Terrible experience at this location. My son received a baseball throw and field return trainer for Christmas from his nino. We did not have a chance to open up and use it until now (middle of winter so my son hasn’t had a chance to take it outside and use until a few days ago) it was missing the net (one of the main pieces needed for it to function) and had a double of another piece. When we tried to exchange the item today the «manager» working was extremely rude and kept asking us why we took so long to exchange the item. I repeated that it is the middle of winter and my son has not had a chance to use it (because it’s winter and the whether is extremely cold) and the «manager» kept repeating how strange it is we took so long. I kept repeating that we received the gift for Christmas not when the item was purchased. We went back and forth for a while until she finally gave approval for us to exchange the item in a rude undermining attitude (we wanted to exchange it for the exact same thing, we did not want money back just simply wanted all the pieces needed) all and all, me and my family will never return as a customer here. So rude and uncalled for. The manager could have asked us why we waiting so long in a professional matter and if she would have listened the first time instead of having us repeat it over and over but no. This location needs a new manager asap. Professionalism should be priority but some places don’t see the value of their customers.

Came in here to shop for board shorts for an upcoming trip to PV (shameless name-​place drop); It took me 20 minutes to find the shorts but I was disappointed at how not one employee asked if I needed any help.
The thing I like about this Big 5 location: close to my place. That is it.

Came to this store requested to speak to Jacob store manager because I had bought an Ez up canopy and it got damage upon opening, for set up. So he took care of it and showed me the new price on them they had $ 89 each from $ 159. They had a good sale going on so I took two of them. He knows how to take care of he’s costumers. I’m happy to take the Canopy home. Now I have 4 I. Total and if I need anymore I will be coming back to store. Thanks again Jacob great costumer service sir keep up the work.

Bought the under amour back pack. Light weight thick straps a great feature was the clip that pulls the straps together that’s a cool features so it’s always secure when you have items in it. Very durable it was perfect for what I needed it for. It’s a great buy I got the large size.

Literally waited for a sales person to finish with a group of buying shoes only to see him ignore me and walk away. The service here is usually oblivious to your presence until you either engage them or try and light the store on fire. I would honestly not shop here if it wasn’t for the specials on running shoes. You can’t beat 60 bucks for a pair of Saucony shoes

Been here on a couple of occasions and the staff is always really laid back and helpful.

The service was a bit sparse, yet helpful when engaged. The selection is large and the store is dense, brimming to the aisles with merchandise. There’s a good chance they have in stock what you seek.

Please do yourself a favor and buy your rifles elsewhere. Big 5 is a total fraud! Heres my story, I came in to buy a pellet rifle called a gamo whisper fusion pro. the box and receipt came with exactly the description. Heres the fraudulent part… the gun was NOT the gamo whisper fusion pro. Instead it was a bull whisper (totally different). I came back for an exchange. They said we never sold this bull whisper model before. I said, I bought this gun here and I have the proof for it. They said sorry you don’t have the exact gun you bought it for. Wow. in other words I am screwed for buying something I cant exchange. Heres a fun fact. They looked up the bull whisper and it is not in their system, inventory, manufacturer purchase order… nothing at all. They sold me the wrong gun when I clearly payed for the correct one. Good job at commiting fraud Big 5. I will never go back to them knowing that anything I buy may not even be exchangeable/​returnable because its not in their system!

Husband and I purchased fleece gloves from the Covina location, but he ended up not needing it. I tried to return it at this location, but the manager said that I had to return it at the original location I had purchased them at because they don’t carry the item. What?! Big 5 is a large franchise! I wasn’t in the mood to argue, so I went back to the Covina location. The cashier also thought it was strange that the La Puente location wouldn’t take it back and refund me. She was nice enough to even apologize on behalf of the other store! Waste of time and drive.

Went in looking for an item I knew they carried after walking around and around with no one asking to help me I finally asked at the cashiers the item was locked behind the cashiers station. It is not a big store two employees kinda walk around all these two did was talk about health insurance and dental coverage and while I am sure getting her teeth fixed was important to her the customers didn’t need to know about her cracked tooth. The employees here could use some training.
