History

Established in 2011.

Hala’s Paws was created in June of 2011 but has been a dream of mine since before I can remember. My name is Hala Allouche and thanks to my business partner/​boyfriend of 7 years, Justin Helstien, I finally have the capital to get started. I have been working in the Pet Industry for what seems like all my life (since I was 18). I’ve always felt comfortable in that environment. I was born and raised in Southern California and I have 2 wonderful pugs, Shia and Shelby, and a beautiful cat, Kyler. I have always had a passion for animals and nature so now here’s my chance to give back.

I am 28 years old and I have worked in the Pet Industry for the past 10 years. My pets are my life. I have 2 pugs, a cat, and a Pacific Parrotlet. I love nature and being outdoors. My boyfriend and I love to take road trips to different National Parks, camping, hiking and fishing. We have been together for 7 years and are very happy :) Live life to the fullest, you only get 1 shot!

Great little place in Ladera! The staff was super friendly and helpful, and even when I brought back a bag of treats that my picky Cavalier refused to eat, they gladly exchanged the open bag for something else. I loved the selections of high-​quality food and treats and will definitely be returning!

If you live in South Orange County then you need to shop at Hala’s Paws. You won’t find a more loyal, pet loving, small pet store owner that works harder then Hala. I met Hala when she opened her adorable pet boutique that offers the cutest dog outfits that are made better then you can buy at the chain stores and you don’t have to pay shipping. She has homemade bows and bow ties for the dogs and treats and a great variety of toys and collars and leashes that you won’t find any where else that I have bought and my Sadie has received many compliments when out. Hala offers dog happy hour so pets and customers can get together and socialize and network which is wonderful. Hala is always working in her store, she even offered pet photography in her store I finally got my 7 year old dogs pictures done and I am so happy with them. All my friends want their pets pics done next time they come back. Hala your an asset to our community and I thank you for everything you do for me and for all of our pets.

This place is adorable. The owner Hala is very sweet & they always have cute new things for dogs. Especially around the holidays! Their prices aren’t bad either. For only a few dollars more, you’re getting way better quality product whether it be clothing, collars, food or treats. So happy I live just a couple miles from here!

For sure our favorite pet store! Locally owned by a friendly pup loving sweetheart! Their products are the best of the best and the collars/​bow ties are absolutely darling!!! I’ve bought way more than I’d like to admit… If you’re looking for a SUPER SOFT quality collar with adorable designs, you must check this spot out! Our Frenchie Bob is a fan for sure! What can I say about Hala’s Paws other than its the BEST pet store ever! Okay… here are a few others things I can say… It’s a wonderful small business pet store that supplies only the BEST for your pet! Hala’s Paws has everything from toys to raw food. Did somebody say treat?! My dog goes nuts for all the great treat options Hala’s Paws has to offer.
If you every have any questions Hala is there to help you along the way, always courteous and super friendly. Can’t leave your dog at home? Stop by the store WITH your dog and have a wonderful experience together. She even has a cute little water bowl outside incase your dog gets thirsty. Don’t forget about Hala’s Paws Yappy Hour on Tuesdays!
Hala genuinely cares about your pet (s) and will personally make sure everyone leaves happy. I give this store TWO PAWS UP!

Everything and more has been said in my prior review and other’s that Hala has received on Unilocal but if you need another one so that you will shop here, she is active in the rescue community. An 8 week old puppy with a broken leg was brought to my attention by a friend that works at a local vet (the dog was brought in to be euthanized as the owners didn’t want to deal with it) and I shared the call to action with Hala to help save this pup and she did so by sharing with her contacts in the four and two legged world. The puppy was rescued by a vet however I was so impressed with Hala’s willingness to help out that I want to give her an update on Unilocal. Not only does she have a great business but a great heart too… this is where to shop!

What a great place to go with your pup! I take mine when I need to pick up food or toys. There’s always a great selection of leashes, collars and seasonal stuff for your favorite furry friends. Hala is a dynamite lady and always greets you with a smile (and gives your dog a treat).

Hala’s Paws is amazing. I came to this store recently because my big box store closed early the day before a holiday. I could not be MORE happy that they closed early; otherwise, I may have never met Hala and shopped in her fantastic store. Her customer service is unparalleled… whether she is giving time and personal attention to helping me pick just the right toys for a new family puppy or just answering questions about her products. Her prices are extremely competitive. I exclusively buy my Orijen cat food here. I can’t say enough good things about Hala’s Paws. Please support this small business because she deserves it!

I like this store its clean and well organized. Not to mention the owner is very nice and helpful. I recommend the products, you can’t really find too many made in the USA products these days. I like how the display when you walk in always has a theme for whatever holiday it is. And it is really nice that she offers the pet portraits. The owner also has a super cute parrotlet that I adore! :)

Love this place!
I took my pups to Hala’s for the first time to the weekly «Yappy Hour» event (Tuesdays from 5−7pm). They had so much fun!
Hala’s is a great store for pet health food– I have finnicky eaters, and my pups absolutely love the food I got them from here! (they don’t like Science Diet or any of the brands at Petco).
I recommend this store for any pet owner in the Ladera area!

Cutest little pet boutique I’ve ever been in!
I had bought a Groupon for this store — I paid $ 15 and it was for $ 30 worth of merchandise. I wondered on in here today around 10 when the store opened to browse around and see what they have for cat supplies for my little fur baby. This store is definitely geared towards dog owners, but they do have a small selection of cat toys, catnip, treats, food, collars and accessories for us cat owners.
The owner, Hala, was there when I went in and she was the nicest lady ever! Very friendly and personable. She even recommended some cat food for my cat that he may like since he’s a picky eater (she even gave me a free sample to give to him to try before I purchase).
I ended up leaving with a filtered water dish, some cat treats and a toy. I did have to pay another $ 14 or so on top of what I already paid for the Groupon, but I’m all about supporting small and local businesses so I didn’t mind.
Plus, there’s a Unilocal deal going on right now for Hala’s Paws — you pay $ 50 for $ 75 worth of merchandise. Hala will be very tickled that you buy these promotions — when I showed her my Groupon, she giggled and said «You actually bought my Groupon!» and she seemed genuinely excited about it!
All in all, great place. If you have pets and live in South County, give this place a shot! So worth it.
