Love their pizza! Best in San Diego that we’ve found so far! Second best… Nonno’s on Baltimore! Great pizza, and warm, friendly service!

food is good!!! service… Must be family run. The one that worked the hardest was maybe 7 years old two older ones a boy and a girl sat and yelled shut up to each other while the mother sat at a table. A family came in for the first time and didn’t know to sit or order at front and no one told them anything. We never got checked up on to refill water etc. Our waitress never came back once took our order but she was about 15 feet away on her phone?

They actually don’t deliver which is very misleading as the information says that it does

Frank’s is an all around good pizza place. This is coming from a guy who prefers thick crust. What they lack in crust (for me!) they make up for with cheese and fresh toppings. The sauce is very good and items are made fresh upon request. I have been here a handful of times and tried sandwiches and wings in addition to pizza. It is all pretty good. Sometimes service can leave more to be desired but the food is not bad.

Frank’s pizza joint is awesome! I came here and grabbed two slices of pizza. I loved how the owner has his four young daughters working with him. It’s a nice family business with great food and service. I highly recommend this place to everyone!

The people that work here are so nice. I met a man named Jose who is the owners dad I believe and he was so nice he helped me take my stuff to my car. This place is great. it had a lot of tables for people and a nice bar. I had some pasta which I really enjoyed. The fact that they were so nice and everything went smooth is definitely going to make me come back!

These bad reviews are crazy. The pizza is dope. The best in RSD for sure. I wish they delivered! I subtract one star because they do mess up our order quite often.

Our new go to place for NY style pizza. We usually get several larges for parties, as they feed a ton.

My parents had been telling me about this place but I kept putting it off until finally a couple weeks ago I went. I’ve been 4 times since lol Best slice of pizza in the area! Place has a really cool intimate vibe inside too. You gotta try it out.

The pizza is actually pretty good. I love that you can walk in and order a fresh slice.
Downside…oh, there is a downside. The girls that work there are always rude and the last few times we called in an order they messed it up. Total bummer!!!

This is THE spot for pizza in Spring Valley. Being from the East Coast, I’ve found most pizza in Southern California lacking proper crust. This place is everything that pizza is supposed to be — chewy yet crisp crust, not too sweet sauce, and fresh toppings. If you like NY style pizza, check this place out. The Staten Islander is the best!

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff good food only one complaint. Posters of specials that they don’t honor I guess they haven’t heard of false advertising. If a poster says spaghetti 6.00 then you are obligated to sell it for that price !!! If you no longer wish to honor your ads then take them down. Not a good first impression :(

Third time I ordered takeout and my pizzas weren’t even in the oven when I arrived 30 minutes later for pick up. No sorry, no discount, no offer of a drink or anything while I waited!

I’ve been by Frank’s so many times and finally tonight we got a chance to drop in for a bite to eat. A slice of pizza and salad sounded good and my husband opted for a slice of pizza and wings.
The joint is really small, you walk straight to the back counter to order and you can see the guys in the back making the food. On the left is a small bar with a few chairs. There were a few people dining in but more people coming in to pick up large pizzas for take-​out. We opted for take out as well.
I was really looking forward to trying this place and maybe I approached it with high hopes but it all went down hill. The girl taking our order apparently messed up my husband’s name (which I thought was funny after seeing it written on the bags). MERGEL your order is ready 15 minutes later. For the customer service aspect, it’s common sense to ask how to spell the name or reiterate it back to the customer. Just saying.
When we got home and saw the pizza slices in the individual boxes, they were super greasy, oily, thin, soggy not appealing looking at all. Looks like they took a pinch of cheese and threw it on top of the pepperoni pizza. I had to take a few paper towels to soak up the oil just to try it. I’m disappointed in the pizza. It reminded me of a cafeteria pizza slice or something you’d find at the food court at the mall. The small antipasto salad came with romaine lettuce a few tomatoes, olives, peppers, and diced salami with that pinch of cheese again. The wings came with ranch and 2 carrots and 2 celery sticks. They weren’t that good.
Unfortunately it was a big let down for us.

Frank’s gives you this genuine feeling of being in an East Coast restaurant. Pizza reminds me of the ones right off the streets of New York, its not too thick, and the pizza is just thin enough to get the right combination of bread and goodness. It’s recommended that you try the rosemary fries and philly cheese steak sandwich, that’s my usual order. Rosemary fries is covered seasoning of minced garlic and rosemary, and is nice crisp to the taste.
The little restaurant has a bar, several booths, and tables to the side of the wall. Walls are covered with symbolizing pictures of New York and that old time feeling all generations love. It’s great for all ages.

I ordered the anti pasta salad. What a joke, a few diced up pieces of meat and cheese. A lot of lettuce and not much else. My sister ordered the pizza and loved it. So steer away for this salad

Why is that when you order something to go you must check order placed?!? I would enjoy experience if didn’t have to come home to finding order incomplete.
Do not staple bag until customer has had a chance to check quality of order if not going to make it correctly.
I payed extra for the protein to be added to my salad not for it not to be in order.
Very disappointed and now another restaurant I have to double check my order before leaving establishment.

Frank’s is a great Italian-​American style pizza and sub shop, one that mimics the sub shops that are found on almost every other street corner in the northeast; areas like New York, New Jersey, and Southern New England. They’ve got a tasty variety (yet similar) selection of subs, from Capicola, ham and salami, to salami with ham and Capicola! They also have pizza, pasta, calzones, burgers, salads etc, along with a bar with a surprisingly decent selection of draft and bottled beer and a flat screen TV. The beer selection includes Ballast Point, Kona, Goose Island, and Shock Top, as well as your Budweisers, Millers and Coronas.
The place is pretty nice! I’m not sure if this is a chain or if they just really spent a lot of time decorating this one location. Pictures of New York City are hung all over the brick façade walls. Wooden booth seating is reminiscent of the seating at the sub and pizza joints back home.
It was a toss-​up between the Meatball and The Wiseguy sub. I didn’t feel like making a mess so I went with the latter. The Wiseguy has prosciutto, 2 different kinds of ham, salami and provolone cheese with veggies, hold the onions. I ordered it hot. You’d be crazy not to. It was a picture perfect sub. The outside was crunchy and the inside was fresh, hot and melty. Cold shredded lettuce and tomato was layered on the meat and cheese with oil and vinegar. My buddy got the Ruben and said it was awesome as well. He was teetering on the edge of taking the second half home or having to get wheeled out. He took his chances and wolfed the second half down, but I had mine wrapped in paper to enjoy later.
The waitresses were really nice too, and ours offered me a to-​go cup with a fresh soda. GREAT touch! It’s the little things that are memorable and make for repeat customers. Next time it’s me vs the Meatball Sub!

I ordered a pizza for myself and my colleagues today and it was the most DISGUSTING thing I’ve ever seen or tasted. There was so much oil it took me dozens of napkins to pat it and even that didn’t work.
The oil was soaking through the cardboard box and into the crust.
We could not eat it. Gross.

Oh no~! I guess I didn’t read the fine print as I called up this local pizzeria and order a medium pepperoni half sausage pizza and a side of medium wings.
I have driven past Franks time and time again but never had the opportunity to drop by. Tonight though, tonight I needed some pizza to pair with a 2007 blend I had picked up in Little Italy the night before. So I grabbed my Unilocal app and took flight. My fingers flapping away for the best pizza in the area. As I arrived to Frank’s just as the clock struck the twenty minutes expected wait time I noted that it looked very clean from the outside. Through the window I could see a couple and some families having a good time and eating their meals. As I entered I was shocked to find a dainty and very clean bar to the left and the pick up desk just straight ahead. The staff behind in the visible kitchen working away on others meals as I was greeted at the pick up desk. I know, don’t hate me, but I grabbed it to go. The ambience was noted and I would return simply for that.
As I peeled open the box top it hit me. New. York. Style. Dang. I’m not a fan. I grabbed a few slices hoping for the best and found the toppings of my first slice sliding off into the grease pool below. That’s okay. I eat my toppings last anyways. Im weird like that. I chewed into the crust and was sorely disappointed. No flavor. No character. I grabbed my fork and went after the toppings. The sausage had the slightest hint of heat as the pepperoni was just too over done for my pleasure. The cheese was greasy and not very flavorful either. The sauce stung through each and was the pies saving grace. I continued on with my meal and broke open the tin of wings.
Wings. My kryptonite. As I opened the pack of ten with medium seasoning I was surprised to find healthy cuts of carrots and celery. Thick with crunch. The wings are the type that are hard on the outside, dry on the inside, and covered dripping with more sauce than is truly necessary. I know there are plenty of people that love this style of wing. Just not me.
While I am certainly not the biggest fan of the foods I sampled tonight, what would be a two star rating was saved by the sauce and ambience. I would return to enjoy a cold one with some friends if they were in the area, but unfortunately I don’t see myself coming back for take out again.
