Meet the Business Owner

Cindy M.

Business Owner

Maxion was graduated from college in 1972 and spent the next three years in New York City working for an architectural design firm. In 1975, she embarked on an exciting adventure as an artist on an oceanographic expedition to Honduras.

Her first commission, for Summa Corporation, launched Maxion’s design firm in 1976. Summa was owned by the legendary Howard Hughes, who wanted a mural painted at Hughes Executive Airport in Las Vegas. This first project launched the Maxion Design firm. She stayed briefly in Las Vegas, creating murals for the Star Dust and Dunes hotels.

In 1977, with these experiences behind her, Maxion relocated her business. The place was San Francisco, and in the next 16 years, Maxion Design gathered an outstanding group of muralists and interior designers. Together, their innovative artistry has created more than 1000 murals that grace the walls of buildings throughout the San Francisco’s Pacific Telesis Building, F.A.O. Schwartz in New York City, at Hasbro Toys.
