Salon De Solage

Hoping this review would show up — see below. Rene at Solon de Solage is wonderful and very gifted at what she does. Her prices are comparable if not less than most other solons.
Ask for Rene!!! Rene has been doing my hair for over 15 years. She is more of an artist than a stylist. She is consistent and professional, and definitely keeps up with the latest hair color and style trends. Over the years Rene has highlighted, low lighted, cut, layered, styled, colored my hair, and has done eye brow waxing for me. I was prompted to write a review after all of these years because I truly believe that Rene is deserving of one… If there were more than 5 stars, I would give them to her. She recently did my hair for my wedding, as well as my daughters and several of my family members. In fact, she was amazing at styling my grandma’s hair… who is extremely picky and has very thinning hair. While Rene rents a booth at Solon de Solage, she came to where we had our wedding to do all of our hair. In fact, last year my mom had a stroke and Rene came to my moms house and colored, cut, and styled her hair for her because my mom was still recovering. One of the things I like most about having Rene do my hair, is that she is meticulous about the color and styling. She uses great products and I always leave the solon she rents a booth at feeling like I just had a spa day. I highly recommend Rene for all types of hair from straight, thinning, curly, etc. She is a miracle worker and excellent at what she does! Ask for Rene!!! =)

Amber is the best! Ive been getting my hair done by her for over two years, she’s done my highlights, my extensions, and even hair and make-​up for prom.

Wowzers to the other reviews on here. I can’t speak to the shenanigans they went through, but my stylist Shar’ron works here and she is AMAZINGGGGGGGGG. I’ve been stalking her, uh, I mean following her since she was at the California Hair Design Academy off of University in La Mesa. She has never made my hair anything but fabulous. And as a black girl with natural/​non-​chemically processed hair, I can appreciate and praise that. She always talks me through my hair process, makes recommendations, and sticks to my comfort level. I would recommend her to any of my brown sistas out there (although, not to discriminate; she can hook a Caucasian sista up, too. She handles all hair types)
I will admit mama goes elsewhere to get my nails and brows did, but for hair? I’m going no where here but here to Shar’ron.

AMBER is God’s gift to hair. She can make any brunette a glorgeous blonde bombshell!!! I’ve gone to multiple hair stylist for blonde color and everytime it turns out a little orange. Amber made me a pretty blonde the FIRST time and I love it… And so does everyone else!

I have been going to Amber for over 2 years and she recently moved salons and I will follow her wherever she goes! This was my first time visiting Amber at Salon de Solage, but overall, a very friendly & professional atmosphere.
I have been blonde, now back to brown and I ALWAYS get people complementing my hair. She is great at listening to what you want and I always walk out happy and ready to show off the new do. Her high energy and honesty set her above the rest! She gives me the pros and cons of what I want to do with my hair and is always willing to give me her advice. She always makes sure I am 100% happy before I the salon, and every time I return she makes sure to ask what I liked /​disliked about my hair since the last visit. I love that she asks!!! Some layered haircuts look horrendous when you are in between appointments, but Amber’s cuts always look great. My highlights always look super natural and really make my eyes pop.
I always have a 5 star experience with Amber, and know you would too.

I’ve been to the salon to have my nails done. I had a decent pedicure service, but the next day I had a terrible foot infection. My foot ballooned, I had a fever and had to go to the emergency room. When I called the salon and told what had happened, the salon owner, Olivia, told me that not only I will get a refund for the pedicure, but also they would cover my ER and medication bill. I thought it was very nice of them to offer that (I was just hoping to have my money back for the pedicure that caused me the infection and I have a health insurance). I could not walk unassisted and had a major inconvenience attending school full-​time, all because of the infection caused by that pedicure.
When I came to the salon to bring my medical bill, Jenna told me that Olivia was busy with a client, and that I should call in an hour to schedule my visit. I did call an hour later hoping to talk to Olivia, but in vain. Not only Jenna literally yelled at me on the phone; she didn’t even let me speak a word. Never in my life was I treated like that. I felt being treated like garbage, not even a client. I strongly advise not to go to that place, but to find a better salon with a better customer service and better people. I thought I have to share my experience with this place.

If you care about your hair do not go here. bad customer service from my stylist first of all. She didn’t give me her name and to top it off when she was cutting my bangs she cut them wet. She also never asked how short I wanted them and I look like flippin Spock now. I lied to the stylist because I never want her to touch my hair again. My poor ears are hurting like hell now from her fucking fake nails.
Also I’m twenty when I leave a salon I don’t want hair that looks like it’s from the nineties. I want something trendy and fresh. IT’s a straightening iron not a fucking curler. Don’t flip my bottoms up it’s annoying.

I was going to my sister’s wedding the day before I had my eyebrows waxed and they ruined my eyebrows. I went to see Norma but I guess she had quit and I said I would have the owner wax my eyebrows.
I don’t think she does this much because they were crooked and not semetrical at all. I also had her dye them a little darker because they are totally blond.
She dyed them so dark my husband said I looked like groucho marks!
I told her they were too dark but she said they would lighten after a while. I also told her they were not shaped correctly and she could not understand what I was talking about and proceeded to make them worse. She took way too much off of the middle so they didn’t even start where they should.
after I was home I called and said they were too dark, I was crying at this point because they looked ridiculous and I was in a wedding the next day.
She lightened them but could not fix the shape at all. She is not very skilled and I had to go to Grossmont Center to have them fixed as best they could and pencil in what she took too much of. Beware of this place if you value your brows!!!
