Great sandwiches, they really pile high the Boar Head meats into these made to order sandwiches

Definitely a HUGE fan! This store is great– from sodas to sandwiches, bottles to beer, it’s fully stocked with the good stuff. Please, please make sure to order one their sandwiches from the deli! You will not regret it. My personal favorite is the La Mesa Trolley with honey mustard, add pickles, potato salad, and a couple craft root beers. Try having a bad day after eating this meal– IMPOSSIBLE!

Been to this place many times for the great selection of alcohol, soda and snacks. Every time I have ever been in there I am greeted with smiles and it really feels like the neighborhood stop on the way home. It wasn’t till recently that I finally got a change to try a sandwich. I got some suggestions for a warm sandwich and ordered the BBQ beef sandwich. It was incredible. Meat was tender and tasty, hoagey roll was exactly how you expect. My girlfriend ordered a cold sandwich that was just as good looking and tasting. There is a place down the street that sells foot long sandwich for $ 5. To hell with that crap. Come on down to Severin Deli and get yourself an amazing sandwich with a side of awesome staff.

This is by far one of the CLEANEST liquor stores I’ve ever been to! The store is clean, the deli is clean, the sandwiches are DELICIOUS!!! They use the best meats(boars head) and the freshest ingredients. The sandwiches come with either a little Mac or a little potato salad and they’re both superb. Although the sandwiches are pricey, you can’t beat the quality! They have a wide selection of both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Nathan, the owner, is a very nice guy and I’ve known him for quite a while now, we hang out sometimes and just talk, and he makes every customer feel welcomed as soon as they walk through the door. You won’t find a liquor store with a more friendly cashier/owner than you can here with Nathan!

We started buying sandwich’s here on a whim. My son goes to school across the street and we just stopped in to get a drink. While we were there we decided to get a couple of sandwich’s and have been hooked ever since. My favorite is the Padres on either white or squaw bread. Yum is all that I can say. Not only are the sandwich’s good the service has always been top notch and friendly. I really like supporting small local shops when I can. Even though the deli isn’t really that close to us we still make time to go there when we can.

best sandwiches and made with love! the owner is a super nice guy who makes you feel like family. i will be sad to move away from La Mesa and away from my «jamica mon!» my favorite sandwich. These sandwiches use great ingredients and they are NOT skimpy on toppings. Hard to fit these things in your mouth, in the best way!

Great service and the owner definitely makes you feel well and welcomed there. He’s not just a guy who’s there to make money but he’s a good man who make you feel like he’s a friend.

This review is for the deli which i give it a 4.5 and the only reason I knock it down a half is because they are closed in the evenings. They have great meats which are the Boars head brand. I have had a couple of their different sandiwches but I always go back to the Blackened Turkey because it is that good! They pile the meat and cheeses on, bread and vegetables are always fresh, just really great sandwiches all around! I highly suggest trying a sandwich if you stop for a beer!

This review is for the Deli side of the store, although their alcohol section seems very well stocked. I went here on the reccomendation of a friend. She was right, their sandwiches are huge, fresh, an made to order. I ordered the spicy Severin. The bread was fresh and they use boars head meats which is a big plus! I was not a big fan of the macaroni salad, but to each his own… It was a preference thing, there was nothing wrong with it. The price is good and the sandwches are large enough for two meals(for most people). Im sure there are some that can put away a foot long no problem. I am not one of those people, so I had left overs :) The people were friendly, quiet and not very talkative, but they were not rude. I liked the sign on the tip jar, it showed they had a sense of humor. I would definitely go back when in need of a good deli style sandwhich.

Recently working in La Mesa and looking for a good lunch spot. Went on to Unilocal and found this place. What a nice surprise! Fresh sandwiches, best quality on the meats and cheeses and everything made while you wait. Very clean as well which is always a super plus in my mind. I had the«Charger» which was roast beef(Boar’s Head, of course) with cheddar cheese, lettuce, avocado and onions — as well as mayo. Heavenly! Great piles of fresh lettuce and onions. My friend had a spicy Jamacin sandwich that also looked very good. Service can be a bit slow if they are busy, but worth the wait. And, while you are waiting, check out the amazing selections of root and ginger beers — as well as sodas you’ve never heard of. They had what looked like a good selection of beer and wine too — unfortunately I had to go back to work so couldn’t partake! No seating inside so all sandwiches are for take out. Can’t wait to go back and try something else! Thanks guys for an unexpectedly fabulous lunch.

Absolutely love this place. On my second visit, the girl working behind the counter already had my sandwich order memorized and started making it immediately. All of their ingredients are really high quality, the customer service is great, and the sandwiches are delicious. They’ve also got a great selection of special liquors, beers, and fancy bottled soda! I’ll definitely be back here for another roast beef sandwich, this is one of my favorite spots now.

Really awesome place for sandwiches and drinks! The place is clean and organized. They have great specials like 2 for $ 3 drinks and such. I have gotten the Jerk Turkey sandwich and the Godfather. You can also customize your own sandwich. I’ve never called ahead. I don’t mind waiting 4 or 5 minutes for my sandwich, gives me time to look at some alc or pick up an ice tea with my drink. I’m not necessarily a fan of the complementary macaroni or potato salad, but it’s a small serving anyways. People are really nice and the sandwich sizes are good to split between me and my bf.

This review is particularly for the Deli. Although, they do have an excellent collection of domestic and imported beers. Not to mention the liquor and the vast amounts of wines they carry. The deli right away gets kudos because they use Boars Head products form the meats to the sauces. I ordered the«Mayor» on Rye which included deluxe ham, Ovengold Turkey, American Cheese, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, onions, honey mustard. The sandwich cost $ 7.49( ) Each sandwich comes with either a side of macaroni or potato salad. The sandwich had a very good amount of ham and turkey, but thy forgot to put bacon and avocado on the sandwich.( ) It would of been nice to have them, but the sandwich was really good, so I did not have a cow over that because normally I would of. The meats, including the tomatoes, lettuce, and onions were all very fresh and flavorful. The rye bread was also very good, but what brought the sandwich together was the Boars Head Honey Mustard and the Horse Radish Sauce. Talk about kicking it up a notch! The sweetness of the mustard and the tang and bit of the horse radish sauce was evident in every bit. The sandwich was well put together even with the missing bacon and avocado. The people who recently open this place are very approachable and friendly. They are happy to be in the neighborhood and look forward to providing great sandwiches. I was going to give them 5 stars for the great food, nice deli, pleasant service, and the good prices, but could not overlook the missing ingredients in the«Mayor» Where’s the bacon?
