Saw custard and had to stop! Had the pistachio and it was delicious! Melts way too fast for the desert. Recommend staying there to enjoy XD

Had a fun filled day, eating our way from Palm Springs to La Quinta and wrapped it up with Rita’s custard, just can’t resist that. We shared a twist. The custard was smooth & creamy. There were many other good sounding flavors that we’d like to try next time we are back in town.

Creamy custard… well worth the trip for that alone. Not as much of a fan of the Italian ice, which is like a slightly firmer slushie. The regular size is more than enough, and the large is really almost too much for one person(and I consider myself a big eater). Nice seating outside facing the mountains. Hidden gem: In-n-Out Burger is across the street!

I can’t comment on the customer service(I stayed in the car whilst the savory product was brought to me), but I can comment on the flavor. WOW, so deliciously creamy. You won’t find better Ice Cream in or around La Quinta. I’ll be back to try their other flavors and Italian Ice. I’ll update as soon as I do. However, I’m sure it’ll be another 5-star experience.

Having lived in the Philadelphia area for many years I was excited to see a Rita’s out here. But I was soon disappointed. They were out chocolate custard(really?) and the vanilla was not the same as it is on the east coast. Oh well.

The girl working tonight– Amanda– was super rude! She made it seem like it was the biggest inconvenience ever that I wanted some Italian ice. So sorry you were forced to do your job when you were trying to close at 8:23 even though you’re open until 9pm. Perhaps you should work on your customer service. I think I’ll stick to the Palm Desert location from now on.

This place is absolutely spectacular. I had my reservations when my mum told me this was her and my father’s new favorite treat, but after trying it myself, I am a true believer! New Italian ice flavors every day… and these flavors are amazing. Think Swedish fish, watermelon, mango, cotton candy and innumerable other ones are a party in your mouth. I recommend you get a mix of 2 flavors in your Gelati(custard on the bottom, Italian ice in the middle, custard back on top). FREAKINDELICIOUSPEOPLE. I KIDYOUNOT! Every spoonful you get a little bit o custard with the sweet Italian ice, and it is just a party for your palate. When you get a mix of 2 flavors, each spoonful is an exciting surprise that makes you feel like a kid again. Please, go and try for yourself, and keep this palate pleasing place in business!

Can not recommend this place at all. Really overpriced ices, didn’t try their custard at this location but the ice is nasty!!!

I have been to this location a few time. I expected more. Not a fan of the frozen custard and the Italian ice had chunks of stuff in it. Not smooth. My kids do not even like it.

Compared to other ice & custard places I have been to, this location is ok. A great place to stop by when rolling through the area with friends, but would not go out of my way. Got the gelati — Italian ice sandwiched in custard in a cup. Opted for the Horchata, which tasted like Horchata, with vanilla custard. For my preferences the custard is too thick and has too much of the consistency of whipped cream/butter. Maybe it was churned too much? The regular is definitely more than enough for one person! Clean location and service was great! Since there were not a lot of people, our group of 10 found seats inside and then later outside. A few of the ices ran out or were running really low when we arrived. Does the trick for hot days in Indio/La Quinta.

I’m not a fan of custard which is their most popular item… BUT i do love just regular olé italian ice. Lemon and root beer flavors are my fav Really can’t go wrong with this on a sunny day~

Took my daughter here right after school to get a quick treat before her doctor’s appointment. There were 11 – 12 in line and only one employee in the store. I could understand staffing like that at 11:00 am but 20 minutes after the local elementary school was released??? It took 17 minutes to get one small ice. I gave two stars because the solo employee did his best. This was our third trip to Rita’s and it’s clear that customer service is not their priority.

Went to Rita’s of La Quinta the other day. Their custard is amazing! I got the chocolate covered strawberry misto. I love this place! The staff was very friendly and helpful, I will definitely be coming back.

Very interesting I like the custard and ice just not together. The sundaes and shakes are good. Not a lot of flavors to choose from. Will be heading back soon. Loved the patio chairs.

Been really looking forward to trying this place and was a bit disappointed with the limited selection of flavors. They were out of vanilla and only had chocolate and orange cream custards. Really wanted to try the gelati but couldn’t imagine mixing chocolate with a tart fruit flavored Italian ice. The chocolate was creamy and rich, soft like frozen yogurt but creamy like ice cream. Hope they get their act together and make sure vanilla doesn’t run out next time we come here. Update: have been back 4 – 5 more times to try new combinations and this place has grown on me. Wish they opened earlier like 10 or 11 am.

It is OK. The orange flavor was good but the texture was something like frosting or soft butter. I thought it would be like frozen Custard that is popular in the Midwest but, it was soft serve. Service was ok

I’ve never tasted anything as disgusting as Rita’s custards! VERY limited flavors of ice creams too.
