Such great customer service! Went here to get my passport picture taken and I was in and out in 10 minutes with two nice quality pictures for $ 13 (less than the post office!!). Plus they have a cute office pooch, bonus :)

Been here twice and have been greeted by friendly professional folks who I believe are the owners. Great service. Glad to support a family run business.

The best personalized service anybody could ever ask for. Costs a little more than the post office, but worth every penny. This is a small, family run business and they really take care of everybody that goes in there.

They also have all of your mailing supplies and other knick knacks to look at while you wait. They also ship UPS as well! And if you’re in need of a mailbox, you can rent one here too.

I LOVE the people who run this store. Really nice. I’ve shipped lots of packages out of this store. However, the most recent one is the only one I have actually tracked. I’m giving it a not-​so-​great review because my package sat in the store for nearly 24 hours before it was picked up. The receipt for the package also has the time the package was dropped off. Mine was dropped off at 4:30 pm. When I checked the tracking, I found it was picked up/​accepted at 4:17 pm the next day. Not quite 24 hours later. What the heck? I knew it wasn’t going to go out until the next day, but the fact that it was sitting there for a full day is not acceptable.
I’ll continue to use this store, because, again, the people are really nice. However, the next time I ship something, I’ll ask when they expect the package will leave the store. It might mean I walk over to the La Mesa Post Office and see if I can get it out that night.

Wow, talk about some awesome people. I went in there on a Friday after 5 to get my passport renewed. I needed to take a picture, needed stamps, a box for another package and the husband and wife team went out of their way. Talk about a refreshing feeling running into somebody that either likes their job or pretends to like it. Thats what i call impeciable customer service. What a great team.

Came here to get a copy of a house key! The man behind the counter is super nice and good customer service! We met his dog Turbo, super cute! Before you plan to get a copy of a key, check in you will get a free duplication of a key!

Always kind and professional service. I have completely stopped going to the post office, because I would rather give my business to this couple who works very hard to provide extraordinary service and it shows.

Came in recently to have a fax sent. The people are friendly. The price was cheaper than where I normally go. There are a lot of cool things to purchase if you are into trinkets.

I have stopped in here several times to use their services and they are always quick, friendly, and helpful. The price is right too. Unfortunately, one negative comment I have is that I’ve heard Steve (I believe is the owner?) use mild profanity casually in sentences more than once and I found that to be kind of unprofessional and inconsiderate.

I needed to mail an overdue Christmas gift to my brother and I believe it was one of the owners that helped me with my shipping dilemma. He was friendly, professional and very helpful. I will definitely come here again when I need to ship something out. On the way out I also grabbed the free sd city beat they have by the front door which is always nice to peruse through. Thank you again for your help. PS your furry mascot is adorable!

I’ve been coming to the Postal Annex (it’s at the Vons Shopping Center) since we moved to La Mesa last year. Living in San Diego has been a big transition for me, coming from small towns back East where everyone knows everyone else. I can honestly say this business is one of the handful of spots I have stumbled upon way out here in California that make me feel like I’m truly «at home.»
The owners are always happy to attend to your needs and willing to help in any way. They greet customers with a smile, and a warm conversation, and it feels like doing business with a neighbor. It’s obvious they love running their business and appreciate their patrons. I’ve only ever shipped anything from their branch and it’s incredibly nice to know that customer loyalty goes a long way here.
Tonight, I forgot my debit card at home (I live 5 mins away, but they were closing in 5 minutes). I arrived in uniform after work — I barely made it in time to ship everything I needed to send even if I’d had my card on my person. I was going to be on duty the next day, overnight, and wouldn’t be able to visit the store again until Wednesday evening. Knowing my family lives all the way in New England and I was trying to get my holiday presents mailed to them in time, I they packaged my items and put it in a box to go out, allowing me to call in with my credit card # the following day. They also even gave me a packet of stamps because they trust I’ll come back and follow up with payment.
This was such a meaningful gesture to me and entirely in the Christmas spirit, although there’s no snow or frost here in SoCal. Thanks for bringing me a smile every time I mail an item, and going above and beyond to help a busy servicemember get gifts sent to her family (they mentioned this was also their busiest time of the year and they hadn’t stopped working all day). I am grateful!

I am very happy with the service I receive every time I come to this postal annex, the owners are a very sweet couple who really take pride in their business and make you feel like you’ve known them forever. I’ve been here to make copies, to order a stamp for my business, to ship items and fax documents … They do it all and I don’t go anywhere else. I highly recommend it :)

Janelle and Steve are without doubt the finest people I’ve had the pleasure to work with shipping-​wise in my 25 plus years in business (I am in the Classic Film biz and often ship items worth thousands of dollars).
Everybody is your friend when you’re spending money and all goes as planned, but it’s the true measure of an individual and business when something goes amiss that requires attention & correction.
Through no fault of their own, a Federal Express shipment of art was damaged in transit. Janelle stepped-​up immediately, took complete charge of the situation and didn’t let go until everything was made right.
I only wish people like Janelle & Steve were the norm and not the exception, but I’m thankful that they are around! I’ve had to deal with such problems directly in the past and I can assure you it’s not fun and never easy.
Collectively we need to support small businesses such as these — you may occasionally save a buck or two going to a large corporate-​run enterprise but you’ll never get the personal attention and believe me that is worth a whole lot more.

After that jerk owner at La Mesa Mailboxes vanished on all of us (with our box rent money too), I needed a new place to rent a mailbox.
This was just down the road, so I decided to give them a shot. Steve and Janelle are very nice people, and the mailbox rental rates are reasonable.
They also have a wide variety of shipping services, copies, various office supplies, passport photos, etc that I’ve found very convenient from time-​to-​time.
The only downside I can see is they don’t have 24-​hour access to your mailbox, but I’ve learned to adjust to that.
