I am a former employee–
I worked for this Conroy’s for a few weeks during this 2016 Valentine’s Day season and feel OBLIGATED to EXPOSE THE TRUTH behind the ownership of this Conroy’s at this specific location. The owner changes her prices daily and uses the excuse she purchases the flowers of «premium quality.» Purchase a single stem «premium quality» rose Thursday for $ 5, come back on Saturday and she’ll charge you $ 7 and claim so she can change and make up prices HOWEVER she likes. The owners do not care about their employees and expect them to bend over backwards for them. They will schedule you to work an 8 hour shift, but expect you to be WILLING AND ABLE to stay 2 hours after your shift ends. Nor do they care about the orders from their so-​called «valued» customers. People come in to the shop to inquire about arrangements and they will tell you flat out that they cannot make it with no excuse, no courtesy, or no offer to arrange at a latter date and time. Come in to ask about same day deliveries as ADVERTISED and GUARANTEED via 1 – 800 Flowers and THIS SHOP will refuse to deliver same day for NO VALID excuse.
If you are looking for a local florist that will give you excellent customer service, PREMIUM quality flowers for a lower and more reasonable price, without making up their own excuses, YOU are better off at your local Vons or Albertsons.

Twice ordered from website (one for me and then an order for my office) and they called saying inventory not available. Referred a friend to deliver at the same address I had them delivered to the day before. They delivered mine, but told my friend his was undeliverable. If you are trying to get «sending flowers to sick friend» done, do not go to them. They will just make it more complicated.

If the generic arrangements they have in the fridge aren’t what you are looking for, look somewhere else. Leaving empty-​handed.

My flower arrangement looked beautiful for my girlfriends birthday, so i ordered with them again this year for her birthday. There was a slight mixup in the details on the order, but it still looked great. The big takeaway is that Conroys was so disappointed that they made me a fresh bouquet on the spot and made my girlfriend feel great again.

I stopped by at noon to inquire about a simple corsage for my wife’s birthday on the Wednesday before Mother’s Day (Sunday).
I was informed they could not do it (no explanation). I said I could come by later if they were too busy at the moment. «We just can’t take any orders» was the reply. Then complete silence as my jaw dropped. No further alternate suggestion, or even «We’re sorry». Seriously?
Bad business, worse customer service. And they’re way overpriced. They just let me walk out. I drove over to the closest Albertsons grocery store and picked up a beautiful orchid corsage (no waiting) and paid a fraction of what the Conrad’s price would have been.

I usually never go to Conroy’s to buy flowers because they’re too pricey. Well, I went yesterday evening to try and buy a few last minute bouquets of flowers. Yes, I know yesterday was Mother’s Day so of course they were ever more over priced and had nothing left at that point. Daniel really helped me out. All that was left were a few bouquets that were $ 49.99 each and I wasn’t impressed. After visiting 2 other flower shops before Conroy’s, I was desperate for flowers. Well he put together 3 little bouquets for me that were perfect! They were a mixture of left over for the day but they turned out great. My boyfriend and me actually liked them more than what was already put together. He was awesome and helped me out a lot! He made them look great and reasonably priced them for me. Just because of the service I got yesterday I will be back. Thanks for the help!

Mrs. Chang did the arrangements for my mom’s funeral services recently. I was told she is the one who does the flowers for funerals and she is the owner, which I liked from the beginning. I found a special urn arrangement I loved on another location’s site, La Mesa did not have that arrangement. She reproduced this arrangement for us from the photo on the other site and it turned out just like it. It was very beautiful, detailed and well done. It worked perfectly in displaying the urn and I was so happy with it. She also did a large spray that was beautiful and well done. The flowers were delivered on time, actually a little early, to the church. I made all the arrangements and order by phone as I live out of town. I was very happy with Conroy’s La Mesa and based on this experience, I would highly recommend them.

Really nice staff. The owners were nice also. Very helpful with assisting a casket spray.

Stopped in a few times to pick up a little something something for the wife. I like to see what I am getting so I have never used the delivery service. But I admit I only go here when the little random shack down the street is not open…

Valentine’s Day was a bust.
My husband TRIED to send me flowers to my work for Valentine’s Day… I was home by 5 and my husband walked in and asked, «Where are the flowers?»
«What flowers?» I asked…
Well, he called Conroy’s and he was told the delivery driver would call him back. We waited an hour… by this time it was nearly 7pm. He called Conroy’s back and they basically said that they had lots of orders they couldn’t deliver today, just too many orders placed and then he was refunded his money.
Really Conroy’s? If you can’t deliver flowers on VALENTINE’S DAY, don’t accept the order. Absolutely unacceptable. My husband was trying to do something very sweet and you totally screwed it up.

OMG! My husband ordered a springtime wishes bouquet through
for Mother’ Day along with a box of GOURMET HArry London chocolates. What I got was FAR from that. It was a bouquet of 5 old carnations (2 green, looking like they were left over from St. Patty’s Day, and 3 purple/​pink) and the rest filler flowers of yellow daisies and filler greensthat loked like it was thrown into the vase. My husband thought it looked like a bunch of weeds! AND a box of Russell Stover chocolates, far from gourmet)! I called
last night, told them what I received and they said they would contact the florist and get a beautiful bouquet and a the right chocolates sent to me today. As of 7PM nothing arrived so I called
again. The woman who I talked to said that Conroy’s refused to redeliver saying that we got what we paid for and that they ran out of Harry London chocolates and substituted the Russell Stover. The woman on the phone said that since Conroy’s was unwilling to step up she was going to contact another florist and have the correct order sent out to me tomorrow, put in the paperwork to make sure Conroy’s doesn’t get paid, AND she’s going to see about getting us a credit at
. So use
BUT Make sure Conroy’s is not the florist delivering!

blows too! I still did not get my flowers or chocolate and had to call them AGAIN!!! AND a man from Conroy’s flowers came to my door demanding that I give them back the crappy flowers since the order was «cancelled». So I called 1800flowers to see what was going on with my order, b/​c I’m not giving anything back until I get my other flowers and chocolates. And 1800 flowers told me that my order was cancelled but nothing else had been done. Nothing was ordered for me AND a refund/​credit was not given! I was pissed! I told them that it was unprofessional and unacceptable and I expected what I was promised the night before, flowers, chocolates and a credit. 1800flowers then told me that there wasn’t any other florist in my delivery area (Which I find hard to believe) and all they could do was issue me a refund. All this time the florist is still waiting outside my door. I told the florist that he could come back when this was straightened out or he could continue to wait. After a few minutes the florist told me that he would be back later for the flowers after I got thing straightened out with 1800flowers. I then told 1800flowers that I would give the florist his flowers back AFTER I got my refund so they could either tell him to come back in 3 – 5 business days or issue me an immediate refund. They issued me an immediate refund and the florist never came back. I did not ask 1800 flowers for the flowers, chocolates, and credit but they offered and then they didn’t give it to me. We will NEVER use either business again! Oh and I can thank them for ruining my Mother’s Day.

I have not purchased any flowers from here, but I did go to try to get some balloons filled. I bought some balloons off ebay for my daughter’s party and I needed to get them filled. Party City wanted around $ 10 total just to fill my 11 balloons so I thought I would try another route. Well I went here just to see and they wanted to charge me as if I was purchasing a balloon from them. $ 3 for latex and $ 6 for mylar. The total would have been $ 45! Just to fill my balloons! They could have given me a little bit of their helium and made some money. I went to Albertsons in Spring Valley to their floral dep, and the lady was very helpful, filled my balloons, and I got 6 extra latex balloons and she only charged me $ 7.99

This is our local Florist and we have used them many times for many occasions over the years. We have always gotten good service and reasonable prices with no complaints. They have never gotten an order wrong and the flowers are always beautiful.
