I took my watch in there for repair, never got my warrantee card back. When I called them asked for it all I got was a run around and they were so mean about it. I will never go there again.

Researched engagement rings at Leo Hamel a year and a half ago and provided my contact information at one point. Now he is using that information to robocall me for his political campaign. I don’t even live in his district. Schmuck.

If there’s less than 1 star rating with this location that’s the rate I will give them specially to this lady who looked and appraised my rings. She ask me how much Am I going to sell them in order for her to buy them. Gave the price I was offered to the other jewelry store not realizing she’s asking for both not individually. She quoted the ring less than $ 500 that was offered for both and when I told her that each ring are this much and sarcastically she told me «you lied to me» and not even smiling. I think being in this business you need to have a good customer service and not showing that you’re an _ss. Never will I recommend this place. I’m not surprise the place looks dead to me just saying.

I had ALOT of jewelry to sell and my experience here exceeded my expectations. The lady who helped me was welcoming, informative, and took her time to sort through every piece of jewelry I had. Thank you SO much for taking care of me and being genuine and professional!

This has been a lot easier than I expected. I was thinking I’d be emotional and have a hard time but Analiza made my experience a happy one! I really trust her and I’ll always come back here if I need to.

I came in with Tiffanys bracelets and earrings and was given more than expected especially considering they are sterling silver and not Gold. I also had a necklace and bracelet which was low quality gemstones which they weren’t interested in but totally understandable. Great fast service, I’ll come back.

My first experience with Leo Hamel and I was a little nervous, I cannot lie. But, Anit was fantastic and Leo Hamel everything they promised to be on their commercials. Personal. Kind. Personable. And, they make it so easy! Nice to leave a sensitive transaction feeling totally cared for and sure that I did the best it could with my valuables. Cheers! I will be back!

I have been in twice to see Anit and he was wonderful! Such a great way to get some extra cash which was especially helpful during the holidays. I just received a phone call telling me they received more money than expected for my jewelry and wanted to share a larger portion with me! Talk about honest! Will definitely be back soon!

I had two rings– both 10k white gold, one with black diamonds, neither of which they were interested in buying from me. The website doesn’t say anything about things they DONT buy, unless I just didn’t look hard enough. But I really think they need to have a page on their site that lists things they don’t buy. So ppl don’t waste their time coming in just to get turned away.

I am looking at selling my old engagement ring. I paid a jeweler(not Leo Hammel) to appraise it. I took it to another jeweler(again not Leo Hammel) and he said to ask for half of what the appraised value is(I didn’t tell him the value). So after doing some calling around and some research I called Leo Hammel, they were on my side of town and if anything I would be a step in selling this ring. I met with Anit, he was polite and he pointed me in the direction of how to sell it. However, after meeting with him, I am disenchanted with ever buying a diamond anything ever again. The markup on jewelry is so large, that making an investment in something so big and not getting a fraction of what you paid out of it seems ridiculous to me! So while Leo Hammel specifically didn’t do a bad job, and Anit seemed to know what he was talking about, fine jewelry seems like a a ponzi scheme. It is about being an informed buyer and jewelers take advantage of the consumers.

Took some jewelry in today that I had been carrying around for a couple of years like bad emotional baggage. Anit was upfront, professional and explained why jewelry(gold/diamonds) are valued as they are. He asked key questions with no pressure to convince me to sell… allowing me to make the decision looking at it from several angles. Great experience, no pressure, and left knowing I had made the right decision! Thanks, Anit!

I went to sell an old 10k gold bracelet to Leo Hamel. Seeing all the commercials I thought this would be the best place to go, and get top dollar. Boy was I wrong! Im not dumb enough to take the 1st price Im quoted, but Leo is short changing his customers. I went to another broker, and was offered 35% more for my bracelet. Seller beware!

Had a bunch of old, unwanted jewelry sitting around the house so I decided to see if it was worth anything. I had seen the numerous commercials for Leo Hamel so I stopped at the La Mesa location. Pretty pain free process. Walk in; take a seat if the buyer is busy and wait your turn. The buyer that helped me was Anit Dodhia — really nice guy. He took a look at everything I had and let me know which pieces he was interested in and which he wasn’t. Then he went over why. I was in and out with a check for over $ 1300. Not bad for a bunch of stuff I wasn’t ever going to wear or do anything with. I highly recommend this place.
