Was referred to Rob’s when my son’s 67 mercury cougar would not start, and we could not fix. Rob replaced starter and made some minor adjustments, and car is running great, and for a reasonable price!

He is kind, thoughtful and willing to work with you little by little. I won’t bring my car anywhere else! I do not know a lot about cars. What I do know is, when I bring my car to Rob I can relax and feel at ease knowing my vehicle is there. Honest, caring and always take the time to explain things and never feel like they are getting tired of all my questions. It’s nice to have found an auto mechanic that I can fully trust and know that the work done is great. Thank you Rob!!!

Rob is the only one I’ll take my car to. I’ve known him since I was in diapers — he and my grandfather used to run a shop together when I was little. He’s trustworthy which is something I need since I know almost nothing about cars. I recommend him to all of my friends and always have a card in my wallet in case of emergencies.
He’s a great guy who has fair prices and does fantastic work.

My regular oil service mechanic wasn’t available and I needed the work done on my Honda Element SC today. Rob’s Automotive was close, convenient and well-​rated on Unilocal.I called and was told to ‘drop on by’. Within 45 minutes of my arrival I was back on the road. Rob and Hector were fast, friendly and efficient. They checked the tires, fluid levels and more. The cost was comparable to my former mechanic’s price for the same service.

I’m so happy with Rob’s Automotive. I’ve never reviewed anything before, but was so pleased with my visit I came home to write a review right away. Rob is such an honest, genuine person. As a young woman, I always worry I’m going to go into a repair shop and be talked into fixing a bunch of stuff that doesn’t need to be fixed. I never felt this way at Rob’s. I could tell he made an effort to help me out. They have reasonable pricing, and it’s worth every penny! I know I’ll be back again and again. I highly suggest this place.

Couldn’t agree more with the other reviewer (Ima). We’ve been taking our cars there for 3 – 4 years, and he’s always taken great care of us. He’s straightforward, honest, and kind. He has also taken care of some of my graduate students who are on a very tight budget. He knows how to explain things well and let you know what your options are.

Love love love Rob’s Automotive. Our family’s been going to him exclusively for years & he’s always been fair and provided excellent service. Besides the dealers when my car was new, and the occasional oil change at Walmart, I’ve used his shop since I started driving 14 years ago, even when he moved locations from Santee to La Mesa. I recommend everyone I know to Rob when they ask for a shop. He’ll break down prices for you, how he came up with them and give you options as well as let you know what things can wait & what things he can rebuild or temp fix if needed. I’ve always been pleased with the work & prices.
