So I changed my oil at this place like half year ago. Today I have somebody change oil for me. They found that they never change the filter for me but charged money for it.

After a check engine light came on in my vehicle, I decided to take it to CarX to have it examined. They were able to tell me quickly that it was my engine thermostat and they could have it replaced in an hour for $ 150. While doing so, they discovered a crack in another piece of my engine. The mechanic showed me the issue (which I very much appreciated) but quoted the project at close to $ 700. Because it would take multiple hours, I was told to bring my vehicle back on a second day. After chatting about this with my father (in another state), he recommended that I get a second opinion on the issue as $ 700 sounded extremely high for this issue. After getting a second opinion from a local auto shop, I received the same exact quote (as far as services go) for more than half the price — only $ 330. While CarX may have decent customer service, their prices are outrageous and I’m afraid of how many other people they’re ripping off. Get a second opinion before spending serious money here.

Mechanics are friendly and knowledgeable and services are fairly priced. Definitely the place to go in Lafayette.

This place is fantastic. I have had very bad luck with auto repair recently, and then I came here and they completely turned my week around. I came in an hour before closing to get my belt adjusted and expected to have to come back the next day, but instead they got me in right away. They fixed my problem in five minutes, and let me have it for free since it was so quick. This was a service that Firestone quoted for an hour and a half service and for $ 50. I am extremely impressed and will be going here for any of my future auto needs.

It’s our number one choice for any repairs or advice. We always feel they are honest, upfront and courteous. We never feel like they are just trying to squeeze every last dime out if us. In fact, a few times they’ve told us, «you’ll need to replace _​_​_​_​soon, but it’s not urgent.» That tells me I can trust them because they could have easily made more money off me and they didn’t.

I was in route from Michigan to Tennessee when my car got very loud. The CarX team replaced my catalytic converter in 45 minutes and I was on my way. I was told by other places that I would have to wait for a day or two and it would be 2 – 3 times as expensive.
All the CarX employees I came in contact with were delightful and a pleasure to do business with. I highly recommend the Lafayette CarX.
