At Utopia Optometry, we provide the most professional and friendly eye care service that focuses on the health of your eyes. Our eye doctor offers primary eye care including dry eye management, eye allergy and pink eye treatment, diabetes eye exam, glaucoma management, LASIK consultation, and fitting and dispensing of glasses and contact lenses.

We have a wide selection of designer frames that includes RayBan, Spy, Tiffany & Co., Versace, Gucci, Tag Heuer, Takahashi (handmade wood frames from Japan), and more. Our doctor also fits contact lenses of all kinds including soft disposible, soft toric for astigmatism, soft multifocal, mono-​vision, RGP, and hybrid contact lenses for keratoconus.

Our office is conveniently located at the Commons of La Verne on Foothill blvd and Wheeler (inside Vons /​Ross /​99 Cent Store plaza behind Vons Gas Station). We are open from Monday to Saturday, serving cities of San Dimas, Glendora, Pomona, Upland, Claremont, and La Verne.

History

Established in 2012.

Previously known as La Verne Foothills Optometrist, this office has been serving the foothill area since the 1990’s. Dr. Tim Liu acquired this office and founded Utopia Optometry in 2012, and has since remodeled the office for a whole new look with the most advanced eye care technology and updated eyewear to provide better eye care for you and your family.

We are providers of most major vision insurances including VSP, MES, Eyemed, Spectera (previously Optum Health), and more. We also accept all major medical insurances including Medicare for your eye examination and eye health needs.

Growing up in Walnut, California, Dr. Liu’s dedication and passion for providing excellent eye care started when he first started wearing glasses in the 4^th grade. He is extremely nearsighted (–10.00) with astigmatism, so he understands what it’s like not being able to see. He was amazed at how well he was able to see with his first pair of glasses and vowed to help others to achieve the same benefits.

Dr. Liu started in the field of optometry as a dispensing optician at a local optometry office, where he learned the importance of customer service and patient satisfaction. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Arizona State University, then studied four years at UC Berkeley where he earned his Doctor of Optometry degree.

Dr. Liu is now a board certified optometrist who is therapeutically licensed to diagnose and treat eye diseases in addition to fitting glasses and contact lens. He also has extensive experience in managing patients with LASIK and Orthokeratology.
