters!!!

Wow this is by far the worst business I’ve ever dealt with in my life! Besides the fact this place is a total dump everyone who works here is completely incompetent. I had to pay $ 50 for two overpriced cups to paint– one was a beer stein mug and the other was a wine glass. They said it would be ready on the 27^th when we called to see if it was ready it was not so we came in 5 days later only to find out the lost the wine glass. I called back and spoke to the manager to get a refund cuz what did I pay for?! They said they don’t do refunds– what! U lost my cup that I spent an hour painting and u won’t give me money back? The best they said they could do is give me 20% off the next time I come in– I mean why would I ever come back to this place?! Anyway the manager assured me he would find my cup and call me back in half an hour– he never called– I’m still out $ 25 and a waste of time and my dignity. I will never come back to this place!

Great place to hang out with your loved one. The only downside is that it gets loud at times if you have a large amount of kids painting.

As someone who is artistically-​inept at best, I was always a little hesitant to try places like this out in fear that I would become very frustrated. My boyfriend ended up planning a date night here, so I decided to let go of any expectations I had of my creative skills and be happy with whatever I produced.
When we came in, we were a little lost at how the whole process worked. The girl at the front desk quickly explained that we were to pick out a piece we wanted to decorate, pick out the supplies we needed, then find a table and paint away. Her explanation was so brief that we were still a little lost at the best way to approach the process even after she was done. I quickly noticed how expensive all of the pieces were. I mean, $ 20 for a mug that I had to paint myself? Come on. Even things as simple as a square coaster are upwards of $ 5. I ended up deciding on a mug, while my boyfriend painted a spoon holder for our stove.
There are lots of supplies to choose from, which almost makes it more difficult since I wasn’t sure which type of brush or product to use for the designs I wanted to paint. We had to ask the girl there several times which brush or stamp or sponge or other product was best for what we needed. The customer service there is definitely lacking. After we were done (which took over 2 hours since, like I said, I’m a fish out of water when it comes to art), we brought it up to the front desk, paid, and they told us we could pick it up in 4 – 5 days after it was glazed.
Overall, it was a fun experience but not something I would do again since it’s WAY overpriced and the customer service was unhelpful.

First off, I would give no stars if that was an option.
I went for the first time with a group of friends for a 50^th birthday party. I paid $ 23 for a mug and painted it for my daughter. When she went to pick it up, they couldn’t find it! The worker told my daughter that maybe someone from my group had picked it up and to check with them. I did just that, and unfortunately nobody had picked it up. Additionally, another person in our group had painted a bowl and they weren’t able to locate hers either.
I called back and had to leave a message (even though it was during business hours). I waited a couple days and when my call had not been returned, I called back. When I started explaining my story, the young lady on the other end was aware of my message but told me they still couldn’t find it. I stated that I wanted a refund, but she said that the owners only allow credit and I could come back and paint another mug! I asked for the owner to call me to discuss. It’s been two days and no call back
I’m very disappointed in the lack of customer service and will not be returning to paint another mug. What a waste of $ 23!

I came here with a two groupons I had purchased and brought my friend along to have share the fun. When we first got here the place was not that crowded, but we didn’t see any employees. After browsing for 5 minutes finally someone emerged from the back room where they keep their customers’ ceramics. Except she did not offer much help, nor did she seem pleased.
After finding something I wanted to paint, my friend wanted a plate from a higher shelf and waited over 15 minutes to try and ask for help, but she never got the chance to because the only employee was on the phone and also ringing up some customers.
Finally my friend settled on a margarita cup, but when we went to pay. Before even finishing with us she said told us to hold on a sec. She went to the back room and left my friend and I, along with about 5 other people, waiting in line.
Another girl came back and helped me with my transaction, but informed me that if I didn’t spend the rest of the money (my cup was $ 18 and the groupon was worth $ 30) would be gone. With that, I said okay, only to realize that I could get something else, it was too late. She said «I already used the groupon.» And didn’t even offer any other help.
I then went to get paint only to find out that there were not enough brushes and I told one of the girls who said she would wash some. It had been 20 minutes before she came by saying she forgot, meanwhile the other girl was still walking around talking on the phone.
Maybe it was just their mood towards working on a Friday, but they did not seem happy at all, nor was their customer service good.
Aside from that the painting was enjoyable.

I bought the Groupon to go here and was super excited! I had envisioned exactly what I wanted my piece to look like and I am SO excited to see the final product!
I was very disappointed however, in how few colors they had in puffy paint and paints overall. In my vision I really wanted a hot pink frame with white writing. They had no hot pink and no white puffy paint for writing. I had to think quickly on my feet and definitely learned not to just assume places would have something.
The employees working there were not very friendly at all and for the first 10 minutes of myself and other customers being in the store, they were no where to be found.
One positive from this experience is that I am excited to pick up my piece in only a week!

We came as a big group of about 9 girls to CeramiCafe on a Saturday afternoon. They were really accommodating because we all had Groupons we wanted to use. They have a wide selection of ceramic bases to choose from and a good selection of paint colors as well. I just wish that they had a better selection of puffy paint because they were either dried out or it wasn’t a color I liked.
It gets really busy here especially on weekends despite the location in a small outdoor «mall.» Parking is plentiful as it is in this plaza. I would definitely try to call ahead and see if you can make a reservation.

I always love this place. It’s the best place to take the kids and have a good date. It is great that it is in the mall so you can grab a pretzel and get a table and eat and paint and have a good afternoon. My daughter is only two and we still have the best time here. There is a Groupon right now 15 $ for 30 $ to spend. And it takes 5 days for the work to be baked and done.

Great location. I came here on a Saturday morning to use the Groupon I had purchased. They had just opened, and it was quiet when I got in there however the ended up being a couple of birthday parties in that day. I am glad that I brought my noise canceling headphones while I painted the vase that I had purchased. The children that were there were loud and crying for the most part with a few well behaved one sprinkled in. I can’t legitimately complain about the obnoxious children whose parents didn’t care that they were making a scene because that’s not up to the business to determine. However while all of this chaos was going on the workers were levelheaded because I’m sure that they’ve seen this kind of antics before. I can’t wait to see my finished piece. The nextTime I come back I will be sure to not come on the weekend so that I can avoid screaming children.

Came here with my wife on valentine’s day. It was our first time at Ceramicafe but have been to other places like color me mine in Washington D.C. so it was easy getting used to.
We were 30 minutes late to our appointment but they were really nice and accommodating. Gave us no trouble about the tardiness.
The valentines day package came with a thumb print necklace, our own table decorated with candy, desserts from the snack bar and a carnation for my love. All for 10 dollars. Of course we decided to buy ceramic pieces ourselves and paint one each. The Service from beginning to end was great. No complaints about the people there, atmosphere, location or anything else. Actually, just all praises! The hardest part is deciding what to paint!
They have everything you need as far as tools to make your piece look great. I wouldn’t say you need much experience anyhow as I saw people of all ages enjoying themselves. I think the most fun is finally seeing your creation when it’s done! Would recommend this to anyone and everyone I know.

I like coming here. I’ve been coming here for about 10+ years now. I’ve taken my kids here numerous times, I’ve come here with a group of friends on a Friday night, when they provide cheese and crackers and you can bring your favorite bottle of wine, and I’ve come here all by myself, for some peace and quiet.
The shop has nice big tables to work on. They have a great selection of ceramics to paint (a little pricey though), and a variety of paints and texture material to get your creative juices flowing… They play nice music overhead. If you ever have any questions, the staff are more than happy to help.
If I could change one thing (other than the prices) I would make it so that you could get your finished project back within a couple of days… But of course, that’s not going to stop me from returning to this fun place…

CeramiCafe is a great place to let the creative juices flow and release some of the day’s stress!
They have a plethora of options as far as what to paint. Ranging from baby unicorn piggy banks to beer steins. This place has something for everyone! Once you pick your piece you go up front and pay for it so you can start to paint! One good thing about this place is they don’t charge you a studio fee. At most ceramic places you have to pay for your piece plus a «small» studio fee to use their supplies. I did notice that the prices of the pieces were on the higher side so that’s probably how they get away with no studio fee.
I decided to go with a vase for my office. The possibilities are literally endless here! I decided to go with a very classy mustache theme for my vase. You do have to come back in five days to pick up your masterpiece but that’s the norm. It takes a bit to get all the pieces into the kiln to fire.
There were all sorts of people here; children of all ages, teenagers on dates, couples on date night, friends, even a few older people were here to paint the night away! This is a great place to come and be creative!
