La Palma Physical Therapy

I am not the patient, but my 80 year old grandma is a patient here. She has been getting great results and feeling much better since her first visit. After each visit she brags about how wonderful and friendly the staff is at this facility. She absolutely loves her therapist. They are not only friendly, but very organized and on top of authorizations and scheduling promptly while working with the patients schedule! Thank you all for the wonderful help and kindness you and your staff have given her, so far!

I got discharged last week! Wooohoooooo, babyyyyyyyyyyy! :P
This is truly exciting news for me! I still remember when I had appointments three times a week, then it went down to two, then one, and now?! That’s right, NONE.
I will miss them but really, I’d rather see them over some coffee and dessert instead of through physical therapy. This means I’m getting better :)
Throughout my entire therapy, I only saw Nancy. She was great at really working on all your problem areas. It’s really fun to talk to her and catch up too while she’s working on you. I highly recommend Nancy to anyone as she was definitely a key component to my recovery. That’s not to say the other physical therapists aren’t, I just have never had experience with them.
I’ve met all of the aides and they’re just so helpful and friendly! My favorite of course is Ron because he knows what he’s doing and is always willing to help. Richard and Adam are close seconds as they’re both super nice and fun to work with. Sometimes I feel bad because I’ll be in laying there getting my electrostim and I’ll just see Richard scurrying around trying to tend to everyone. Poor guy.
My sessions lasted an hour and a half on average. 30 – 40 mins of exercise, 20 mins of electrostim, and 20 – 30 mins of deep tissue massage therapy. Sometimes I would feel lazy and not want to do some of the exercises but the aides would motivate me to finish them all. I really feel that the combination of the exercise, electrostim, and massage therapy helped to heal me.
At first, I relied on the sessions a lot. Slowly, I started noticing that with consistent exercise and treatment, I was getting better. I think the icing on the cake for me was when I started doing yoga to help really stretch and strengthen my back. I also consistently worked out throughout my sessions to make sure I kept my back strong.
5 stars — Everyone is super friendly, the hours are broad enough that you can be seen really at any time, and they will help you get to a better you. That’s the most important thing, right? :)

So now all therapists have worked on me; Mariza, Nancy, Mary, Caroline (on-​call therapist) and all the Aides Ron, Richard, Adam, Monique and My. Ive been coming since February with a brief vacay from them in June, now I am back again for what seems like a forever treatment plan. I am not sure who is the strongest. Sometimes they say they are tired, but that doesnt mean they are any less weak. Come to think of it, Nancy is the strongest. It also may be because she knows me well and the other therapists are afraid to hurt me. Little do they know, its okay I can deal with it.
They apply heat/​ice whatever one you need, sometimes both and give you the electric stimulation which feels like an Alien poking you very quickly. After that your on to your exercise plan. The assistants are there to guide you and make sure your doing everything right. I’ve become a real pro at it and usually move everything around myself.
After that is the «massage» Its not a real massage, at least not for me since my muscles are so tight and I have a lot of nerve problems. This is the time where they bend, move, poke, twist (you get the point right) you. Sometimes it hurts sometimes it doesnt hurt. It all depends on your injury and what they need to do. They are good at what they do thats fore sure! They come up with inovative and creative ways to treat your specific injury.
They have great hours, open till 8:00pm some nights. They also offer a low cost fitness program where you can use their equipment for a small monthly fee.
Sometimes I feel like I work here since I know where everything is and from all the hours I’ve been coming there. They sell stuff too if you need it. They have putty, bands, pully’s ect.
Dont forget they cant fix you unless you put in effort at home. Do your exercises over and over again. Its important!!!

The location is kind of small and it can get busy at times. They have great physical therapists that care. Their entire staff is really friendly & the hours are great. Not too many PT places out there that are open till 8pm 3 times/​week
