Splash! La Mirada Regional Aquatics Center

Okay aquatic center with not some of the funnest water slides. I’d much rather go to a fun waterpark, like in Disney World.

My review is mostly for the management, which might also be for the City of La Mirada. I won’t go into details, but we had an issue with our passes and they resolved it in a manner that exceeded my expectations. They were professional, reasonable, and generous with us.
We love the pool itself; the kids love B. Bay. It gets crowded but nothing unreasonable.

I actually love this pool. We love it so much that my husband and I paid for monthly lap swim passes.
It isn’t the pool or the staff I have issues with that made me leave a one star review today.
We went to the pool today before the end of lap swim, got there before 11am. It’s two to a lane. My husband and I are two people. We took the far end lane.
The issue is that some lap swimmers are massive bullies who think they deserve to be in the pool more than me. A guy straight bullies into our lane by making a comment about us seeming like we are at the beach. He waves is aside and takes our lane. I try to wave at him under the water and he flips and splashed me in the face.
Note: I’ve had three surgeries in the last year. I am not capable of doing hardcore lap swimming. We move slowly. We walk in the water. We hold onto the end and kick. We tread water in the deep end.
That’s all we can do, right now.
I have huge scars all over my leg. I limp. Its obvious I am kinda disabled, here!
But Mr Master swimmer felt that he deserved the pool more than me today.
Advice: either the swim center needs to have the end lane prioritized for disabled patrons… Or they need to penalize lap swimmers who bully disabled swimmers out of the pool.
What that man just did was basically like shoving someone on crutches or in a wheelchair at the track because he felt he deserved to be there more because he can run!
The supervisor on duty totally came over and talked to us. He asked what happened (wanted our side of the story). But he also said that he couldn’t do anything until the guy was out of the pool.
Okay. Fine. So we literally can’t do anything but LEAVE. Great. Wasted time. Wasted gas. Didn’t get to finish my physical therapy for the day. Great!
Hopefully they let the guy know that wasn’t okay.
But hopefully they also figure out how to better accomidate paying customers with different ability levels.
I’ve never been bullied out of a pool in my life!

First impressions mean everything. Front desk girls get an F for first impressions. Not friendly. No smiles. This is our very first time here! With that being said the instructor giving my granddaughter her very boat swim lesson was super friendly. Management needs to evaluate the front desk for sure.

Best place for kid swim lessons! The water is warm, the teachers are great (amazing with kids) we have had Mrs. Caitlyn and our little loves her! After 4 lessons, she’s jumping in, putting her head under water, pushing off and starting the beginning of swim! Good prices and just an all around safe, clean and great place for your toddler to learn how to swim!

I lap swim multiple times at LM Splash. The staff is friendly and courteous and the price is reasonable for a great workout that doesn’t stress my old joints! My one complaint, it could be a little cleaner. Specifically the trash cans could use a good cleaning and the women’s showers could be pressure washed. They can get nasty. I realize you are dealing with a lot of younger folks (and irresponsible older ones for that matter). But it could use some cleaning detail. There has been a tampon in the bushes for weeks. That is the ground crews responsibility. The pool is usually pretty clean and clear.
Again for all of the people that use the pool it is well maintained.
The women’s dressing rooms only has one electrical outlet working. All the rest are not functional. And one wall hook was broken & not replaced over two weeks ago.

i recommend this water park to everyone the staff was awesome i was able to trust my nieces and nephew to play in the kids part by themselves life guards rock i think i love this water park more then soak city… i have no complaints about this park food seating etc etc loved it…

Every location starts with 5 stars, they lose stars as they mess up.
I will never do a birthday party at this location or recommend it. Very unorganized, unprofessional, poor customer service. If I can give negative stars I would.
A friend organized her 3 year old’s party at this location. She paid for a birthday party. Got to the location, found parking up front — stay at 5 stars.
There was a long line infront. It took us half an hour to get up front. Found out birthday parties don’t need to line up. Zero signs stating this — minus 1 star.
Our friend meets us, we get bands and she orders food. Her contact said he will bring the food at 2:30 to the room they gave her — seems like a good deal, stay at 4 stars
After chatting with her, we found out that by having a party there she should have received a complimentary spot for the group, but the guy (Andrew I think) said people came and offered to pay for the spot so she got bumped. They put her and the group in the room up front but it was open to anyone. — minus 1 star.
At 2:15 my friends checks in at the front desk regarding food. They told her 5 mins. She kept checking and was told 5 mins each time. 2:45, no food, no one checks in — minus 1 star
The child’s grandmother has another event and need to leave. The mom, gmother and I go to the front desk, hungry and upset, the gmother asks for her money back. We ask about the food again. This time Chelsea said she will call her supervisor. Somehow pizza, drinks and plates arrive in the room now, but not the rest of the food. Apparently, they give you vouchers for burgers etc and you have to line up and get it yourself. No one mentioned this, it’s now 3:00 and we are barely getting vouchers. At this time, the gmother is pissed. She asks for a full refund. Chelsea says hold on, she goes to the back, comes back out and said it was approved. — plus one star
Chelsea then immediately says I have to cut out your bands and just starts snipping bands, including the few kids in the group. She was very rude. — minus 2 stars. I have never seen such poor customer service ever… and I’m from a supposedly third world country!
So all this time, the guests did not touch the one and a half pizza and drinks, even though they were hungry. Yes, Caribbean people are very polite in this way. After rude Chelsea snipped even the kids bands, we told the group to make sure the kids eat and we’ll just cut the cake we brought and leave… adults ate chips they brought which should have gone with the food. Mind you, we gave them back the food vouchers that came late.
So we had to request that they bring the cake in a few times. — minus one star (shoots, Unilocal does not let you give 0 stars).
Finally they bring our cake… with a side of attitude ft rom Chelsea of course… but no plates or forks. I have yet to meet this supervisor.
I ask again, stating that we have a 3 yr old with a bday we just want to cut or cake and be on our way. Finally an indian/​mex guy (not sure of race), didn’t get his name says no problem. Back to one star.
I felt like calling the fire department because I know they were over max capacity in there, but decided against it.
All in all, an experience I would not wish on my worst enemy.

I was recommended by a co-​worker to try Splash instead of Raging Waters for Baby C, and it turned out to be a great suggestion. I don’t hand out 5-​star reviews like candy, but there is so much to like about this place.
The lazy river was definitely Baby C’s favorite. It’s pretty long and has a couple of cool off spots where you can get splashed from overhead. The last part is actually the most interesting, since it’s like a game of dodge-​the-​tipping-​buckets. The kid’s area has a play structure with a pirate theme and one person monitoring the bottom of the slide (rather than the top of the slide), which makes so much more sense to me. The other thing that I liked about the pools is that the edges are flat, instead of that raised concrete lip you see pretty much everywhere else. It’s so much safer so that kids don’t hit their heads.
The food at Splash is reasonably priced & they have a system that’s so clever, I can’t believe more places don’t do it. When you purchase a burger or a hot dog, they give you a bun, lettuce & tomato at the window, relay your order to a person at the grill, and then you go to his station. He then gives you the burger or hot dog, right off the grill. You know that you’re getting fresh food, instead of something wrapped in foil and have no idea how long ago it was made. What a great idea.
The lockers are $ 5 and they are cleverly placed inside the bathrooms if only 1 or 2 people need access, or outside the bathrooms if everyone needs access. You just touch your wristband to a sensor. If you imagine the reusable bags that are sold at Trader Joe’s, I’d say that the lockers can hold probably 2 bags that size plus a little more, so I found them plenty big.
A great facility with good food and it ended up being cheaper than Raging Waters by about 50%. Can the city of La Mirada please show the rest of the world how to run a water park?

Wow! Where have this place been the whole summer. I just found out about splash and i must say I love it! Its something here for every age to like. Splash has big slides, small slides food and beverage that everyone can enjoy. The prices are great and the lines aren’t long. This is an enjoyable place, the park even offer bday party packages, free life vest for the smaller kids and tubes. Wow what a great place!

Ah summer time. Chances are, you’ll hit the beach, the pool, or have BBQ at least once. For us, we ended up here because one of our family friends had a birthday party here. The party was set for 11am and let me tell you, that’s really late for Splash standards.
Why? Because like most pool places, the good seats will be taken. Actually, all the seats will be taken and they seem to over sell their tickets here. It was crazy crowded. I’m sure it doesn’t help it was still summertime when we were here and some kids don’t have school yet. The good thing is around the sides, you can put your towels on the grass and find some shade if you’re lucky.
For us, since we were with the birthday party, we had a covered tent. There were different versions. I wish they would let you know where you are supposed to go since this was our first time here.
So besides it being oversold (BTW costs for admission for us with the birthday party was $ 14 each person). The pizza that comes with the birthday package was actually quite good. You can tell the dough was premade but it was hot and crunchy. It did also come with chips and sodas. I did see someone selling cold fruit as well walking around and they have crunchy shave ice here too.
As for the park here itself, the lazy river is kind of fun. People do share their tubes if you wait long enough. The course with the dump buckets are kind of fun but don’t lose your shades because it will happen! There are a lot of older kids here that aren’t aware of the smaller kids so make sure you walk with them. There is a adults only hot tub that’s secluded too. Most of the time, we were in the center of the roundish water area where kids can play, sit, and get some relief from the heat.
I do like this place don’t get me wrong but some things could be better. I do notice there are a LOT of bees that fly around here. I understand there will be some but it seems to be more than usual. I also see a lot of bees by the bathrooms and the food area (shave ice) too that are really dirty. It’s about 3.5 stars for the cost/​fun/​clean factor. It would be much better if they capped the number and clean the area more.

Love Splash! It was a perfect way to beat the heat. My Mom and I took my 2 year old son and we all enjoyed it. It was clean, safe, and most of all fun for every age. We did get there around 1030, to avoid the crowd and avoid the afternoon heat. Around 2P is when it gets packed! We did have lunch here, wasn’t too terrible but can be pricey.
We will definitely be back.
The only reason I didn’t get 5 stars is because of those dumb inner tubes on the lazy river. Kids are so irresponsible and have no space awareness. At one point, my Mom was pushed against the wall because of said inner tubes.

I was really impressed with how well done this place was, considering it is run by the City of La Mirada rather than a commercial entity. Overall it is a pretty good value for the price. However, it would be better if they had pricing based on age. The admission price is based on height, so even our 6 year old had to pay an adult price. The food is reasonably priced as well.
The park was crowded but not terribly so. We got there about 45 minutes after it opened, and although we couldn’t find pool chairs or a shaded table, we found some space on the perimeter lawn with shade from a tree. Parking at that time was pretty easy to get. Lines for the water slides were not too bad. The blue slide has the shortest line. The lazy river is a bit overcrowded with not enough tubes. The kiddie play area is crowded but that is to be expected. Overall the park is really clean and well maintained. They have pay lockers near the entrance for $ 5.
I am told season passes can be purchased before the season starts at a substantial discount. I will look into this, as we plan to be back.

First timer here yesterday. I took my 2 year old & I have to say we enjoyed our time. This is a good place for family & kids. Purchased 2 regular daily admissions w/​locker for $ 42 my 2 year old was free (; Also thinking of buying the season pass since I will totally be coming back!

Parking: it’s very easy to find parking even if it’s crowded inside.
Pricing: I’m not sure how much the daily admission is, since my kids and I are season pass holder. I pay 57 or 59 (i could be off by another 10 bucks), I bought mine at a discounted price months before they open this season.
Food: I never purchased anything there, except for asking for a cup of ice. They serve mainly fat food such as hamburger, hot dogs, fries, pizza, chips, funnel cakes, soda, and shaved ice. They do have fruit bowl, but it is over price at about 5 bucks I believe. Oh they have bottled water too. Like most amusement park, they rarely serve healthy food for that’s what the general public and children wants. Not everybody care about their health. FYI I do understand I’m not supposed to sneak food in, but hey I do bring in my healthy protein bar inside (and yes I do see people with bags of chips and cookies, no one said a single thing, can they do that, absolutely not, can I bring in protein bar, absolutely not, just that they have such a bad selection of food I have to bring my protein bar in)
Restroom: well, it’s clean early on in the morning, but toward the middle and end of the day, the floor is wet and black. Very disgusting. Though they did a very good job, on mopping it periodically and keeping it clean (not dry as much as possible)
Kids Play area: LOVE IT… I have not gone on the slide, but according to my older one, he loves it a lot. Whenever he’s there, he spends most of his time on the lazy river and the slides. And he can spend there for hours. My younger one love the area next to the party canopy and also the main kids area. I can just spend my entire day reading book or on my cell phone and don’t have to worry about my children, they have well trained life guards there everywhere, you can see at least 3 from where you are. Not sure if there’s ever been any accident there, but I highly doubted it, since the place itself is so safe. Though I do go and look for them every 20 mins or so.
Swimsuite: OK. isn’t this obvious, wear swim suites, I often see people wearing workout clothes, tank top with build in bra are not swim suites and tight workout pants are not swim suites. I’ve seen people wearing only a bra and a tank top, please I almost need to wash my eyes after seeing those. I don’t care what size you are, as far as I concern, no one should care, they are all there to have fun, no one judge, but please wear your swim suites.
The only thing my son seems to complain consistently, is that there sometimes kids that try to snatch his floaty or if he was on those doubles (while the sister is away for a short time and not sharing with him), someone will try to get on. Few times he got bully, and someone snatched his floaty (single or double) away or try to sit on his sister’s spot (while she wasn’t there), the life guard didn’t do anything AFTER he complained about it. As a parent, I will be upset, for the life guard didn’t do anything, yes they might be just life guard, but hey fighting or arguing or any disagreement inside the pool can be dangerous for themselves and other. I would like to know how they can make this a bit more pleasant.
1 star: lack of nutritional food and drinks AND life guards’ inability to deal with conflicts between children (that’s # thing a teacher needs to do, and as life guard you are sort of like teachers there, you don’t only wear one hat, you are wearing multiple hats). AND not enforcing swim suite policy. AND one thing I didn’t mention above, it is like TUNA CAN, seriously like tuna can, they try to pack so many people in, people will be sitting around on the grass area, is that a safety hazard? They seems to only have few exit, in case of a fire, how people going to exit safely, quickly, in a organized manner? I need them to address these immediately!
Oh and one last thing, this one lady that consistently bring in her blue/​white strip sun umbrella, I thought we are NOT allowed to bring in folding chairs or umbrella of any sorts. One time her umbrella flew away and she wasn’t even there, and it almost hit another person. Did the lifeguard or any of the splash associates said anything, probably not, for if they did, I will not see that umbrella two times while I was there and I only been to splash 6 o 7 times since it got my season pass.

This place is really chill. It’s convenient for kids. I suggest you bring your kids, nephew, niece, or something. Just a fun place to swim and there’s some rides. Nothing too scary for kids. It’s kid friendly rides. There’s also water play stations for babies. You can lowkey sneak in beer & your own food. Their food tasted like it was frozen just heated up. The meals are pretty pricey for some low quality food.

This year we brought our group here again. Everything about the park remains great as I wrote in my original review. This time I had a few issues with the food.
First, for some reason, we did not get a reserved table area as we request every year. Our entire group had to sit and eat on the grass.
Second, we have to take vouchers to a designated area to redeem our orders for hot dogs and burgers. The lines were horribly long and the cooking station was under staffed. The three young guys seemed a bit overwhelmed.
If you are a large group, be prepared to wait a long time under the hot sun waiting for your food. This makes it very difficult and inconvenient for large groups.
They need to go back to the original way of bringing everything, cooked, and to your tables. That is the best way.

The swim lessons and Polo Buddies are awesome! The instructors are top notch. However, parking is sometimes a mess, with no warning, so you might show up for you child’s lesson only to be told you have to park at Biola and shuttle over!!!
Buccaneer Bay offers cheap season passes and it’s a good thing because they pack so many people in there as to make it uncomfortable and not much fun for the kids. They also do not allow outside chairs but there is never enough seating and they seem to have purchased the cheapest, most uncomfortable chairs they could find. One of the only pros is the staff is usually very friendly.

I took my son here once & boy, was it packed! We originally planned on arriving before opening, but decided we’d wait until 1230 to show up. I read in previous reviews that you could spend a couple hours there before you’d be ready to leave, so I didn’t want to get there too early. Besides, by afternoon it’s a lot warmer & I don’t have to worry about my son saying, «I’m cold! I wanna go home now!»
When we arrived there was a longgg line to get in. It barely moved. People were growing impatient. Including myself. After standing there for a few minutes, my husband went to see if we were in the right line. I had purchased a Groupon deal online a few days prior. Apparently, the line we were in was if you still needed to purchase tickets. Once directed to where we needed to go, entrance was quick & painless. Moral of the story: Purchase tickets online ahead of time to avoid the longgg lines that everyone talks about!
So, Buccaneer Bay is ideally for those younger than 10. There are a couple splash pads, lazy river, and a toddler play area. One thing I didn’t like about the lazy river was that there were A LOT of people walking through. They should have a rule where if you don’t have a tube, you can’t be in the lazy river. Defeated the whole purpose of a lazy river with everyone walking through. There was no way you could float through. When I hear lazy river relaxing thoughts come to mind, when in reality It was a mess.

I hosted a group event here for an orientation with my college interns and they loved it. Granted, I talked to them for a good chunk of time before they were able to play, but they still really enjoyed it with the few hours we had to go in the water.
I reserved the group reservation (10+ ppl) 2 weeks in advance like they ask for with half of the money paid for and paid the rest 2 days in advance. Each time I called, they had trouble looking me up in the system. When one of my guests came late, they wouldnt let her in because they couldn’t find her on the list. They kept asking if I sent all my paperwork in and I did it before the deadline. They need to be more organized and efficient. That’s my only complaint.
I also ordered a cabana for $ 65 the whole day which accommodated all 20 of us. They had tables and benches as well. Great deal!
Overall, the event was a great success and I would do the group rate again since they include lunch! The water was refeshing and they’re were a good number of things to do. Can’t complain that you’re not having fun!
