Van(the younger guy) does a nice job on a fade. It’s only $ 10 and he’s done in under 15 minutes. Very solid place for a haircut.

Joseph is the man. Been coming here for years. The man takes him time with even the simplest of cuts. Can’t beat the quality for the price.

I come in here once a week to Joseph. I was looking for a barber in San Diego that can do my hair exactly how I ask and he always does it perfect. I’ve been coming for 5 months now. I come from point loma. A 20 minute drive just to get my hair cut by him! Thanks Joseph!

Good prices. Van is Good, the older guy is OK, watch out for the older woman — She messed up what I wanted, showed me in no mirror at the end to see what it looked like, left hairs all over my face and down my shirt

Everything was fine at this place until last time I came. I really don’t know who cut my hair but it was pretty bad. The dude doesn’t know how to fade your hair — It literally goes from a 1 clipper on the sides to like 2 inches of hair on the top — no gradualness whatsoever. Also, my sideburns are uneven, the left goes down at least an inch longer than the right. On top of everything, he takes a call in the middle of my haircut and is talking for literally 5 minutes. I won’t be coming again unless I absolutely have to.

Great place to get a cut. No frills, just a solid cut at very cheap price.

I’ve been coming here for several years and have been pleased with my haircuts, which I felt were worth $ 8. Van has recently raised his prices to $ 10, a 25 percent increase. That seems a bit steep to me, as you don’t get anything extra for the extra money he is now charging. I mean, this is a place that uses paint brushes to brush the hair off the back of your neck, and doesn’t use a blow-dryer to do a more thorough job. So you invariably leave feeling itchy. I also find it a bit weird that Van often seems to have a television and a radio going at the same time. A bit irritating frankly. So while I had overlooked some of these things before at the lower prices, I now find myself being more critical, which is completely fair if you’re being charged 25 percent more for the same thing. Van and his partner are good barbers, but I am now considering trying other shops, for comparison purposes. Something I wouldn’t have considered before the price increase.

My husband has been coming here for awhile now to get his haircut and the older guy is simply the best! Well worth the wait for him. Great for the price even with the price increase from $ 8 to $ 10. But you should shower right after to get all the little hairs off your face and neck, etc.

I am a caregiver and I brought my 92 year old buddy here! It is definitely and get in-get out kind of place! AC works which is awesome since it’s hot out! It’s clean and orderly, definitely a to-the-point place! We only had one person in front of us, to wait on, and the wait was short. The prices have gone up since he has been going here. It’s $ 10 now for a regular men’s cut.

The old man is very good. Very precise. Takes his time. I like that. Good price for a haircut that’s actually decent.

Don’t ever get a haircut here. I gave them easy instructions: use a four clipper on the sides and remove a half inch from the rest of my hair and clean it up to make it look nice He used to two instead and then started proceeding to use a clipper on top of my head which no barber ever does. and now it looks like crap

This is a bitter sweet review as i have moved to los angeles and need to find another barber as i was going to vans for the last 2 years. I always went during the week in the middle of the day and there was usually one or two people waiting and i never had to wait long. All the barbers did an awesome job and i never had any issues with my cuts. The price is $ 8 which is an awesome deal when you consider the big chains like supercuts charge $ 20 and 75 percent of the stylist are horrible. I will definitely miss getting my hair cut at vans.

Cash only, most mens cuts $ 8 or $ 9, great price for a fabulous cut. Been here 10 times, Van does a great job, the younger barbers dont smile as much, but they all cut great, leaving you looking sharp. Highly recommended.

You have to be very, VERY specific otherwise they will completely mess up. I asked for a centimeter to be cut off the top and they went straight ahead and buzzed off 2 inches. How the hell can someone mess that up? Plus, they sit you very far away from a mirror and if you have bad vision like me you can’t even see what’s going on until it’s done. NEVER going here again.

This place is just what I’ve been looking for! Good haircuts with minimal waiting. And inexpensive. I need haircuts like every 2 – 3 weeks so I can’t go spending $ 20 every time. Here it’s $ 8 for a cut and $ 10 for a skin fade. Nice. And there’s hardly ever a wait. The guys that cut hair here actually pay attention to what they are doing and also to what you ask for. I will be back. In about 2 weeks.

It’s always hard finding a «good barber» to the way you like your hair cut. Well after searching and thanks to Unilocal,I have found a small barber that cuts my hair exactly how I described and for only $ 8!!! I will be coming back time and time again from here on!

After years of overpaying for mediocre to downright horrible haircuts at Sportsclips, my hair has never seen better days! Both Van and his son do a wonderful job with my hair, following my instructions to a T… which makes me a happy customer! It’s a bit far from where I live, and quite the journey from my workplace, but I happily make the trip because they’re worth it! I believe I have found my barber!

Straight up barbershop with a framed picture of a few different hairstyles for men. Nice flat screen to watch while waiting or getting cut. The multiple fish tanks in the back of the shop add a nice serene quality to the place. My hair was massacred at SUPERCUTS up the road and the old man at Van’s fixed it up real nice. Good with the scissors and the clippers. Can’t beat $ 8 a cut. This will be my new spot. Highly recommend.
