Do not take your pets here! Horrible customer service. The vet was short with us and not interested in answering our question. We’ll find a vet that actually treats pets and pet owners well.

This clinic is awesome, good service, good price and they see you right away, the best Vet Clinic around here

I brought my 18 month old dog Jax for a bump on his head. The vet was very nice to us and my Jax. They removed his lump and sent it for analysis. In 4 days I had the results as a cyst and no cancer. The whole procedure including analysis was $ 390. And they take care credit. They were all were very friendly and very affordable. I will continue to take by baby there from now on.

My puppies animal clinic is awesome, whenever I had questions about my dog they had a answer great spirit and very welcoming to new and out of the city customers.

Both my Jinjo and my whisky cats were sick. First time pet parents I didn’t know where to go or what to do.
Decided to come to this pet clinic being that they are close to home.

I don’t know why I never reviewed this place before. These guys are horrible and have no compassion for your animals. I’d give zero stars if I could. They shouldn’t even be in business. I first went to them for my beagle/​Pom mix Sparky many years ago. He was an active happy dog but he started throwing up and wasn’t being himself. This clinic told us he had anemia and so the Dr. got us to buy some bottles of really expensive antibiotics. My dog got worse and died a few days later. It was a horrible experience and none of you should go through the same thing. I was naïve and I didn’t question them. I really believed there was no other way to help my dog. I felt even more guilty about putting him through three more days of pain when I could have put him down. These guys took advantage of us. Maybe my dog could have lived. I’ll never know now.
The dogs that I have now used to have ear mites. Their ears would smell and no matter how much we washed them their ears still smelled horrible! Before I realized my mistake in bringing my pets to this we took them here and they kept saying my dogs didn’t have anything wrong with them but convinced us to buy these eardrops which did absolutely nothing. We took them to another vet to board them for a weekend and they ran some mandatory tests. They found ear mites so they fixed our pups right up and haven’t had that smelly ear problem since. The Animal Clinic is incompetent and only out to get your money. They don’t care about your animals at all and won’t hesitate to milk you of all your money on medicine that does nothing for your animals.

TO EVERYONE WHO IS UnilocalING THIS PLACE. DO NOT COME HERE!!! THEY WILL KILL YOUR ANIMAL! IF THEIR OWN EMPLOYEES ARE NODDING AND AGREEING WITH THE CUSTOMER FOR WHAT THE SO CALL «VET» DID WRONG, IT’S FOR A REASON. THAT SHOULD SAY A LOT.
I brought my sick dog this morning because she was vomiting and had diarrhea. They told me they would put an ivy on her right away (mind you I brought my dog right when they open @ 10am) and to leave her there because she would be ok. I called them an hr later to check on her and nothing was done! They told me they would call me to follow up with me on her progress and they NEVER did. I had to keep calling them to see what was done and how she was doing. At 1pm I called AGAIN to see if they had done anything to her/​put the ivy on her and thats when they told me my dog had passed away =*(** Really??? I had to call over 5xs to see if you were doing your job??? And I had to call to find out my dog was dead! They could of at least had the audacity to call me but they didn’t! My dog was not ready to go. She was there for 3hrs!!! Waiting for help and no one did anything! Afterwards when I spoke with the so call «Vet» he told me she was too sick and I should have taken her to the emergency animal clinic because there was nothing they could have done. So why didn’t you tell me that when I walked in??? Idiot! Why would he still accept her? I could of still had my dog with me but because they did not do their job my dog is now dead. They might not have taken any action with my dog but you better believe I will take action and make sure no other animal suffers like my dog did.

Love this vet! They saved my kitten after he broke his hip. They did the surgery for a lot less than most vets were going to charge. Friendly and caring staff who made sure my cat was very well taken care of. They offer low cost vaccines as well as spay and neuter. We also bring our Lab here and have had great service! The receptionist was very sweet and helpful as well.

This place is awesome! Coming here since 2005 the staff is friendly and prices are reasonable…

I brought my dog here to have him euthanized. I’ve never been happy with Whittier vets, so many times we opted to drive to VCA in Torrance, but our baby was suffering and we didn’t want to prolong his pain. I called several places, but the girl that answered here sounded the most compassionate of all receptionist.
Someone mentioned this place looked like a «third world» clinic and that sounds about right. There is nothing fancy here, but they were respectful and understanding. They waited til we were ready. They didn’t mind that we brought our other dog with us and kids to say goodbye.
As for the procedure, it was one injection only. I know it’s considered more humane to inject a sedative before the final injection, but maybe they didn’t think it was necessary for Guerro (he was unable to move at this point.) They also didn’t use a catheter. A catherter is used when pet owners are present so it’s not «messy», according to receptionist from other office. At first I was worried, but Guerro went peacefully, and we were with him until the end. Many low income pet owners may want to be with their babies til the end, but the cost of a catheter may not allow them to do so. We need more low cost clinics for animals. I don’t care if they look like third world clinics if their hearts are in the right place. R.I.P. Guerro 9.13.14 WE LOVE YOU!

The staff is great and the prices are very reasonable compared to others in the area. Just remember that they don’t take appointments. My normal wait time has been 2.5 hours. Take water and poop bags. There areas with grass in the parking lot.

They misdiagnosed our dog twice to what was ultimately mange. Greggs Veterinarian in La Habra was just as bad. I’m annoyed.

who ever is reading this l Urge You to NEVER Go TO THIS CLINIC ! They gave us Meds that we didn’t need. Please do not Go here ! They Killed my day and my cat !!! this is no joke. MY dog was just Going in for a shot because she had arthritis then the next day she didn’t want to eat and then the fallowing day she was throwing Up every where. 3 Days After the injection we had to put her down! ! THESE PEOPLE DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PET JUST YOUR CASH!!! Then 3 days after we put Our dog down we had to put down our cat! these People are SICK and rude. This place is the worst place to go to take your pet. there is no Coincidence that their are other similar complaints here on Unilocal

Do not take your pets here. We brought our yorkie to this place because she was throwing up and had problems breathing. The vet prescribed her antibiotics said she had a respiratory infection. My beautiful yorkie past away this morning. Do you think they will hold themselves responsible for her death? He’ll no! THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN! IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS DO NOT TAKE THEM THERE!!!

HORRIBLE PLACE! If you value your pets at all you will NOT take them there! VERY VERY DIRTY! They are very rude, do not explain anything and if you ask questions the just look at you stupid! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! !

I have been going there for years. I would say its not the fanciest of places but I appreciate their attitudes. I have had to wait sometimes but never to long. The doctor has seen our dog a few times for the same problem. So now he will give us the necessary medication without having to bring the dog in. Our dog is very old and hates getting in the car, so it is nice they take it all into consideration. They could make more money by charging us an office visit, even one time they didn’t charge us because it was an eye problem which they could not treat and referred us to a specialist. So I’d say its not all about they money or up charges like some vets.

My family has been taking their dogs here for years because it’s cheap, and I feel compelled to review the horrible experiences I’ve witnessed. According to another local vet office this one is not licensed to do anything except vaccinations! This makes sense since the last time I was there I discovered an anesthetized dog being operated on a counter top (!!!) — that’s right, cupboards above him, sink next to him, shoddy screen door flapping in the wind right next to the vet. All of this was completely visible from the waiting area — and no less than 5 people in regular clothing walked right next to this passed out dog during the surgery — completely unsanitary! Since they’re not licensed for surgeries they can’t make proper accommodations that would tip off inspectors, so this is what customers can expect for their pooches and kitties. The prices may be cheap, but the after care that results from infection, bacteria, and their hack job knife skills makes paying a little extra somewhere else totally worth it.
When the family dog was spayed here, the scar that resulted was horrifying, but it was our first female dog and we had nothing to compare it to. In retrospect, a toddler could have spayed our dog. Flash forward several years, and we required some blood work to figure out why she was so lethargic after she had been sedated the week before for an ear infection. The results prompted the vet to prescribe 2 meds related to old age. When a rash developed several days later we called again and they said bring her in… contrary to their demands, we took her somewhere else. The new vet enlightened us to the illegal practices of this place and shook his head in shame for them when examining her. He discovered a severe infection related to foxtails in her ears (which is what she had been sedated for at the other place 2 weeks prior! Obviously we wasted our money on that treatment), and noted that the blood work indicated we had a dead dog on our hands, which clearly wasn’t the case (that’s how inaccurate their readings were). So the two new prescriptions were useless; just a ploy to charge more money.
This place has been shut down many times, and not without reason. Use your best judgment before submitting your pets to this clinic. These people have absolutely no idea what they are doing.

THANK YOU Animal Clinic of La Mirada!!! I had taken my dog Pee Wee to a different vet, they told me my dog had a week to live. My friends told me to get a second opinion. I took him to Animal Clinic of La Mirada and they saved his life. When another vet wouldn’t take the time to save my dogs life, this vet gave me my dog back.
We’re forever grateful. (Now if they can only do something about his Pot Belly. guess he’s not taking his 2^nd chance for granted!) :)
Although we may be biased, here’s a review — this is a small family run clinic, but the people there are really nice and love pets. the receptionist and doctors are awesome, and super knowledgeable. The surgeries and immunizations are pretty cheap compared to most other vets we’ve been to. Although its nothing glamorous, this clinic is definitely first class in its treatment of your loved one.
