Food — Love the lettuce wraps. Very flavorful. Not sure about everything else on the menu as I only get the lettuce wraps. Service — friendly and helpful but found that once food us delivered they tend to go missing. TIP — waiter found out we were going to a show at La Mirada Theater and gave us a discount. It was a nice surprise.

Average food, was very salty. Soup was extremely salty but the server was very friendly. Wouldn’t come back. Wasn’t feeling the food or the taste…

Love elephant bar. This location is better than some reviews suggest. Decent food, service can be slow sometimes but usually not bad. I’d certainly come back again. Staff are polite and prices reasonable.

The chopped steak is to die for. The wait staff is marvelous. Highly recommended. The steak was juicy, the sauce outstanding. There are grilled pickled onions that add a deep note to the flavor. The mashed potatoes exceptional. I can’t wait to try the other things on the menu.

Last night my wife and I were on the road seeking a restaurant with at least some vegetarian options. Our expectations were low and we just wanted a simple evening to unwind from a long week. What better way to end it with a service that lies to you. Their menu doesn’t have much for vegetarians. One salad that is prepared for vegetarians and the remaining salads with chicken, fish etc. They have a vegetarian burger and a few appetizers as options. My wife ordered the more friendly vegetarian salad and I the Cobb. Telling the waiter no chicken, no bacon, no meat. A fairly simple request one would think. Well my food arrived with a nice large piece of chicken breast. Guess the Servers don’t check their tickets too well. I had them return the dish. I’m no stranger to mistakes like these and wouldn’t be too upset. However I should of remember my old rule. When there’s one mistake, there’s probably a second. The Floor Manager arrived and apologized for the error. She comped the appetizer for compensation for her staff mistake. Moving forward the Waiter returned with my order and said«this is a fresh salad». Now if I’m told it’s a fresh salad. That means it’s completely new salad. Well it was wasn’t. Half way eating into the salad there was a slice of chicken buried underneath. It was the length and width of my thumb. Walked over to the Floor Manager with the dish in hand. I was upset and told the manager her staff told me it was«a fresh salad». This simply wasn’t an oversight, instead they lied to me. The Chef just took the chicken off the dish and threw it out to the Server. A very tacky solution for a sit down restaurant. The Floor Manager took the salad off the bill. Rarely do I ever get upset about mistakes like these. But a service I’m paying for lies to me, really gets under my skin. You can have the most polite and sincere staff but means nothing if your culture practices dishonesty. Lying to your customer and incompetence scars the reputation of a chain. A dining experience and meal ruined. Do not recommend if you are a vegetarian or want the truth with your meal.

Never really have a wait and the service is usually good. The jambalaya is excellent! My wife likes to try different things and has found some gems as well. The happy hour is also worth coming to. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that he service can be spotty but for the most part it is good. We come here at least 2 – 3 times a year and never complain about the food or drinks.

I always pass by this when I exit the 5 and when timed perfectly, I pull in for the late night happy hour. The happy hour is offered both in the bar and restaurant so it doesn’t matter where you sit. They have a great special on a burger and beer that seems popular with the people I go with sometimes. You can also substitute a non alcoholic beverage if beer isn’t your thing but there isn’t a price adjustment for it. I personally haven’t had the special though because I feel a burger is too heavy late at night. I usually get the lettuce wraps since everything on the appetizer menu, except for the platters, are on special. The drinks are really good, I usually for for a mai tai. On occasion I get a long island. Realistically, you can’t go wrong with any of their alcoholic drinks.

Service sucks!!! The host was nice so kudos to her. There was NO wait time so we got sat down immediately. We sat and waited about 20MINUTES and the waitress did not acknowledge us or even come by to ask us for drinks! After an additional 5 minutes of waiting I decided to stand up and head out and that’s when our waitress noticed us. She came over but it was too late. Idk if they’ll get a second chance!

Love this location! Went there about a week ago for my dad’s birthday, wasn’t busy at all so we were seated immediately. Right away our waiter took our drink order and recommended some of his favorites. I used to come here pretty often when I was younger with my family but I don’t remember the food ever being too great… this was not the case when I went last week. The food was amazing! I was very surprised and pleased! So much so that we even went back a few days later for dinner again and even then it was amazing! I’ll definitely be coming back again soon!

3÷12÷2016 «TWOSTAR» review. Let me first start off by saying that I do not want a phone call nor do I want to be contact by Elephant Bar. I simply want to say my piece. We waited 5 minutes to be sat when the restaurant is EMPTY. We wait 10 plus minutes to be greeted at the table for drinks and starters. Another 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive. We order food and I am not even kidding when I say more then 30 minutes for the food to arrive. This is outrageous, I mean the restaurant is EMPTY!!! Service was friendly and tasted good. But over an hour for food to get to the table. No happy campers here.

Is a ok rest/bar, prices are not that high for food, but menu is really limited, any cocktails be prepared to pay $ 9 and they are not excelent, it took around 25 minutes to get our food, but appetizers came out like in 10 minutes … Other than décor of the place service is average, food has good taste and drinks are ok but pricy… this is a good place only if you are nowhere near a restaurant and really need to grab a bite

I went in on Monday night with my family, I have been coming to e bar for years(Downey location) . I always pass this location on my way to business meetings in Orange County. I think I found my new favorite location, the food was great, drinks were never empty, great bar recommendations from server. It was very busy with low staff(which seemed kinda odd) but our server accommodated us as if the room was empty, as he did to every table in our vicinity. I believe his name was Marco(which my kids and wife confirmed). Next time I’m in I will definitely request his area. Did I mention the food was great !!! A++ FOOD and SERVICE !!

Yet another place I’ve driven by for years and never went into… until Friday night(12.11.15) when my husband’s job had a Christmas party in the back room. I wish we would have gotten our waitresses name because seriously, she was great. A total of 22 people and she kept everything running smooth and didn’t skip a beat, outstanding customer service to her(she worked the back room with the giraffe painted curved wall for a party of 22 people for a Christmas party Friday between 730 and closing) From the service to the food and drinks, everything was outstanding. I haven’t had steak that good in a very long time and I’ll be honest, I was NOT expecting it from here.

Came here for a busniess lunch and it’s been awhile since I have eaten at Elephant Bar. Menu are huge and provides a calorie count for you healthy eaters. Decided to try the: CHIMICHURRIGARDENBURGER Gardenburger · charred red onions · lettuce · tomatoes · onion straws · chimichurri sauce · choice of one side which I had the onion rings. The burger was actually really good, you don’t feel nasty and bloated after. You know you weren’t eating meat but was good. I didn’t mind it and felt pretty good after having it. The onion rings were a tad too oily for me, really hard to eat so I just ate the inside of it. Service was good and very attentive, very clean and spacious location.

I’ve been to this location only 3 times and each time it was for a large party… and I mean party! One was a graduation party(there was about 40 people), one was for a pre-class reunion party(probably 50 people) and the other was for a birthday party(25 or so attended). This place grabbed each party by the horns and nailed it! Whether it was just for cocktails, appetizers or specially ordered dinners; there was never an issue, smooth service and happy customers. Starters: May I recommend the Zesty Artichoke Dip. Just like the traditional with artichoke and spinach only made with a little kick of pepper jack instead. Perfect for 2. Or how about the Parmesan Crusted Green Beans… that sweet chili sauce that they serve it with is great! Main Dishes: Triple Smoked Burger with bacon, jack cheese and avocado was heaven. I believe it was served on a brioche bun(if not, it was just as soft and yummy). One of the best gourmet burgers I’d had in a long time. Tri-tip was a hit with everyone at my table, cooked to order and every one of them was perfect! Chicken and Shrimp Alfredo was also a hit. Cocktails: Plenty of beer(tap or bottle) and wine, well drinks(make a perfect Malibu and Diet). Elephant Bar is basically«bar food» only a few notches above making it wonderfully delicious. It doesn’t seem like they specialize in anything in particular, but they seem to take pride in what they make. In this particular location, all 3 of the parties were held on the outside patio area. Great location and plenty of room! The only downside is that if you are sitting in the lower part of the patio(closest to the freeway) you can REALLY hear the freeway pretty loud. Didn’t stop any of the parties, just talked louder is all. EB was completely accommodating to each party and service was wonderful each and every time. Thumbs up for a great location to hold a large group! CHEERS!

No, I do not like your new menu. No there is not much on it that I want to eat. But I had some kids eat free coupons and we were in a hotel down the street. The food took a little while to come out but our server Steve made us aware of the situation so we at least knew the situation. My daughter ordered the fish and chips and they were really good. My Shrimp and Parmesan Chicken Linguini wasn’t that bad. There was a lot of pasta in the dish. We didn’t have a fridge at the hotel so I just left it and ate the meat. My son’s chicken tenders were way overdone so we just picked off the crust. Service here was really great. Steve was awesome! Both my husband and I were servers and were pleasantly surprised that he would remember all of our requests. I would definitely come back to this particular restaurant even though there are two others closer to me.

I only went to this Elephant Bar(EB) location once for a group lunch to celebrate someone’s birthday, but it was relatively pleasant experience. That was a few years ago and I’m pretty sure the menu has changed since then, but I remember liking the salad that I got and would make another trip to EB to see what else they have to offer. We had a pretty big group – around 10 or so – but we were seated pretty quickly at a long table to accommodate everyone. It was a Sunday for a later lunch, but service was pretty quick, and though the eatery had customers, it wasn’t as busy as it could have been. Here’s what I got during this visit, as well as items I want to try in the future: «Market Cobb Salad»: This is the salad I ordered during my first and only visit to EB. It consisted of grilled rosemary chicken breast, hickory-smoked bacon, eggs, mixed greens, crumbled gorgonzola and my choice of dressing. I’m pretty sure I went with blue cheese dressing – I absolutely love blue cheese – and I customized my salad by ordering it without avocado, tomatoes or mushrooms. I liked the grilled chicken – there was a sufficient amount on there, as well as the bacon crumbles. If I had my way, I would have preferred plain Romaine lettuce instead of mixed greens, but I liked this salad overall and was glad that I tried it. It tasted fresh and the crumbled gorgonzola – don’t often get to experience gorgonzola – was probably the highlight of the entrée for me. «Zesty Artichoke Dip»: Spinach-artichoke dip has to be one of my favorite apps. The EB version features artichoke hearts, spinach, Pepper Jack cheese and corn tortilla chips. This seems like a pretty standard medley, and I look forward to trying this dip because it’s sure to have a slight kick from that Pepper Jack cheese. «Cookie Ele Mode»: This is a cute name for a dessert! This sounds like it’s right up my alley, since it features a freshly baked cookie topped with vanilla ice cream. You get your choice of chocolate chunk with hot fudge or macadamia white chocolate with caramel hot fudge or half of each. Since I’m a chocoholic, I would probably go for the chocolate chunk with hot fudge, but if I want to try a little bit of both, I would order the hybrid version. Either way, as long as the cookie is warm, chewy and moist – and the ice cream isn’t super melted by the time the dessert gets to me – I’m sure to be a happy camper. «Ice Cream Mud Pie»: This dessert is intended to be shared between two people, but let’s be real — I could probably down the entire thing myself because I have such a huge sweet tooth. It features a large slice of mocha ice cream on cookie crumb crust and is topped with chocolate fudge icing and whipped cream. I would order my mud pie sans the whipped cream so I can readily taste and enjoy all the other components. I don’t order mocha flavored ice cream very often, but I’m sure to enjoy that coffee taste, especially because it comes on top of a cookie crumb crust(the best type of crust). And, of course, my inner chocoholic already loves the fact that this mud pie is topped with chocolate fudge icing. «Parmesan Chicken and Shrimp»: If I were looking for a heartier dinner entrée, this is probably the one I would go with. It comprises Parmesan-crusted chicken, Tuscan-style shrimp, linguini, marinara and garlic bread. I would ask for light marinara sauce – I prefer cream sauces over tomato/meat sauces – but I’m interested in trying the Parmesan chicken and the(hopefully large and juicy) shrimp. Linguini is also one of my favorite forms of pasta, and it’s a bonus in my eyes that this meal comes with garlic bread. «Pub Burger»: This burger features some of my favorite components, so I’ll have to try it at some point. It includes a charbroiled beef patty topped with hickory-smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, a beer-battered onion ring and cheddar cheese. I would get my burger sans the tomato and pickles, but everything else sounds like it’s good to go … and I especially look forward to enjoying that crunchy, beer-battered onion ring in the midst of my juicy burger.

Elephant Bar is just ok. I want to say that their food has a touch of Asian flare(including Thai, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, etc). This location is just off the 5 fwy and near the mall. Parking is available in a private lot, and restrooms are available. Just like other locations, décor is nice and lighting is pretty dim. I like that they are constantly adding new items to their menu. I got sick of getting jambalaya or their salmon dishes all the time. Their food almost always has a hint of sweetness. They love their teriyaki sauce, mango, and other ingredients to make their food taste sweet. It’s worth it to go during lunch because portion sizes are still large. Their prices in general are just ok. not super high but not amazing deals either. What not to order: tempura salmon rolls. They added carrots, which imo made the whole thing gross. They should have used cucumber or avocado. They have a rewards program(similar to BJs) where you collect points for your purchases. Right now, if you register, you get a free appetizer. You can download the app for convenience.
