what can I say about La Mesa Unleashed? Awesome knowledgable employees here, my dog knows he coming and and waiting for a command for a treat. I love that they already know my dogs name when I come through the door. The selection of grain-​free dog food is very important to me since switching my pup over from a generic brand. Nick helped me out and was very smart in breaking down ingredients in each food I was interested in purchasing. Thank you Nick for helping me and my pup out! He’s never looked better, i’m sure feeling better since the food change! Thank you La Mesa Unleashed, & Thank you Nick for all your help!

Walked in to browse and was greeted right away by Josh. He answered all my questions about the dog treats and was super helpful and kind. This is definitely a great place to stop by if you have pets or know someone who has or loves pets.

I come here at least 4 – 5 times a week. Everyone here is amazing. They are so kind, very welcoming & knowledgable. They know my mom and I and our dogs. They are always telling us about all the good deals going on and helping us find a new product to try. I have done a dog training class with my dog & he is so obedient because of the amazing staff and trainers. I love coming here. It’s one of my favorites and my dogs flip out every time we come here because they absolutely love all the staff here. This place never fails me and I appreciate all the hard work these employees put in everyday at work making sure they take care of their customers. Josh is one of my favorite employees along with all the other employees. They never fail to give you great advice and recommend great products.

Just moved to the area and my dogs caught some fleas. Shopped around Unilocal and saw they had good reviews for the self bath. Facility is great and has everything you need: towels, shampoo, conditioner, brushes and a dryer. Being the first time I’ve washed the dogs outside of the home, they were freaked out. Thankfully, they had leashes that connected to the bath. They cleaned up perfectly and staff recommended topical treatment for the fleas. They are now clean, fresh and flea free!

Man! I don’t even know where to start with this place! Everything about it is so awesome. My husband and I just adopted a one year-​old Cairn terrier blend, Toto, a week ago today and we’ve already been in a few times. This is the first dog I’ve been responsible for myself in my whole life. So naturally, I’m kind of nervous about being the best mom I can be for Toto. The staff is top notch; Staci is so patient with me and takes the time to answer all of my questions, and I have so many. They have such a great selection of supplies, food, games, treats, and toys. We already started him (more like us) with training and I have to say, Vince is awesome. In one lesson, Toto knows how to sit, understand his name, and he’s even better on the leash when we go on our long walks. He even comes when he’s called more than he did before. We will be frequenting this place all the time, UNLEASHED LA MESA IS THE BEST!!!

Me & my puppy love this place, the staff is always so friendly & happy to see us (him). Vince, his trainer/​favorite person in the world is great & my little guy has already learned so much. Jax gets so excited as soon as I take him down from the car he can’t wait to go inside the store. The staff is very helpful & knowledgeable and they have a great selection of dog & cat products. I love their free events ie; puppy play time, Monday night raw, doggy (& kittie) art, etc. they also have affordable $ 10 seminars for things like; potty training & loose leash walking. I also take my dogs in regularly just to check their weights on their convenient pet scale. I cannot recommend this Unleashed location enough.

Along with many others on this site I love Unleashed for their do it yourself dog washing facilities. 3 easy access tubs, shampoo, conditioner, scrubbing brush and drying towels for each customer. An adjustable table for drying and my Golden looks amazing. All of this for $ 10. Oh yes and aprons for human use to alleviate mess. The store, although smaller than regular Petco stores had everything we needed.
Friendly knowledgeable staff and convenient locations make this a no brainer. You cannot do it cheaper or easier at home. We will be repeat customers.

This Unleashed is great! I come here often; the staff is very friendly, and I feel like the prices are comparable to Petsmart with the same perks if you’re on their rewards program. I just had my dogs shots there today and the vet staff was very good with my finicky Shiba Inu. I will continue to be a loyal customer.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING is just wonderful about it.
–They have a great variety of pet food/​treats
–They hold pet adoptions pretty often
–They have costume contests at Halloween
–Great toys at great prices
–Self-​service dog wash for $ 10.00
–They truly care about the pets and the people who walk in the door
While they have great products and prices, what I love most about this place is their staff. Everyone is more than welcoming, more than friendly, and so very helpful.
I haven’t come across a staff member here who has lacked in customer service– they’re all just OUTSTANDING.
We’re here at least once a week, whether it’s for the self-​service dog wash, a new chew toy, or just to stop in and say hi. Every time I walk to Vons, my two pups pull towards the pet store and 9 times out of 10, I give in.
Unleashed is awesome, so glad they’re in the neighborhood.

This store is located right next to Vons and is an easy-​in easy-​out. It’s smaller than a Petco. We walked in and were immediately greeted by a gentleman at a centralized service and sales desk. We told him we needed greenies. He grabbed them for us and rang us up right away. It was more like concierge service than a normal shopping experience. We appreciated the speed.
No animals in this store.

Everyone here is very friendly.
My dog had an allergy to his good from Costco so we took that back and the gent with the beard (sorry! forgot your name) helped my fiancée and I the whole time we were there. He knew a lot about the products they sell and was very informative.
Once we pin-​pointed what could have caused my dog’s reaction Beardly Gentleman hooked us up with some free samples of the higher end food for our dog to try. That was awesome.
My fiancée and I will definitely be back.

I have an old cat — she’s 20! And she wasn’t feeling well over Christmas which resulted in her not wanting to eat any flavor of cat food I normally serve her. Her energy level was plummeting and I thought this could be her end. I didn’t want her to die of starvation so I went to unleashed to see if they had some recommendations on cat food to entice her eating again.
Matt was so knowledgable about the food products. He knew which ones customers come back to again and again, which ones were more pâté style for her old teeth to chew, etc. He made a couple recommendations based on flavor profile to entice her seances and I bought 3 cans to start to see if the old lady would want to eat again. Well that was a week ago and she is back to her old self and eating happily! Thanks Matt for your cat food knowledge and helping revive our old lady. She’s loving the new flavors and we are enjoying seeing her flourish in her old years!

I got a guinea pig from one of my co-​workers but he came in a cardboard box, so I immediately had to get him food and shelter. I walked in and was greeted right away, the lady informed me that their hamster/​guinea pig section was small… man, she was not lying. I picked up the one and only water bottle, some food, and the only hamster ball… they had no cages at the time. I was so excited to get home and watch the little furry thing run around in the ball, come to find out, those balls are bad for them. /​sad face
That would have been useful information before I bought the dang thing. Oh well.
Three stars for lack of merchandise resulting in a speedy visit.
